What's your Minecraft Username?: robinzee
What's the title of your suggestion?: Make Support Subforums Private

What's your suggestion?:
See title. As far as I know, it's a simple change forums-side and it won't really impact anyone negatively, I don't think. Unless there's somebody really interested in reading through other people's issues?

Some posts also dance the line between Support and Bug Report, and Bug Reports are a private thread due to possible exploits being revealed. The same can be true for Support threads.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
I have no idea why support threads are public forums in the first place -- I think people who've lost things deserve a right to privacy.

How does this matter?
I've explained why I think this matters already in the main post. To reiterate, it's a combination of a want for privacy and a fix for bug reports being made on the support forums, which could lead to exploits being used.

Everyone loses things, I don't see much of a need to keep it private. People who post a support thread should have the common sense not to reveal too much when for the most part all they need is small proof that they want a sign removed, need a vehicle back, or want a role back, etc.
Unless there's somebody really interested in reading through other people's issues?
People look at support threads because they're bored like Ruin said, or they want examples of valid proof for future reference whenever they need support and what kind of proof they should and shouldn't provide.

People say there's no need to make them private, but it's not like there's any need to keep them public either? Sure it might be fun to read through them when you're bored, but it's not really there for entertainment value? Go read general or any of the other actual discussion forums if you need to be on here for entertainment.

The only thing that might benefit from being public is housing disown requests, but it's not like we have a lack of apartments nowadays. I'd say we can keep housing issues public but item/vehicle requests and role requests genuinely have no need to be public. If people need references for how to give valid proof for their requests, maybe add that to the instruction thread with the format and allat.

I don't really care how trivial it is, I'm always +1 for privacy.

I personally feel like support threads clog up the latest profile posts a little too much, and tend to be unnecessary. +1

Whilst it might not be a top-priority issue, I view it as a simple QOL thing. Nothing wrong with it.

I agree people deserve to have their issues private and not let the whole community see them.

i personally dont think it shld be removed, not bc i read them but bc you may actually know that theres a glitch happening that leads you to lose items or something? I dont know, my opinion though i dont mind if it gets private

A long time ago, I liked to read Ban Appeals in my spare time. I liked to observe many people's stories until it was set to unavailable.

Don't see why not. People deserve privacy and while it's true it might make it harder for people to know what's evidence and what's not, I'm sure the pinned message can add more examples as to how to make a support thread

+1 It's an privacy issue and many things could be exploited within the game from possible bugs, that other players can view and replicate for themselves as stated by robinzee :D

Thank you for your suggestion!

- We've made all support sub-forums now private. We will also be moving them to use the forms, similar to Appeals, Suggestions, and more.
