Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers are the backbones of SchoolRP, they are the structure that the server needs. In my opinion they are the most important role in the server, there would be no SchoolRP without the teachers that work hard to make the place a safe, and welcoming environment. As teachers constantly deal with students throughout the day, they’re alot like sheep herders, in the way they keep everyone in check. If there werent teachers who were qualified, I think the whole system would collapse.. Teachers provide people with not only Education, but also structure. They provide students with an opportunity to learn and strengthen their abilities, preparing them to be better for the future. They create lessons that will capture their audience and educate them at the same time. Students thrive on structure, with no structure there would be no SchoolRP.

What's your character's full name?: “jessie watanabe.. do i really have to say my middle name?”
What is your character's nationality?: “well i grew up here, but im french as well!”
What is your preferred subject to teach?: “It’d never be anything else but Art!”

Describe your character:
Jessie is a kind, patient woman. Jessie is soft spoken but will always speak up for the ill treated individuals that she comes across, she can discipline as needed. Jessie would have a soothing french accent when speaking. She has pale skin, and her skin would be soft to the touch. She held herself with grace and would have short pink hair with small hues of purple splattered around it. Jessie has been around art her whole life, as a kid she found it was her way of expressing her feelings.. Her passion and reason to live is art. Jessie has always been the teaching type to others, she loves being helpful and making the people around her feel seen. She’s protective of the students that she teacher, as well as the coworkers she surrounds herself with. She learned to be compassionate and understanding from her late professor and has carried that with her since. Jessie is very open minded, she loves hearing what her students have to say and listening to them, she adores her students and would do anything she can to make their learning more accommodating. She still has a side of discipline with her but carries it with gentle affirmations, if those dont work she of course pulls them aside and speaks with a firm tone. She’s a light in a room when people walk in, a breathe of fresh air. In her spare time, Jessie adores to paint and walk around nature! She will often take her students outside to do the art because she highly believes that nature fuels the mind, and the creativeness art is all about! Jessie acts like a mother figure to all in the school, when a student needs someone to talk to she’s always there.
What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
When Jessie teaches she loves providing her own unique experiences in life, art is vulnerable, its emotional. Jessie makes sure the class is engaged by talking to them about her past adventures in france, the sights she saw, the people’s shes encountered while in school up there. She provides a fun, unique curriculum when it comes to art. She has a spark in her eyes everytime she talks to a student about their passion, strengths, weaknesses. Art is a way for people to express themselves, whether its negative or positive ; she makes that extremely known in her class. Jessie will always make sure the environment around her is safe, whether its in school or not. she will pull students aside if needed and talk to them about how to properly behave ; but she will also make sure the students around her are alright and feel heard. She is willing to overstep boundaries if she notices a teacher abusing their power, she is a very well balanced person when it comes to justice. If Jessie were to ever hear gossip in the teacher lounge, she simply would just walk away. She despises gossip and considers it very childish and below her. Jessie is a very approachable person and will always go out of her way to make sure the people around her are comfortable. Her life goal is to sort of push people in the right direction.
What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
Since Jessie was younger she’s always been passionate about art, painting was her way of expressing herself and conveying her emotions. Everyday she’d do art was a day she spent teaching others around her about it, whether it be her sisters, her friends. She always had something new to talk about. She was placed in an art class with her younger sister at a young age would be completely encapsulated with it. Her eyes would spark everytime she’d walk into a room and spot a painting. As she grew older she became a better artist than she ever was, she went to schooling for it in France and that’s when she found the professor who forever changed her view on it. She dreamed to be that professor for younger generations and passing the torch in a way. She adores teaching, and being vulnerable with her students because thats what she believes art is all about. She eventually applied for a teaching job in Versailles, France and adored it. She taught students the perspectives in art and how vulnerable and encapsulating it could be. She would take them outside and provide them with canvases, showing them how beautiful the world around them is. She dreamed bigger and would eventually move back to Japan where she finally settled herself. That’s when she found Karakura Highschool, she felt this was finally her opportunity. She was immersed in how the school worked, the beauty of the school, and most of all their art curriculum. She applied for it and would go in for interviews, she’d meet students. She decided this was the place she desired to be the most, the place she felt most passionate about.
Roleplay Scenarios

A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
If Jessie spots a student having troubles with her teaching she’d approach it in a gentle way. She’d walk up to the desk and whisper “do you need some help love?” and would make sure the student felt seen and heard. She’d listen to the student on their issue and would make sure it wasn’t embarrassing them at the same time. She’d go into full detail on what they were having trouble on and would go from there. If the student is still having trouble she would of course offer her assistance and show them a visual guide, only if the student consents.
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Jessie is soft spoken but always makes sure she provides guidelines to her class before beginning any of her lesson. If a student is being disruptive in class her first course of action would be to pull them aside and would give them their first verbal warning, she’d explain the issue and would go into detail on how they can fix it moving forward. If said student disrupts again she would assign detention and this would be their final warning. Jessie tries to be quick about taking action, and does not tolerate students being disruptive or rude.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
OUTSIDE INTERACTIVE PAINTING !
Jessie loves to go out of her way on changing the perspective of the world to students around her. One of the many lessons she would provide is taking her class to the roof and supplying art supplies for them to be creative with. She would ask the student to paint something outside that makes them feel “seen” whether its an animal, a tree, or a bench. She would then have students come up and present their pieces to the class and explain what it is they have made, and why it correlates to them as a person. She’d paint along side them and would make them feel more comfortable about presenting, normally going first to show that she is vulnerable as well. She never wants the students to view her as a “Power Figure” but instead enjoys sharing that she is human as well.
MEDIA OBSERVATION
Jessie adores to expand on art, she enjoys comics, literature anything that has to do with art. She would present the lesson and would provide people the option of interpreting a book or a comic into a painting piece. She loves providing them with options and opinions when it comes to her curriculum. She would have lines of comics on her desk for students to pick from, and next to them would be literature novels to showcase different styles. She would provide guidance if a student needs help interpreting their piece.
FIGURE PAINTING
In order to teach students proper anatomy, Jessie would have a ‘model’ come in and pose for them, then use the opportunity to describe the shapes in a human’s body and would go into detail about how to properly translate it to a sketch. She’d provide examples of art for students to better understand and would provide guidance if it is of course needed. She'd pose the model on a chair holding something, the students would have to paint the model and add their own unique twist. Whether it be changing the object in their hands, or even the background.
