General Appearance
Appearance:
Bri looks like she walked straight out of a taxi into a Japanese High School by accident. She carries herself with an effortless confidence, chin up, shoulders loose, eyes scanning the room like she’s reading everyone’s intentions before they speak. Her makeup is always glossy. She wears layered jewelry, her nails done, and multiple little tattoos across her body. She smells faintly of vanilla perfume, hair spray, and the citrus gum she tends to chew when she is anxious.
Personality:
Bri is loud in spirit, not volume. She’s the kind of girl who laughs with her whole body, who talks fast when she’s excited, who swears casually but never cruelly. She’s charismatic without trying, magnetic without meaning to be, and deeply loyal to her people. She’s adaptable, and has to be, although she is stubborn. If she thinks someone’s being fake, she’ll know instantly. If she thinks someone’s being hurt, she’ll step in without hesitation. Underneath the shell, she’s soft. Homesick. Trying her best. And terrified of disappointing people she cares about.
Diseases/Illness:
Mild asthma (triggered by cold air or overexertion)
Seasonal allergies
Insomnia
Anxiety
Character Voice:
She speaks fast, with a Brooklyn accent she can’t hide even when she tries. Her tone is warm, sarcastic, and expressive.

A beat up canvas backpack covered in pins.
Her phone she uses to document her new life.
Lip gloss, gum, and a little pepper spray keychain.
A notebook filled with half-written poems and doodles.

Filming everything.
People-watching.
Late-night walks.
Listening to music way too loud.
Journaling.
Serious Problems/Flaws/Addictions/Disorders/Disabilities:
Impulsive when emotional.
Struggles with homesickness.
Fear of abandonment.
Overthinking compliments.
Mild anxiety.
Tendency to bottle things up until she explodes.
Tends to drink too much.
Skills:
Fast learner.
Socially intuitive.
Surprisingly good at reading people.
Street-smart.
Creative problem solver.
Can talk her way out of almost anything.

Talks with her hands.
Chews gum constantly.
Collects random trinkets from places she visits.

Family:

Father: American, calm, grounding, works long hours.
Sister: Older sister who lives in Lisbon that she Facetimes often.
Backstory:
Brianna LaFraglia grew up in Brooklyn, loud streets, loud people, and a family that loved her fiercely even when they didn’t understand her. She spent her childhood weaving between subway cars, corner bodegas, and the chaotic warmth of her neighborhood. New York shaped her. Smart, quick, observant, and unafraid to speak her mind.
Her life flipped when she turned 18 and decided to start a new chapter. She packed her life into two suitcases and boarded a plane.
Japan was a difficult place to fit into. Quiet. The hallways were orderly, the students were (mostly) polite, the rules were strict. Bri felt like a firecracker dropped into a library. She didn’t fit in, not at first. Her accent stood out, her clothes stood out, her energy stood out. People avoided her.
But Bri is adaptable. She learned the train routes. She bought herself an apartment. She learned who smiled with their eyes and who didn’t. Slowly, she carved out a place for herself.
She became the girl who asked questions no one else would, who spoke up and answered the questions in class, who made friends with the shy kids and challenged the confident ones. She brought color into the quiet rooms. She brought noise into the silent hallways. She brought herself into her new school, fully herself, unapologetically.
She carried a quiet hope. A hope that maybe she is meant to be in this place and meant to grow as a person here.
