Lev, being surrounded by pathology back when he was in Russia, saw a lot of his close ones get hurt and murdered. Due to a lot of trauma and abuse from his father during his youth, he would develop Borderline Personality Disorder.
Nicotine Addiction:
Since he was 15, Lev would be addicted to cigarettes. When in Poland, he would often go to a local news stand, where he would buy a pack of Malboro Reds. Since coming to Karakura, it would be alot harder for him to get some, yet he would always find a way to get one, if its either from buying one or stealing from someone.

Backstory:
Levs early years, in Białystok, Poland were filled with challenges in the Starosielce neighborhood. Despite his intelligence he ended up joining a school to study mechanics. Unfortunately the school environment influenced him negatively leading him down a path with physical altercations. Coming home with bruised knuckles became a routine for Levs parents who would painstakingly clean his blood stained clothes as a reminder of his struggles.
Expulsions became an occurrence during Levs journey due to his involvement in fights and disregard for school rules particularly when it came to smoking on campus. These difficulties put strain on his family who were already facing hardships.
During Lev's rebellion phase, he has met a group of people in Poland, with whom he made good contacts, yet he was yet torealise what he'd get himself into. Everyday at around 1am Lev would sneak out of his house thru his window to hang out with them. The first weeks were peaceful, but after they got to know Lev, they would start commiting some petty crimes like theft and DUI, yet after some time, the group of friends got in contact with a few of the local Mafias members, and got a hold of some unregistered weapons. One night, the friends decided to rob a local shop with the weapons the got for some money. The night before the robbery, they prepared everything, like ski masks, gloves, semi-blackout and of course the weapons. The day of the robbery has come. They decided to let Lev and an another friend of his to go inside, whilst the 2 of them were outside on lookout. Once Lev entered, he put his aim on the cashier, demanding to get the location and the code to the safe. The cashier didnt believe it was a real weapon, but when Lev fired it thru the roof, the cashier took it seriously and gave him all the information. The shot that Lev fired was pretty loud, so some neighbour decided to call cops to check out what was happening. When the Police came to the shop, the burglars were already on their way outside, so police told them to put the bag full of money down, but Lev decided to fire a bullet towards the cops car, which has missed, so the Police had no other option but to start an open fire towards the individuals. Levs friend ran away with the money, same like the others, leaving him behind. Lev successfully shot one of the cops in the leg, but the other cop has shot him in the arm, leaving him with a serious wound. He decided to run away thru the back of the shop, successfully escaping with a money bag.
When Lev turned 18 driven by a desire for change and longing for a start he embarked on an audacious journey. Scraping together every penny he had he managed to secure a one way ticket to Karakura, a town. This leap of faith represented a turning point in Levs life—a chance to break free from the limitations of his past and pave the way, for growth and redemption. The trip, to Karakura was much more than a change of scenery. It symbolized a search for oneself and the desire for a future, from the difficulties faced in ones years.
Whilst in Karakura, Lev would attempt to find a decent job, yet due to his criminal background in Poland, he was unable to find a job that would last him more than a week. Lev would spend most of his time lurking around Powerplant, attempting to meet some people, since he was unable to find anyone in school. There, he found a person under the alias 'RONIN'. Thats when he found out about the underground part of Karakura, the crime world of the city. After some time, 'RONIN' asked Lev if he wanted to join his new gang, called 'TENJUKU'. Lev agreed on joining. There, he got an alias 'ANIOŁ', which meant ANGEL in his mother lanuage.
