A command that will allow players to view another player’s current character description, despite that character not being present in front of them.
Something like [/viewdesc LoveBirdBirdie].

HOW WILL THIS BENEFIT THE SERVER/COMMUNITY?:
Given that players can view a character’s description by Right-clicking on them, view their own description with the command /viewdesc, and find information on other players’ recent server activity via /seen, I’m hoping SRP can combine the features into a new one.

There are some visual aspects of SRP that can best be explained through descriptive flavor text, thus every player’s ability to edit their own character description that others can see.
It would be practical to access these descriptions even when the character in question isn’t around.
For example:
  • A player may attempt to reflect on or describe a character ICly whom they’ve recently met. They might be able to find/recall their IGN or character name, but didn’t take the opportunity to peruse their description when they had the chance. A command to do so would help keep their ICly perception of that character in line with what the player intended.
  • There are characters owned by mods and admins in SRP that are particularly relevant to Karakura’s lore. In character, it would make sense for the general citizen to recognize those characters at a glance when hearing about them in the news, Onrain, or ICly gossip. But it’s impossible to expect everyone to have the opportunity to check the descriptions of these narratively relevant characters by getting close enough to click on them. The ability to check any description just by being on the server will make for a smoother roleplay immersion.
  • Artists who want to draw characters that they’ve interacted with or that belong to their friends would be able to easily use their descriptions as a reference without waiting to get in contact with and interview players on their character’s appearance and demeanor.

The whole reason you have to right click is because that's what your character is currently seeing

First off, /findname works wonders. With both their RP name and ign, you can do /me describes [player] and take a look at their NameMC.

Artists who want to draw characters that they’ve interacted with or that belong to their friends would be able to easily use their descriptions as a reference without waiting to get in contact with and interview players on their character’s appearance and demeanor.
Just ask or take a screenshot next time that you see them in game.

Overall, I agree with Nylu. -1.

This feels mostly unnecessary for reasons already listed above, but I'm not really against it. If it really wouldn't be much of a hassle to implement then sure, but otherwise it's not worth the effort.

As Nylu said you’re meant to see the descption when looking at someone. If you want to know someone’s desc, either walk up and right click them or ask them for a ss or something. We don’t need a whole new command for it

It wouldn't make sense you seeing someone else's description if they aren't stood in front of you

Thank you for your suggestion! After discussing this with the team we have decided to decline it.

- The description system is the way it is to describe the physical description of the person you are looking at since regular Minecraft skins can only include so much. We unfortunately won't be adding a command to do this
