as a player in the Teacher faction for over a year now, its definitely been a challenge seeing this happen all the time. Not only because of my status ICly, its difficult to even keep track of those that graduate to college and sometimes quit SRP.
I have 3 students or so that have stuck around though and its pretty nice to see them from time to time, sometimes its a motivator for me to get online!

Honestly it can be a bit of a gamble, the new generation is slowly taking over, and I recently seen the new KPD passers ( they might be OG, but the new generation of KPD)
They might change the rules from their complaints, and I do think the overall GANGRP needs a combat permission rework IN my point view."
But the new generation might just think these rules are fine and might change them if they all complain about it who knows.
Just pray they don't do stupid shit

Been here since 2016, and yes, but it's more like small changes happening over a course of time. For example, the police faction didn't used to exist, and now it's the most popular one.

I’ve been in the community since October of 2020, I have watched names rise and fall, people come and go, changes be altered and the map change. I’m now lucky enough to be one of those builders who makes the map a pretty place for those now and those who come after me. While my work my not stay there forever lore wise or build wise it will be remembered or spoken of to those who ask question. This question makes me feel extremely old… though I am not.

the peopel i first met when i joined srp are still around, one is going off to college- the other is actually in their 2ND year of college, they both dont play srp as much but i kept my contancts with them <33
there's people who come and go and then return again , they take breaks and come back-
it's very weird but also interesting, seeing the changes that occur around us as we grow.

i can DEFINITELY see it. honestly i don't care much about it happening, its just weird to see old srp friendgroups/players leave.
maybe it's just me, but when i saw people on the tab i almost knew all of them. now i only recognize like 20% of the players, the rest are completely new.

it's just weird to see the times change tbh, but it has to happen to keep a server alive

This is exactly what happens! I was an active player on SRP mostly from 2015-2018, taking a six year leave from the server. In that time, almost literally EVERYTHING changed.
I’d say that the amount of players online haven’t changed much (ranging from 100-350) but just about the whole player base changed in 2019-2020! I feel like most active players nowadays joined anywhere from 2020-current time, but it’s rare to come by old players, let alone old friends.
Anyways, when I came back I was surprised to see that almost all of staff had left the server, as well as the majority of active players back then. What’s also funny to think about is that when I was mostly active, I was 10-13 years old and I’d say the majority of the player base were kids who were a lot younger; around my age at the time.
As SRP gets older, it seems like the player base grew with it! Now the majority of players are adults or older teenagers (also around my age), which is kind of funny to think about!
To sum it up, it’s definitely prominent that there are different gens of SRP, and some who play today will no longer be active in just a couple of years. All of my old friends are no longer active, meaning it’s like I’m playing for the first time all over again.

that's the beauty of srp, man. it's this ever growing community, never the same, never silent. i feel like the new generations aren't something to look at and go 'i miss my friends' - i've still kept in contact with my buddies that have quit. seeing new faces is fun for me, personally
