Roberts Family - The Normal American Nuclear Family!
How the Roberts family began

The Summer of 1955, Larysa and her family immigrates from Ukraine to the U.S.
As they step off the boat, they wait for someone who never comes. Yet, the jokes on them, as they already have over 500 dollars, due to the mysterious man sending them roughly 1,000 USD.
Larysa and her mother do not speak English, nor does the dog they somehow managed to smuggle on the boat. So, the father has to speak broken English.
After a few months of living in the poorest part of the neighborhood, they move up into a better housing area in New York.
Part 1: Larysa Matviyenko
Larysa was born in 1944, in Yalta, Ukraine. Her father Grygoriy rushed to the hospital when she was born. She was born on June 17th, 1944. She was very cheery and loved to help her mother cook. She always loved to eat Borscht, and later in life-- she became good at cooking it. She was very good at speaking Ukrainian and used it to speak to Russians. (As the Languages are very similar).

When Larysa was 11, they moved to New York, Larysa was confused. Why was she moving? Is it bad in Ukraine? She wondered this as she hugged her toy cat. She asked her mother, she didn't seem to know, either. When she asked her Dad, he just said "We're going to live with my friend. Do not worry, Larysa."

When they arrived in New York, no one came. Luckily, they still had $500 left. They found the friend and lived with them for a few months before he died. He left them $390 dollars, with that and the money Larysa's dad earned in the past 3 months, they had roughly, $1400. Which was enough to get their own apartment.
