    A beginner's guide to attributes

    A few months ago, Ducks and Im6 added an "Attributes" plugin, the attributes plugin allows players to grind specific activities around the map to up their attributes, attributes can give you a big advantage in roleplay situations, but they shouldn't be abused, nor should cosmetics be evolved to grind your attributes. to view your attributes, simply type /attributes in chat and your attributes will be displayed on screen. Attributes are currently removed, but they will hopefully be back soon. Attributes can be used to your advantage in roleplay situations such as: Getting to places faster, outrunning/swimming people, falling from high places without dying and getting to swim underwater for a while without having to worry about drowning. Also, I know a thread was already posted about attributes last year, but I figured no one will bump into that anymore, so I will make an updated one. There are 5 attributes in total:

    Speed
    Swim Speed
    Lung Capacity
    Acrobatics
    Endurance

    I'll give a description on what all the specific attributes do.

    When you level up an attribute, you'll get this message on your screen.

    [SchoolRP] Your attribute [attribute] is now at [percentage]


    Speed: Speed is your running speed, every time you go up 1% in speed, you start to run slightly faster, a lap around the whole map would get you about 0.6 to 0.8% speed. Speed is also the hardest attribute to grind. After about 50%, you'll notice it's faster to run without jumping than it is to jump, because your speed overcomes your jump+run speed.

    Swim speed: Swim speed is your Swimming speed, this is the easiest attribute to level up on, you get 1% in around a minute, at 25%, you get a massive boost, which you can then get 1% in under 40 seconds, at 100%, your speed stays the same.

    Lung capacity: Lung capacity is the amount of time you can spend underwater, with 0% lung capacity, you'll have the normal Minecraft time underwater before you start to drown and eventually die, but, every 1% you get a few seconds of the potion "Water breathing", if you press E to go into your inventory, the amount of water breathing you have will be displayed there, at 100%, you get about 1:38 minutes of water breathing to live with.

    Acrobatics: Acrobatics is your players jump height, there's not much too acrobatics, every 2-4 jumps gets you 0.01 acrobatics, at 50%, you get your first jump boost of about 1.5 blocks, and at 100%, you get a 2.5 block jump boost.

    Endurance: Endurance is basically your health, with 0% endurance, you have 7 hearts, to get your endurance up, you hurt yourself, for example: Stepping in fire, taking fall damage etc. Every 8% or so you get 1 extra heart, and at %100 you get 20 hearts, which is a big advantage if you're not the most careful person. This is the first attribute you should get maxed out, so then you don't have to worry about dying, which is a big advantage.

    I like the guide, but there's a few things I disagree with:
    Swim speed is by far the most tedious grind of them all. Unless you have 25%+ and depth strider 3 boots, it's going to take more than 100 minutes; Even then, it still takes multiple hours to get the stat to 100% (Which is unnecessary in all honesty, but it's cooler than having a 25%). Without depth strider, you'll be looking at multiple days of grinding, assuming you sleep and have a life.

    You will recieve 1 HP (half a heart) every time you gain 3.85% (roughly), which on my part is a bit nitpicky, since technically you will recieve a full heart around 8%. Also, I strongly suggest not grinding endurance first, as it is a LONG grind, and will cost you a lot of money to buy food so you can regenerate HP. The best way to grind endurance, in my experience, is slowly over time (unless you want to risk dying). Just jump down staircases or high places every now and then, regenerate, and do it again later. It builds up rather quickly, as long as you find opportunities to take damage.

    It defnitely does not take over 100 minutes to get 100%, I'm sure it takes something close to that but I maxed mine out in a little over an hour, that was non stop.

    Great guide and all, buttttt.... Attributes is kinda useless. It's been disabled for several weeks now, so maybe it would've been better to wait to create this thread.

    Thought id decide to post it as I'm sure they'll be back soon and it gives people a head start ob them, especially for the new players who have never heard of attributes before

    I like your optimism, but attributes has been (like I said before) disabled for weeks. There's no news on when they'll be back, if ever. They caused a lot of lag, and no one can really change that without massively editing the plugin.

    I've talked with ducks about them, he said they'll be back around the time of PrisonRP or even sooner, like I said, this thread is there, so when they return, it'll be there for people

    I don’t think this is useless at all- I think it’s a neat thread that staff members can use to send to newer/new-coming players when attributes are back up and running!

    prisonrp is expected to come out in beta in about 1 - 2 months, not counting any issues along the way. gonna be a while and no one checks guides as much as they use to. but hey, maybe you'll get lucky and they read this guide.

    As I said before, this is a great guide and it'll help a lot of people. I just think it would've been better to post it right after attributes are back, which as I said, isn't soon.

    Ask anybody who spent the first few days swimming when attributes were added back- @Akinn was another no life who was grinding swim as soon as it came out, and he, as well as some other people that I cant remember off the top of my head, would say that swim speed is not a fast grind.
