Out-Of-Character Information

What is your Minecraft username?:

babiehann [Other Account(s): hannriverr; this has not been stated in any of my other applications as I received the account recently.)

How old are you?:

I am fifteen.

Do you have any previous bans?:

I have never been banned on the SchoolRP server; however, I have had one warn: PG in OOC.

What Country are you from?:

I live in the United States of America. My timezone is CST.

Do you have Discord (if so, what is your discord username?):

I do, my username and tag is peachnct#0269.

Do you understand that most answers are found in the roleplay documents?:

I do understand.

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:

I do acknowledge that; I tend to be inactive during daytimes at my time, save for weekends. I’m often on and a lot more active later at night.

Do you understand that all classroom activity must be documented on the "Teacher Roster" thread?:

I do, as this is important for making sure you are thoroughly being active with teaching as well as teaching well.

Describe your activity on the server & on the forums?:

I’m not the most active on the forums. I mostly post characters on the forums for my enjoyment and my memory (as it’s not the best.. haha).

For the server, I tend to play mostly in the afternoon daily. On weekends, however, I’m on almost all day. I try to be the most active I can on SchoolRP, however, I am in clubs IRL as well as work and school, which I know can be understood. I know I can’t neglect the whole of SchoolRP without notice or in general.

Trivia

What is your motivation for becoming a teacher?:

My motivation for being a teacher is not just money. I enjoy explaining things to other students my age in real life, and that is definitely a good experience of being a “teacher” out of character. However, explaining things and not giving the answers to students is not the only thing that is required of a teacher. To be a teacher, you must have patience, which I personally believe I have. You also have to have the cooperation and ability to morph to other people’s needs, which I think I also have. I think that it’s very important to have all of these qualities, and I think I’d be fit for the position. Honestly, I think that my main motivation for becoming a teacher on SchoolRP is a good experience for both role-play and real-life jobs. However, becoming a teacher requires time and effort and I know I will need to make the space for both of those. It will also help me develop the skill of keeping myself in line and refusing to quit.

Do you have any experience in Roleplaying?:

I have had lots of experience in role-playing. I believe I began my main, first role-play journey on two different medieval servers. I worked on both of those and improved my role-play skill for a couple years. I then continued on to join creative servers and role-play on them. The role-plays I participated in on creative servers were not the most unique or creative, but they did give me some experience, do’s and don’ts to feature on my “resume”.

Have you read the Faculty Handbook?:

I have read over the Faculty Handbook / Terms and Code of Conduct (as the link to the Faculty Handbook results in an error). Most of it, to me, is basic information, something that should be known to every adult and teacher. However, I read it through and thoroughly, and I understand all of it.

What are the classroom logs and why is it important?:

Classroom logs are something that lists most of what happens within a classroom and how it is handled by the teacher. They also describe lessons and how the teacher handles other students. Classroom logs are important because they often determine how:

1) the teacher is handling the class.

2) the teacher is explaining assignments, notes, and classwork.

3) the teacher notifies students about tests, quizzes, and other types of work.

You want to start a school field trip; how do you do that?:

Starting a school field trip is often a complicated process, depending on where you will be going. For KHS, it’s often easy, as Karakura is a smaller town and you don’t need “bus rides” everywhere you go. For starting a field trip, you would first need to get permission from the head; this ensures that you do have permission to take your students out of class and on a trip off of school grounds. Next, you’d want to either get permission from the parents of the students (however, on SchoolRP, it’s rare to find a lot of students who have parents, so that portion is nearly always skipped over), or you’d want to inform the students about the field trip beforehand, at least a week or two in advance.

As a teacher, what are the strict rules when being in a class?:

One.

No cellular devices in class or any other distractions. This can cause a disruption and/or cause a student to struggle.

Two.

Harassing another student OR a faculty member are both punishable. This is prohibited in my classroom.

Three.

Bring materials to my class. If you do not have access to the materials you need, ask. I will always be willing to give you materials, such as notebooks, pens, and pencils.

Four.

Sexual talk or inappropriate conversations are prohibited within my classroom. Most talk is to be kept on-topic and classroom appropriate.

Five.

Doing your best in my class is an important rule. I will not be an easy teacher. Do not forget to keep yourself in check and on your best behavior.

Six.

Raise your hand to speak, unless a type of game requiring you to shout out is currently being played. A basic rule.

Seven.

Remain in your seat unless told otherwise.

Rules are subject to change at any time.

Summarize your previous RP experiences (both in general and on SchoolRP):

I used to roleplay a lot on creative and medieval servers before coming to SchoolRP, both of which helped accumulate my roleplaying skills. I’d rather not admit it, but I used to roleplay a lot on Roblox, which also aided in my roleplay scenarios, as I learned from others’ mistakes and taught myself to be less like the classic Mary/Gary Sue. On SchoolRP, I remember distinctly trying to become someone different, however, that was, at first, not the case. I began as one of the classic “Tomboy Goth Emo Teens” and that definitely wasn’t my prime time of SchoolRP. I began playing male characters, which fit me well, as I believed, and I began “thinking out of the box” as to creating my characters. Yes, a lot of them had their cliches, but I did manage to improve. Overall, I’ve had a long-lasting roleplay experience in general.

Describe the ranking system of teachers:

- HD: The HD (Head of Department) is the rank that overlooks both QTLS and NQT teachers. They make sure that all those who are under their department (for example, a NQT under Science) are keeping their classes running smoothly.

- QTLS: The QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning & Skills) is the rank that not only teaches their own classes, but also aids the NQTs with their classes and helps them with making their classes better. These teachers have participated well in the teaching activities.

- NQT: The NQT (Newly Qualified Teacher) branch is a branch made of just as the title says. They’re newly qualified and have a legal employment status in the range that they are able to teach within a good, maintained school.

Teacher Knowledge

Present to us your knowledge about Teachers in-game and out-of-game, what purpose do teachers serve. What salary do they get? Include a paragraph about the way teachers teach, what they do in their spare time in general.

Teachers in-game are often big tools on the SchoolRP server. It’s quite useful to have teachers within a SchoolRP server. They keep children and students in check, and teach them things they need to know in the world. They also aid students in their activities around the school, and they also prepare children for making life decisions.

Out-of-game, teachers serve the purpose of nearly the same in-game: they keep children in check and explain things they’ll need in the future to help them succeed with their life in the future. Teachers are often understanding with most students and are there to help in general, but they’re not counselors. They are there to teach students and guide them along their path in school.

In SchoolRP, there are many different ways teachers teach. A lot of teachers will take their time and slowly guide students along the path to help them learn life skills. Some teachers will play teaching games with their students, and some will give out homework and assignments for students to do during class. A lot of teachers have established, in my eyes, their own style of teaching, as there are many different ways teachers explain and teach things to students. Salaries of teachers often depend on how often they’re at school, and it’s usually around 250k yen or more depending on your rank and bonus classes.

I’ve seen a lot of teachers, in their spare time, either be making lesson plans out-of-game or enjoying coaching sports or leading clubs with students. This is very important to the students as they’re both activities that will aid the students. In-game, however, I rarely see teachers role-playing making lesson plans, and instead they’re often interacting with students or monitoring the halls if they’re not teaching. This is also important to students, as they need to learn behavioral skills within the school.

Why are teachers important to a SchoolRP server?:

Teachers are important to a SchoolRP server for multiple reasons. Not all teachers can be NPCs, and often, NPC teachers are boring. They spout info and drop quizzes out of nowhere, when often students who haven’t been there previously have no time to catch up. With real-player teachers, the server becomes much more fun and active, as it’s easier to keep up with an in-game teacher’s lessons than an NPC’s.

Teachers are also important to a SchoolRP server because they keep students in check. NPC teachers would not be able to thoroughly do this, as they are NPCs and cannot physically react in different ways to different students unless coded otherwise.

What lesson planning system does the school work on?:

The SchoolRP school works on a MoSCoW method, which stands for Must have, Should have, and Could have. This acronym means:

Must Have - must have the requirement done/completed for all needs.

Should Have - should have the requirement, but it’s not completely needed.

Could Have - it’s possible to have it, but it’s not needed, and it does not affect the project in any way, shape, or form overall.

W - Would like to have the requirement, but it’s not possible/required to have it finished at the time.

Character Knowledge

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. How does he look like? What makes him unique and different? What is his outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is his personality like? What is his plan for the future?

Masato Adachi (Mr. Adachi) is a Japanese male standing at six foot one. He’s a bit tan, and his eyes are icy bluish gray colour. He seems that he’s staring into your soul when he looks at you. Masato has a clean face, with no facial hair other than his eyebrows. He has bangs that fall to the side of his head, and he wears a bright smile when greeting students or future colleagues.

He’s not the most strict teacher, but he does have expectations, and he does not like to be let down. He’s very well planned-ahead and rarely has anything not planned. He likes to be ahead of things, and tends to plan lessons weeks ahead to be prepared. However, just because he plans ahead does not mean he keeps things neat. Masato tends to leave things lying around, and sometimes finds things missing. He prefers to keep his things in a folder or in a certain storage area, however he’s not the best at doing so. He often leaves them lying around in areas to be unknown later on.

Masato has a positive outlook on the other teachers. He tends to expect too much, however, and he would not be surprised if he was let down by his own expectations - it happens too often for him to count. He continues to have a positive outlook on his future colleagues - he’d rather not have a bad beginning with anyone.

For students, however, it’s different. Masato knows he will expect a lot from students in the future, but he wouldn’t particularly be surprised if students don’t treat his class seriously. After all, they are high school students, and he was once in high school too. He tended to mess around and goof off in high school as well.

Masato can be a clown if he wants to - he’ll joke around with students and colleagues in the hallways, but he’ll keep it mostly serious within the classroom. He isn’t looking forward to retirement - he enjoys speaking with students in the hallways, and he doesn’t expect to retire at an early age. He’ll continue working for a while, and he would like to keep that mindset. He’s rarely stressed by the children, and tends to keep himself relaxed by working out - he looks young for his age, as he’s rarely stressed, and he has a younger figure as well.

Scenarios

You find a gang of delinquents in the hallway cursing and swearing, what do you do?:

Masato would first approach them and warn them about their language. If the delinquents continued to curse and swear, Masato would then bring another teacher or higher-up into the scene - possibly the vice principal to punish them, depending on how bad it gets. He would never get physical with the students or degrade them, as he knows it’s his job to set a model example for those children.

No one in your class is listening to a word you say, what do you do?:

Masato would mention first the fact that the students would only be giving themselves more trouble if they refuse to listen. He would tend to pass out more work and ask for them to have it done sooner; he’d play less games and tend to get more serious with the students. He, however, may become stressed, and give out piles upon piles of work. He wouldn’t yell at the children, because that’s not the best move. At times, he’d stand there, quietly, a firm look on his face, one that literally reads ‘shut up’, but he wouldn’t say anything. He may begin preparing work or writing on the board. For some students, if they continue to talk, he may have them come in and write sentences or ask them to see him after class. He may give them detention after school.

When in the teacher's lounge, how does your character act?:

When in the teacher’s lounge, Masato would enjoy his time - he’d probably discuss things with fellow teachers, such as classes or social life. He’d try to keep it on the topic of school, though, as they’re still in the building and on the property. Masato tends to joke around with those around him, and he has a smile on his face when working with colleagues, even if he’s not in the mood.

Provide at least 5 detailed /me's of your character inside a classroom:

/me would shake his head, staring at the talking class. His eyebrows furrowed and a frown of disappointment tugging at the corners of his mouth. He then turned to print copies. . .

/me would smile at the student, a glint appearing in his eye as he nodded, tapping his chin lightly with a look of thoughtfulness on his face. He stood up straight and turned to move onto the next student.

/me would prepare the work for the students, explaining it thoroughly to make sure all of them understood the assignment. He would brush his hair out of his eyes and wave to the class after passing the work out.

/me would write on the chalkboard, ‘Mr. Adachi’ in neat Japanese before turning to stare at the class. He would point to the lettering on the board and nod his head, before pacing around the room.

/me would check over the shoulders of a few students, making sure they were doing their work properly. He would point to a student’s paper once before tapping lightly and looking down at them.

Backstory

Masato Adachi was originally born to Hyousuke Adachi, who had raised his son to be cool-minded and smart. Masato was taught by his family and his supervisors to be calm and collected. However, Masato was still disorganized - nothing could change that part of him. Masato’s teachers helped him through his school career, and taught him many ways to help him study and get through his classes. He was excited to go to school, as his teachers certainly cared for him. These teachers were those who inspired Masato to become a teacher himself - though, Masato had to have a few children of his own before teaching himself how to deal with other children.

Masato, before he began going into teaching, had two children - both of which were disobedient and a bit wild. Masato had to learn how to control his own children while managing his studies - which turned out to be a handful, however, Masato handled it. He taught himself how to have fun with both his studies and his children, and that for sure helped him with becoming a teacher. Masato tended to dive headfirst into his studies of becoming a teacher, having two children being his “it dawned upon me” moment.

Masato then moved from his studies in psychology to studies in science and teaching - he wanted to lead others along the path he had taken, with becoming someone new and a better student. He wanted to help children with their own studies, and he wanted to help them with their future life; such as getting into college and following their own dreams. Masato became a sort of ‘father’ to those who needed help - and he tends to have that fatherly-figure type of form within the classroom.

He loves to be around teenagers, and as his own children are teenagers themselves now, Masato knows the struggles that a lot of the students are going through. Masato likes to seem a parent figure to a lot of the children, and enjoys talking to the students as if they were his own children.

Overall, Masato originally was inspired by both having his own children and his former teachers throughout his school career. Both of these factors are included in creating Masato as a teacher today.
