Trivia

What is your motivation for becoming a teacher?: I've wanted to be a teacher ever since I was young. I love the thought of helping people learn new things because of what I taught. May I add I do musical theatre (drama, dance, music) as a hobby. I perform on stages and go to lessons meaning I know a lot about the subject I want to teach. I also have seen other teachers and I thought if they can do it why can't I? Plus, I think it'd be really fun to teach Drama.

Do you have any experience in roleplaying?: I do! I played a roleplaying server (which I will not advertise) which taught me most of the skills but I'm pretty sure, if I get accepted, I will learn even more skills along the way!

Have you read the faculty hand book?: I have read the faculty hand book over and over thoroughly so I understand it all!

What are the classroom logs and why are they important?: They keep check of when a class has started, who's teaching it, what the students have learnt and if everyone if actually teaching!

You want to start a school field trip; how do you do that?: I would first submit the applications (OOC and IC) provided. Then in character, I would ask the vice-principal and write down who would like to join the class.

As a teacher, what are the strict rules when being in a class?: Class rules would be:
1. No shouting out, raise your hand if you would like to speak.
2. No phones out in lesson, they're distracting and gives a disadvantage if you're researching the answers.
3. No food and drink, it is a health and safety hazard as it is not a food place. Eat in the cafeteria.
4. No running around, please stay in your seat unless told otherwise by a teacher or senior member of staff. It distracts the teacher, gets you in trouble and also deprives the students from the necessary learning.
5. Please do not be disrespectful. This includes inappropriate language, inappropriate hand actions, spiteful words towards anyone (staff or student) and so on and so forth..

Summarise your previous RP experiences (both in general and in SchoolRP): I have a job as a cashier at Kiyoura Cafe, meaning I had to go through an interview and pass it, it also means I know how to speak to people and how to listen to people. I have learnt the pricing on this server, the rules, the commands etc.. (So basically my RP experiences have been teaching and fun).

Describe the ranking system of teachers:

1. HD: You are one of the leaders for the learning curriculum, you make sure that the lessons are planned and all the information is correct. HD stands for Head meaning it is the highest rank out there.

2. QTLS: You're a professional teacher now, you can have classes more freely. QTLS stands for Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills. It is the second highest teaching rank.

3. NQT: You're new, you just got the job / you're a trainee / you recently got the job. You can now teach lessons but must go over everything with senior teachers. (HD). NQT stands for Newly Qualified Teacher. (This is what I will hopefully get).

Teacher knowledge

Present to us your knowledge about Teachers in-game and out-of-game, what purpose do teachers serve. What salary do they get? Include a paragraph about the way teachers teach, what they do in their spare time in general.

In-game: The teacher's biggest purpose is to teach. They're meant to hand out the information needed from their brains (or text book) to the students. They're meant to do as much as they can with the power they've got. For example, extra revision lessons during lunch or after school, interventions before school, literally anything which will benefit the students. A teachers purpose is to help with the pupil's exams. Make them know everything in preparation. Homework for example, teachers set it so that when you walk out the classroom door at the end of the day - you don't just throw all that information you gathered out the window. Instead you study it at home and complete the work set and maybe revise it from time to time. Another purpose that the Teacher's have is to abolish bullying in anyway they can. If a teacher sees bullying, they will (in a professional way) stop it as soon as they can and talk to the students involved to see why it started and how to stop it. It says in the teachers union that a teachers salary on average in Taketatsu Academy is 250000 Yen/Year.

In the teachers spare time, I normally see them at the gas station. I don't know why they're there or what they're doing. However, they're normally all together meaning that they could be discussing work matters or just having a chit chat.

Out - of - game: Once again, the teacher's biggest purpose is to teach. Similar to in-game, a teacher is meant to explain information and let the student minds absorb it. They're meant to do this in a way which will help students remember the information, and that can be the tricky part. Teachers don't just teach though, they can first aid. In a real life emergency, a teacher can put their basic first aid knowledge to use until paramedics get to the school. Not only can they first aid but they're also very the****utic. They know what to say to a child if they're having trouble at home or on the internet and they have the basic resources to call in-case they need some professional help. The average salary for a high school teacher is £28,951, which is 37000.68 dollars.

I'm not really sure what teacher's do in their spare time, I'm pretty sure they just lead a normal adult's life. Go to see friends, go out to a festival or club every once in a while, go for a coffee and chit chat. That sort of thing.

Why are teachers important to the SchoolRP server?: Teachers are important to the SchoolRP server as without teachers, you can't really have a school roleplaying server. Teachers are one of the main roles through-out the server, you need them to roleplay with and you need them to actually take care of Taketatsu school.

What lesson planning system does the school work on?: The school lesson planning system is MoSCo. Must have, Should have, Could have.

Character Knowledge

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. How does he look like? What makes him unique and different? What is his outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is his personality like? What is his plan for the future?: My characters name is "Aki Asu". He is 5'11" and has blue eyes with blonde hair. He is young for a teacher but doesn't mind kids. He has a genetic back problem meaning he needs a cane which can have its downfalls. He is very unique as he isn't just another boring old teacher. He's fun, exciting and makes the students WANT to turn up to class. He's not super strict but will enforce the rules. He knows what kids are like because when he lived in Britain - his parents were childminders. He would try to be funny but just embarrass himself, which is the funny part to be honest.

Whenever he sees a student, his mind pictures them holding a piece of paper which says "POTENTIAL". He believes every student is bright, smart, intelligent - whatever you want to call it. He does not give up on a student. He will work with them before school, during break, during lunch and after school to make sure that the student is working at the right level or finally understands a question. However, Aki does not have favourites. He will not pick out another student from the rest because he likes them more. He is unbiased.

Aki would always envy other teachers, whenever he saw one he would say to himself, how do I become that? Teachers are practically god to Aki, when he was younger he would look up to them, take as much knowledge as possible trying to be.. well.. them!

Aki does not believe in fate, he doesn't know what he wants to do in the future or what's going to happen. He believes that we should not care about the future but the present. He would always say, we cannot decide what happens in the future, we must focus on the present.

Scenarios:

You find a gang of delinquents in the hallway cursing and swearing, what do you do?: Firstly, I would walk up to them and ask them what they were cursing for and that it wasn't "cool" and you shouldn't do it. If they carry on I will give them a warning - and if they do it a third time, I would give them after school detention in my classroom. But, if they STILL carry on, I will escort them to a senior member of staff like a HD Teacher or the Vice-Principal.

No-one in your class is listening to a word you say, what do you do?: I would first start counting fairly loudly. (1, 2, 3, 4 etc..) and tell them for every minute they waste of my time, I will take out of there lunch time. If they carry on I will yell over there voices and tell them if they don't be quiet I will have to get a senior member of staff in the room. (However, who wouldn't want to take part in Drama!)

When in the teachers lounge, how does your character act?: I think my character would be quiet at times, but talkative at others. He would sit down and look professional whilst the Teachers speak, he will maybe write down what they're saying if it's important, plus he might ask about his class on that certain day.

Provide at least 5 detailed ./me's of your character inside a classroom:

1. /me does roll call and calls out every name in an orderly fashion
2. /me goes into his drawers and gets out a stack of books to hand out
3. /me does paper work whilst the class work in pairs on there act
4. /me claps swiftly at the students brilliant acting skills
5. /me looks happy as he hands out gold stars

Backstory

Aki Asu was born and raised up in Britain, he lived with his two brothers, his mum, his dad and random kids my parents looked after (they're childminders). Aki would always behave in his primary school lessons and look up to his teachers. One day, Aki's parents told him that he had to move to Japan, and more specifically - Karakura. Aki kept asking why but would only get a panicked face in return. The last words Aki got from his parents was, "It's not safe here anymore.." Day's had gone past, Aki was alone with a nanny in Japan worrying where his family was. Weeks had then passed, then years until the memory of his parents slowly disappeared. Aki moved to a high school called Taketatsu and met lots of new people. Good, friendly people who knew there way around the school and showed me around - out of the goodness of their hearts. It was different in Japan, scary even. More years had passed and with years come age, and with age comes death. The nanny Aki had grown to love had passed away. Aki could officially say, he was alone. Well, not completely. All his new friends had came to comfort him in Aki's time of need. He mourned for weeks. More years had passed and Aki had just got his degree in Teaching and Performing Arts. During this time Aki had learned to play three instruments. The cornet, the saxophone and the piano. Aki loved his instruments, it comforted him that he could teach himself a valuable art and that he could now teach other people valuable arts (now he has a teaching degree). It is now present day and Aki is in his house waiting for his teaching application to come through with his answer on it.

Also, I know that the drama teacher has temporarily resigned and that's another reason I applied, to make sure students still get taught Drama. Thanks for reading!
