[BIOGRAPHY] Noah Arai 에이

Level 19
NOAH ARAI 에이
----
Some background to listen to as you read, if you'd like. Pick your favorite.

Soft Mood
Classical Mood

Given Name
She was given the name Noah [Redacted]. However, after being adopted into the Arai family, her name became Noah Arai.

Nickname(s)
Can you really think of a nickname for a name as short as Noah?

Age
18, currently.

"Cut to the chase; here I am."

Appearance
She tends to be more on the petite side with slight curves; to her dismay, they unfortunately didn't come naturally at first. Nonetheless, her frame isn't too noticeable from an average distance, and is only ever outlined when she wears swimwear (one of the reasons she doesn't go swimming) or is seen up close. Noah's skin is rather soft and pale, dusted with freckles across her cheeks. She dwindles at the stature of 5"5, and usually carries the scent of some Burberry's 'Brit: For Her'. Her blue eyes almost have a figurative smooth "wave" to them, often seen in her minimal reactions or responses, complimentary to her soft wavy locks that are often styled down. More than not, she emulates her dainty personality by wearing muted yet suave colors, such as shades of royal blue and rich gray. Despite her poise, she still manages to seem lost, or sometimes idle at random intervals of time.

Date of Birth: April 20th

Place of Birth: [Redacted]

Nationality: South Korean/French

Race: Asian/European

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Religious Beliefs
"If there is a God, where are you now? What makes the other people more important? ..What can I do?"

Politics
She strongly believes in democracy, though will never share this idea out loud. This belief wavers from time to time, depending on her state of mind and the situation she is in.

---

Personality
On the surface, Noah behaves either her age, like a passive aggressive jerk, or a child. The kind of child that's like a tree. A tree in which its colors are supposed to change, as it grows, and the seasons change. But that tree refuses and instead pouts, unwilling and stubborn. Standing on the fence, all the time, soaking up the sun to become it herself for others. Some words flows out of her mouth meaning to have meaning, but it's difficult to make sense out of them. On the inside, to put it short- she deals with seasonal affectiveness disorder (SAD). Of course, she'd never let people in on any of this, and prefers to ignore this part of her life- and personality. Summing it up, she's occasionally the sunshine for everyone in the world who lives in a constant winter wonderland. But alas, Noah is stuck in an ice age.

Abnormalities: She was diagnosed with SAD as a child.

Voice: Similar to Nicole Dollanganger's but not too high pitched.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00oWTq3UuwM

Items of Value [can be subject to change.]
- She carries a plush teddy bear from her previous home. Often, she finds it hard to enjoy being a teenager and will sometimes attempt to briefly return to her childhood when she takes out the old bear.

Hobbies
Besides secretly singing and being kind of an asshole, she really has nothing else she looks forward to or likes. Surprisingly though, if you could even call it a hobby, she climbs the occasional tree or practices 'parkour' (fun fact: she went to the hospital after trying to climb up a lamppost with her sister Amoret, once.). Besides that, she interviews the citizens of Karakura in order to write "juicy" news reports like the reporter she is. She'll go along and pretend to enjoy something to have people believe she has a variety of interests, though.

Skills
- Due to her small and slim figure, Noah is rather agile for her age and can slip around most tight areas with ease. Her agility also comes from the fact that she used to be on the cheer team which involved the skill.
- Surprisingly she has a nice singing voice. Unfortunately, she only sings when she's truly alone.
- She excels in getting the information she wants, when she wants. This skill draws back to her occupation as a news reporter for Karakura News.

Family
She has barely any knowledge of her family besides her biological parents. Besides this, she is an adopted sister in the Arai family.

Noah Arai; A History
(disclaimer! my style of writing has no sort of strict rules, and this time it sounds?? vague? it's meant to convey how the character, noah, was left in the dark for most of her childhood. thus why there aren't large details in some parts. show, not tell.)

A Blessing

"Lights. Movements. Discussion. The day he said he loved me, my angel cried."

The young woman bawled her eyes out, but this was perhaps, a good thing. She wouldn't be able to see or feel how puffy and utterly disgusting she looked, during each scream for the anesthetic and yank for her husband. Her hair- matted, a rat's nest, deathbed couture. But his eyes- calming, focused, observing each movement while being careful to provide comfort when needed. At the very least the anesthetic arrived in time to ease the soon-to-be-mother's fits. Her partner would gingerly hold his wife's hand as the needle pierced her flesh and retracted afterwards. He took a long look, both at the obstetrician's sudden paleness and his oblivious wife's delight. And there it was, in soft, dainty arms. The thing.

Funny
"What an odd, little thing you are.. A flower? A football? No, no- forgive me; you poor, sickly, little.. Mongrel. Little mongrel."

It wiggled, it waggled. It even bit and chewed. However, it could either play with barbies or join its father for a game of catch- ah, wait.. poor thing, you never had a choice, did you? "Shh, dear. Don't wake the baby. Come on, off to bed you go." The husband chuckled softly, holding the paperwork under his coat as his wife was about to reach out to the couple's infant. That damned laugh, that damned comedian. Later, he shook off his jacket and let it shrug to the bed, putting it around his wife as he embraced her briefly. The pinstripe snugged around her like an uncomfortable turtleneck on a poor grandpa as she struggled to fight against it. The struggling became a fist fight in a matter of minutes, edged with hurtful words and noises. Noah wasn't old enough to remember why their father slaved hours on end in the study, or why he and their mother came at each other's neck; nor were they old enough to understand where they belonged.

"It- It. It. It." The man spat beneath his breath, as he exited through the front door the next day.

Documents
"She's imperfect, but she tries. She is messy, and won't ask for help. She is gone, but she used to be mine."

"Before we can begin the procedure, Mr. [redacted], both of their guardians will have to sign this paper. Sign here, and your wife signs there." He eagerly nodded, his hand whirling across the signature section almost aggressively. The thought of [redacted]'s pained, desperate, blushy face made his smile creek upwards a little; like one of those jagged looking doors in a cartoon. Though he straightened his expression immediately, a quick lick of his teeth recalibrating the man's composure. It would be better to savor the despair of his wife later.

She showed up a short while later, red bottoms and all. With a small tap on the lens of her glasses, as she usually did, she examined the area before stepping in. In her arms was a sleepy Noah, quietly babbling with the occasional spittle. Not a single cloud hung over her mother head as she walked to the desk and gave her signature delicately. The woman already knew what to do- she had envisioned it previously. Knowing a few people in the medical field was a tasteful plus, as well.

It wasn't long before the doctor entered the room to collect the spawn, making notes of its appearance and what it appeared to have and possess. Its traits, its laugh, its voice. Everything. But in the end, the judgement was made- their ****ysis was mostly in vain. Snip snip went the scalpel, plat plat went the flabby bits of flesh; into the titanium white trashbin.

Hours passed before they came out, one of the surgeons carefully cradling the newly-trimmed child. The lady smiled as she put Noah back in her mother's care, into her warm embrace.

"She's lovely, don't you think?"
"The doctor? I wouldn't go as far as to use lovely, but she's nice-"

"No, her. You know, our baby girl?"

[redacted] paused for a moment. He turned around, limbs locked like a rock. Fortunately, warm locks of brunette blocked Noah's view of behind the man's wife's shoulder. And the woman? Oh, she cried- her lips quivered, her bones shook as she got into the car with her daughter. Her car, her daughter.

And he never came back, not even to the house.

Beautiful Girl
"She wakes up all of the skeletons, every time I look at her. She's so alive in the places, everyone here has a hole."

Things stayed the same, after that. Her mother did the same and did what dad did, which was different. Because Noah was different. Eventually she was on her way to Karakura, a decently sized town in Japan. She wanted to be far away from her past, closer to where the future may be. It wasn’t an easy move by any stretch of the imagination, when thinking about fitting in, etc- or so she thought, before noticing other foreigners littering the location. Wow, what a concept!

And just when she thought she had burned her past in the wildfire within her head, a rather odd, putrid conversation allowed it to come back to haunt her.
"Are you a foreigner, hun? You don’t look like too many of the other people on this transit.. Where's your mumsy?"
Noah didn't pay any attention to the strange man on the train. He was frail, and scraggly. Like a tree, but not the tree children like to climb- more like your first choice for the catalyst of the wildfire. She fixated her eyes on the 'zine in her peachy little fingers. She wouldn't play this game; she instead tried to smoke his words in, burning them alive.
"No answer, eh? Where are you going though, Nagoya? Tokyo? Okazaki? Or, where are you from, hun?”
And truth be told, she didn't know where she was going, where her 'mumsy' was, or where she was really from. At the very least she knew this wasn't a Q&A, because she had no answers she could give, willingly or
not.

[To be edited upon as she continues to be alive, and exist.]

Alina R. Arai
"I may hate you sometimes,
but I'll always love you."

@Aly
Alina and Noah are as close as sisters can get. Despite not being related by blood, they continue to support each other as if they were. Noah's older sister was there for her in her darkest hours; in return, Noah would swear to be completely honest with her as she was to the girl herself. Honesty was something Noah was never good at or with and was rarely truthful in her words to others- but for Alina and what she had done- she saw nothing more valuable to give. It came in handy one time, at a time where things had become heavy for her sister. But that time is to not be spoken of, not ever- ever. Bringing it up could cause strain on their relationship, so the duo prefer to ignore it and leave the past in somewhat denial.

Luna Otsuka
"Little bird that I heard,
Singing from the oak tree.
Whistling to your sweet melody."

@aesthxtic_luna
In the beginning, both parties restricted themselves to friendly small talk and the usual 'hello', often sticking to regular formalities most acquaintances have in regards to one another. As the two got more comfortable seeing each other in the same locations and such, they began to speak on the regular. Noah grew to see Luna as a motherly figure she could confide in and generally like the company of. Luna didn't judge, and treated Noah fairly- no sugarcoating attached. However, after Otsuka revealed she had gotten married and was pregnant, a paranoid part of Noah distracted her from fully being happy for her friend. She wondered if this would cause her to forget about their friendship; but alas- the girl tries her best to ignore this and be cheerful when pressed about the matter. For now they seem to be generally good, though.

Jonathan Valentine
"You never thought you'd be much good for anyone,
But that's so far from the truth."

@Dumbrarere
Originally, Jonathan wasn't a necessarily huge part of Noah's life- they merely hung out in similar friend groups and such. Until later down the line when she was caught up in a series of unfortunate scenarios. Noah bottled up her feelings and had nowhere else to go, and her friend just happened to be there at the moment she first cracked. From her short-lived woe over being kicked from the cheer team to the mysterious disappearance of her s/o (which she grew to get over, eventually.), Jonny was there to cheer her up and feel more like herself again. He knows things about her that nobody else may have known. Likewise, she knows things about him that nobody else may know. Besides that, they're often found having deep conversations, somehow every time they meet. She considers him to be extremely close to her- and from her observations, speculates that the feeling is mutual. Said observations being the amount of care and respect he shows for her, even in her ugliest moments. Jonathan is one of the rare people she doesn't mind allowing to see her flaws or vulnerable parts of her personality, regarding him as one in the minority of her trusted people.

(if you have a character that knows Noah and vice versa, hmu on my disc to be added in the future uwu.)

What Noah carries on her, likes, etc. Somewhat of a collage or aesthetic mostly, if you will.

Visually appealing, well written, although would like to see more splits in paragraphs / indents, because it’s all one big chunk of writing, besides that, great bio!
