In as much detail as possible, describe the role of your chosen school employee: School lunch monitors are responsible for many things, student behavior during lunch time being foremost. It is crucial for school lunch monitors to make sure that the lunchroom is safe for students for which they need to ensure that any equipment or furniture that they use is properly maintained. They need to possess exceptional interpersonal skills as they need to ensure positive interaction with students at all times. One of the primary skills that an employer looks for when hiring a school lunch monitor is reasoning ability as they often have to indulge in dialogue to resolve behavioral issues.

Do you have any past experience in this type of roleplay?: No, unfortunately, this would be my first time doing something like this, but I hope for this to be a new kind if roleplay that I have the chance to experience.

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?: Before joining SRP, I had no experience in roleplaying. I came to SRP pretty clueless, but I was able to catch on to how things worked within about a week. I am pretty adept, and have read through all the rules pretty thoroughly, so I have gotten pretty good at it. I joined on I think February 10, 2018, and I have even had a staff member give me props for my roleplay style.

Are you familiar with what your job does? If so, describe it:

-Supervise students during meal service including when they are in queues.
-Ensure that students behave correctly when partaking meals.
-Maintain general discipline in the cafeteria by ensuring that every student is seated properly at his or her designated place.
-Assist students in securing trays and handling seating arrangements.
-Make sure that all equipment such as water dispensing machine is maintained properly in order to avoid injuries.
-Ensure that cafeteria furniture is in good repair and is safe to use.
-Assist cafeteria staff in cleaning spills. Make sure that cafeteria is a safe environment for students by handling maintenance and cleanliness needs appropriately.
-Intervene in fights or arguments between students and make sure that no one is physically hurt. ------Report any unruly behavior to school management or class teacher.
-Assist students in warming up their meals and making sure that they operate microwaves and other equipment safely.
-Inform supervisor of any damages to school property.
-Circulate through the cafeteria to ensure supervision of all students within the area.
-Dismiss students from the lunch room in an orderly fashion when lunchtime ends.
-Respond to emergency situations such as injuries or food allergies in a proactive manner.

[Situations]

During a workshift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how do you react?:

I will keep my composure, and make sure to let the principal know about this students behavior, and let them deal with the student accordingly. Or I’ll simply get a teacher to take them to detention, nevertheless I’ll continue doing my job without being bothered by the student(s).

You are doing a hazardous job requested by the School Principal, how do you react?:

Of course I take the job, and before I start working, I will set all necessary safety precautions, as well as block off the area to students and other staff, then make sure I take care of the job carefully, then when I finish, I will make sure to clean up after myself.

Another school employee is doing something very dangerous on the job or acting out of order, how do you react?:

I’ll confront the teacher about the issue, and tell them that what they’re doing is wrong, and that they need to stop it. I will also need to inform the principal of whatever the school employee is doing to be sure they will be dealt with accordingly.

Applicant Name:
Lorenzo Rossi

Chosen Job: Lunchtime Monitor

Motivation for Joining YHS: YHS has been an influence on me since I was younger. I like this school since I attended it in my younger years. It's sophisticated, and very well kept. I've always wanted to be a part of it and be able to do something useful in this school as well. Also, I am a little used to work like this since I worked as security at so many places when I was a teen. I know it's not exactly the same thing, but in both scenarios, I played a peacekeeper role to others around me, and I was pretty good at it.

Age: 37

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?: I don't want to imply that I can be better than anyone else who applies, because there will always be someone better, but I can ensure that I will be active enough for this job. I'm ready to put the time in ad do it right. I already have a decent know-how for this job, so I'll do my best to do it well.

Thank you for reading, and for your consideration.
