Trivia

What is your motivation for becoming a teacher?: I feel like I have much to offer. I also do music out of character, I have over 5 years of experience with just music theory and instrument playing. Additionally, I want a better music program at our school, I have a feeling that I can use my music information to create a nice music environment. I want to make bigger programs as well, like a jazz band or marching band which I will talk more about later.

Do you have any experience in Roleplaying?: Yes.

Have you read the Faculty Handbook?: No, I haven’t, the forum won’t open up so I have no way of reading it.

What are the classroom logs and why is it important?:

You want to start a school field trip; how do you do that?: Arrange a time and place first, then talk to the school administrators about it. I’d convince them why I think it is important for the students to go to the field trip as well. In terms of music, I would be planning concerts at the theatre. So, I would speak to the people who run the theatre and see if they are willing to open it up for a performance.

As a teacher, what are the strict rules when being in a class?:

1. Making sure one has a respectful attitude towards others

2. Arriving to class EARLY. It has been proven that students are to be more disciplined when arriving to class early. Although this is a more personal rule and not completely necessary, it’s nice to have this either way.

3. Staying on task and paying attention to the teacher

4. Do your best to keep a learning mindset

5. (in terms of music) Treat instruments with care!

6. Do not judge the one who is struggling in class, it destroys confidence.

It is important to be a good role in society by following these rules. The rules help students build character, and teach them discipline.

Summarize your previous RP experience (both in general and on SchoolRP): I used to rp on creative servers, it was kind of cringe but that’s really where I learned the basics. I’ve been roleplaying since I was 11, really. I currently role play as a news reporter on my alt, and I’m really looking forward to maybe becoming a teacher! I’m pretty experienced with role-playing and know what I’m doing, I also never fail to make a nice, detailed action. I still practice a lot by playing on the server to improve my detail and quality!

Describe the ranking system of teachers:

- HD: Head of the department. This job is a leadership ranking, the person that runs the entire department. This ranking makes all of the decisions, ranging from financial decisions to knowledge transfers.

- QTLS: Qualified Teacher Learning Skills. Unlike the qualified teacher, this rank is more of a professional one, having PGCE completed.

- NQT: Newly Qualified Teacher. This is the most basic teacher ranking. It is necessary to be an NQT to at least work in primary or secondary school, but

Teacher Knowledge

Present to us your knowledge about Teachers in-game and out-of-game, what purpose do teachers serve. What salary do they get? Include a paragraph about the way teachers teach, what they do in their spare time in general.
Although teachers are oftentimes well educated and trained, work can sometimes be a struggle for them. Whether that means going home frustrated from a long lesson you planned with care which nobody paid attention to, or just having to deal with the rude disrespectful in class. But, this should not be an excuse for a teacher to be a bad one per se. Teachers should be aware of the situation, struggles, and stresses students face and use it as a motivation to be the teacher everyone loves! I believe it is necessary for teachers to teach in a way where students will enjoy it. A class should be a time where one goes excited to learn something new, not seen as an obligation that the students are forced to do. It varies from teacher to teacher. Some teachers spend their afternoons screaming into pillows after grading long, crappy written essays about some poet speaking nonsense that died 200 years ago. Others go on respectfully home to go on with their day, but making sure they are careful of every action as they are always someone that somebody, whether that means a grown adult or a young child, will look up to. But as mentioned before, it varies on the teacher. In this case, music teachers spend their time finding inspiration in what's around them to arrange music, creating concerts around thematic ideas they form outside of school.

Why are teachers important to a SchoolRP server?: It’s in the name. What is a school role play without teachers? Teachers play a big role. One of the many things they do is set an example to those around them, many actions a teacher does is an example many children look up to as a role model. Additionally, teachers do their best to prepare those for the future, whether that is to help prepare them to be a famous big shot businessman or just your average office worker joe.

What lesson planning system does the school work on?: I do not know. It’s not because I am too lazy to research anything, but I haven’t seen any answers to these questions anywhere. If it’s on one of the documents, the documents are broken and links don’t work, so. If I knew I would definitely build more on this section, but I honestly don’t.

Character Knowledge

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. How does he look like? What makes him unique and different? What is his outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is his personality like? What is his plan for the future?

Yuri Kuznetsov is a 6’5 Russian-Korean male. At first glance, he would appear to be Korean, but his Russian accent would surprise you. He has very attractive facial features and a serenading tenor voice. He has a mesomorphic build, being very fit and athletic although a music teacher. He smells of men's cologne most of the time. Although often times a joker with school staff and students, Yuri knows how to be a loyal hard working man, knowing when to flip the switch. Although at first, he seems to be laidback, Yuri is serious about music. He is a dominant male in the school, knowing how to make his students love, yet fear him at the same time in a good way. He knows how to be on top of things, and is very responsible, which is a surprising thing to many. He is simply unique because he is a fun-loving guy, yet always seems to dominate to the top. He sees each and every individual student as a change in the future. He wants to do his best to help guide them to a successful, healthy life. He knows every single one of his students has the potential to be great since he is completely aware of his dominant yet fun teaching methods. At first glance at the school, Yuri has a lot of plans for the school. As mentioned before, he wants to create more meaning, he wants to create a name for the music program and what it means to be a musician. Currently, the school has a small music program. It isn’t well known for the arts, mostly for its football team. But, Yuri wants to change that. He wishes to create and construct more music programs for the students. One of which is a jazz band. Jazz is Yuri’s favorite genre and art to teach. Personally, he has played the tenor saxophone in jazz combos throughout his childhood and adult life. And, as a child, he marched in high school. He wants to form a marching band program because it is a disciplinary art, it forms a student’s identity as if it were a sport, but at the same time not being one.

Scenarios

You find a gang of delinquents in the hallway cursing and swearing, what do you do?: I pull them aside and point out if they realize what they are doing is wrong. I warn them to watch their language, and let them go with a warning. If I run into them again, I pull them into a classroom and give them a whole lecture about how disrespectful it really is to swear.

No one in your class is listening to a word you say, what do you do?: Call them out for it, and tell them that if they’re wasting my time they’re wasting their own time as well because I’m here to help them, they aren’t there to help me. If they decide not to pay attention, it’s mostly their problem. Although yes, I could get fired for not doing my job, really they are more important in this kind of situation.

When in the teacher's lounge, how does your character act?: He isn’t a serious, sophisticated type. He’s known as the fun guy everyone looks forward to seeing at the break. He knows how to keep a positive attitude and environment and knows how to make a person laugh, aware of the stress many teachers go through with students.

Provide at least 5 detailed /me's of your character inside a classroom:

/me He pulls out the music score and flips through the parts and hands out an individual part to the corresponding instrument.

/me He draws two music staffs, one with a bass clef and the other with a treble clef, writing out a B flat concert scale in each clef.

(In this scenario, I’ll be observing a saxophone) /me He opens the student's instrument case, pressing down keys and bending at the octave pin to find what is wrong with it.

/me He’d be sitting at his desk, looking through and annotating sheet music and scores, reading through each fermata, repeat, accidental, codas, and tempos.

/me He conducts in 4/4 time, emphasizing accents and loud dynamic his movements on each beat to convey the message; his baton would go up high on beat 4 to signal the students that beat 1 is coming up.

Backstory

(apologies for making this sooooo long)
Starting way back in Russia. Yuri was born a child of a Korean mother and a Russian father, in St. Petersburg, a port city of the Baltic sea. (As mentioned in my Russian language app), Yuri was born into his father's cod fishing business, working as a deckhand on the ship. He disliked it, but his father always saw it as a way to form character within him. Ignorant of his father's attempt to teaching him the philosophies of life, Yuri would often dawdle and question life as he grew, hanging around musical bands and others who also questioned it. He learned how to play guitar, at first. His foolish, yet innocent young self saw the guitar as a "serenading" instrument, one the ladies would fall in love over. This often led to fights with his father, his father would always be pushing him to become the business owner of his cod fishing business, but Yuri always wanted to be a star. The more he grew, the more rebellious he became, running away from home and often times sailing out on his sailboat in the bay to spend the nights with himself and his guitar. After a while of rebelling, Yuri meets a girl with similar ideals in life. Her name was Annika. She sees society as a strict order, inspiring Yuri with romantic ideas. She aspired to become a poet as an adult and would begin to run off with Yuri on his sailboat, listening to his serenades and love songs as she laughed and wrote literature. After some time, Annika's father figured out who she had been with, yelling at Yuri to stay away from her, and moving to a different town as he believed that he was an influence of Annika's "crazy" thoughts, although it was the other way around. Yuri grows depressed, going back to his family hopeless. His father realizes that he wasn't building Yuri's character, but rather destroying it and fragmenting his hopes and dreams. He begins to support Yuri, apologizing for every hardship he has given Yuri. He grows throughout secondary school to become a scholar, becoming very nuanced in Russian literature, and also following his musical passion. At first, after graduating from secondary school, Yuri longed to become a music star since he was a little boy. But, he was never cut out for it. Although he always had a passion to become great, he realized that couldn’t be accomplished. This wasn't because of his musical talent, the boy was very talented, but where he lived at the time it was hard to become a big star. So, he takes a few months contemplating what he will do for life. Then he realizes his other passion; making people smile, laugh, and just helping people in a positive way. So, he goes to college to work hard to learn as much about music as he can so he can be the well-rounded music teacher many employers would look for. At first, he would teach at a jazz observatory, having a master class for young jazz musicians aspired to be something more. But, he only taught the lesser jazz class, although he felt that he had way more potential than his current coworkers saw in him. Wanting to be more, he moved on to find a greater job. He wanted to become a leader, a bigger role model to people, so he goes out to Karakura in search of a job, seeing the opening of the head of the department role for music.

- Nice application, but the music department is currently full.

Good luck in the future!
