If you can be anything in the world...

Let's pretend for a moment.

One day you wake up and a genie appears to you and says "I have been summoned to change you into something or someone else, who or what do you want to be?"

How would you respond? What would you want to be? Why do you want to be that thing?

I'd have to say that if I could be anything in the world, I'd be a rainbow. Rainbows represent a few things. Aside from the lovely obvious answer [I love you all LGBT+ friends], Rainbows can represent life. They sometimes come after a storm. The storm represents the hardships in life, whether it's school, family, friends or even work, those hard times are going to be there. We push through the storm, deal with the rain and clouds. Eventually, we get to the sweetness. The relief that the storm is finally gone, we can just enjoy the colors. The rainbow representing a gift of relief, of happiness, of relaxation.

That's my response. How about you?

A good question, one that I'm not entirely sure on how to answer. I think I'd just want to be myself, but better equipped to help people with their problems.

Honestly, I've never approached a question like this. It's hard to choose to be ANYTHING in my perspective, but i would totally be myself and be a helping hand to my peers, something like Vex has mentioned.

this is quite the hard decision to make. like, in a public setting id give a vague answer but to give it genuine thought? i hardly know.

i want to be a bird; I don’t care what breed, but make it a decently nice one. perhaps a bird of paradise, because they’re happy and they’re free from troubles that other breeds might face. they are the ones that really dance like nobody’s watching. i wish i had that quality, that confidence. birds live easier lives than us humans, and i guess i love them for that. birds might have their own struggles but they’re easier to deal with than ours. depression, world hunger, war between countries, organ trafficking– do these feathered dorks have to deal with that or have it rest on their shoulders like a heavy burden? no. they fly, eat, and do what birds do. and that sounds pleasant to me.

tl;dr, big feather thing with beak mouth is cool.

So, here's my viewpoint on the matter.

If I was going to be anything, anything at all - I think I would be the rain. It's calming, soothing and the music it makes when it calls upon the ground and other objects is beautiful. Furthermore, it is sometimes accompanied by its best friend, lightning. It isn't always there, which makes it an even rarer sight to see. However, this doesn't mean that it's a sight you only see once in a blue moon - it's reoccurring.

Interesting conversation choice. I like to see what people thing and how they view things!

Sweet :) My second choice would’ve been a bird.

That’s a good choice. Weather choices seem to have deep responses. I thought of this last night while I was starting at a blank screen while heavily sleep deprived. I have more questions to ask the community :) Hope you are around to possibly answer those.

Weather is very sensory and emotional, hence why there's a whole technique dedicated to it. It's the perfect way to further enhance and mirror situations in writing. This is because as you mentioned, it is "deeped".

Weather is a lovely thing and I’m glad we have it. Do you ever find yourself in deep thought while looking outside your window at the type of day it is? Lately, I’ve been thinking about my attitude towards things while viewing the snow or rain. Once in a while, I smell the scent of summer. Do you know what summer smells like? It’s hard to explain. It’s like grass and flowers type of smell, along with the mist in the air.

I can relate to that, yes. It's just peaceful, which allows for thoughts to emerge without hesitation. It's in many ways, one of the most "relatable" things, in a way. I'm not sure if you understand as to why I deem it as relatable but I assume it is.

I believe I do understand in a way. People do have similar thoughts and sometimes similar experiences.

To some extent, correct. In the sense that we all feel and react to the situations around us, yes.

The weather and nature responses all connect. Looking back at it now, I’d like to add a new response. I’d want to be a pencil. People don’t really notice but pencils help you a lot. Pencils let you express yourself through drawing or writing. I’d like to be something that helps others express themselves. Not to mention, pencils come is a ton of designs. :)
