School Employee Role you are Applying For: Janitor
How often do you log onto the server?: Mostly, I am on midday (12PM - 9PM) to midnight (11PM - 4AM), and will remain active on the server for several hours a day. There may be some days though where I won’t be on until later hours, but I normally come online every day.
Forumwise, I do not post often unless they are reports or applications. It will not be a problem for me to become more active if necessary, but I normally check the forums at least once everyday.
Starting October 1st, I will become more active.

Do you have a microphone? Yes, I do have a microphone. Starting October 1st, I may not be able to join as many calls/use this microphone.
Have you ever been banned, If yes when and why?: I was only banned once, back in 2016 for three hours because I FailRPed. I have never been banned since, and I apologize for my mistakes in the past. I have learned from then not to do what I had done.
Can you ensure that you will often come on: Yes, especially with October around the corner and considering my current /ar.
Do you recognise that you can be ICly fired?: Yes.
In as much detail as possible, describe the role of your chosen school employee: A janitor is a role for someone who is meant to clean up or care for the environment they are set to work in. Janitors can also be referred to as “custodians,” as their job is to keep a place in order. Often they will be seen with cleaning supplies where there are open areas, and taking care of certain messes that occur throughout the building.
A group of janitors is its own beautification committee: they care about making the school look attractive from outside and inside. Most janitors tend not to talk to the students, as that isn’t a part of their job. The only reason why they go to the school building is to tend to whatever is necessary.
Janitors do all sorts of work that aren’t just “cleaning.” They vacuum the carpet, empty the trash bins, restock necessary items for the restrooms, and even raise or lower flags for schools. Janitors, in their own way, are the delivery managers to the shop owners, the shop owners being anyone else attending Karakura High. People with this role/job make their job facility a better place to be.
Do you have any past experience in this type of roleplay?: I do not have any past experience in roleplay as a janitor, but I do have roleplay experience in being a young adult/adult. A few months ago, I had a 46 year old character named Amadeo who owned a brunch place that was known for its waitresses with different personalities. He continues to be one of my favorite characters today even though I can no longer use him, and now I want to try something different with this young adult character. Obviously, this character won’t have a lot of experience in basic social situations, yet strives to be the more mature one when up against someone younger than her.
My main account, Erove, is currently nineteen years in age, so I would say that I have enough experience as a young adult to assume the role of this character. My main reasoning for wanting to have a janitor character was that I would have an adult character involved with the school for the first time, which is something I’ve wanted for awhile (I’ve considered making a teacher character in the past).
What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?: I have over two years of roleplay experience, specifically in SchoolRP. I used to roleplay on other servers in the past, but there were different types then and I can personally say I wasn’t the best. Sometimes, I do Discord RP, but it isn’t common, since most of my roleplay experience and roleplay in general comes from SchoolRP.
I have 94 characters (including my janitor one) with different backstories, personalities, and appearances. Many of them are related to each other, but most of them are in their own families/have shared siblings with another person that isn’t me OOCly. I have used almost all of these characters on SchoolRP (some I am not able to use due to the rules regarding powergaming, and some I haven’t created skins for since they’re very old).
Are you familiar with what your job does? If so, describe it: I am familiar with what my job does. A janitor’s role in a school building is to create a welcoming environment for students by tidying up and tending the place if there is anything that requires fixing, cleaning, or tending. Without janitors, schools wouldn’t be able to function properly due to likely filth.
Examples of what janitors do are below.
- Clean up after students’ lunch period.
- Tidy classrooms/set them for the next day.
- Sweep the hallways for litter.
- Sweep the campus for litter/any other objects.
- In some cases, the janitors will mow the lawn. This isn’t too likely.
- Clean the restrooms and restock both with necessary equipment (soap, toilet paper, feminine products).
- Monitor the air conditioning/heating use and monitor its system.
- Emptying recycling bins and trash bins.
- Clean up after the chefs in the cafeteria.
- Sanitizing in general.
- Lowering and raising the flags.
- Locking the doors at the end of the day, unlocking at the beginning. This means that the janitor has to arrive earlier than everyone else does, similar to the teachers.
[Situations]
During a workshift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how do you react?: As my character, Rainbow, I would raise my voice in a collected manner and ask them that they please do not say this. If they were to continue, that would be where discipline as to be in place. I would bring this situation to a higher-up (teacher, secretary) and ask for their opinion on the matter and what should be done. If the student continues, my character will issue a detention. As a school employee, you still need to discipline students.
You are doing a hazardous job requested by the School Principal, how do you react?: As Rainbow, I would ask if there were any easier alternatives to doing this task. If there weren’t any other way to complete what is necessary, I would ask for help from the other janitors or another employee that is willing to help out. If there is absolutely no way I can gain help, the best thing for my character to do is try to not cause any more problems than there already are with the hazardous job. After all, part of the janitor’s job is to get involved with the mess.
Another school employee is doing something very dangerous on the job or acting out of order, how do you react?: As Rainbow, I would approach the employee carefully and ask how they’re doing and make sure they’re okay. If they refuse to tell why, don’t have a reason, or show more signs of threatening behavior, I would bring the situation to the secretary or the school nurse (school nurse if they are acting out of the order). As a janitor, it isn’t my character’s responsibility to get involved with what may be wrong with a person, but more so the place around them.

Chosen Job: Janitor
Motivation for Joining YHS: My motivation for choosing this job at Karakura High is because I used to attend this school in my younger years, and I wouldn’t mind nor resent coming back for a small side job as a janitor. For one, I find myself experienced when it comes to basic cleaning and organizing. My sister, Miao, and I both find this the****utic and laidback for a job. Not only am I interested in being a janitor for this reason, but part of me would like to see the new students that come to this school and see how they grow. I will not be working this job forever, but I know that while I’m stuck in that purgatory between college and adulthood, I would like some place to go to.
The school was welcoming community during my years here, and the school continues to update greatly to this day. If anything, I’d like to believe that the new students to Karakura High are very lucky to be in such a developed and advanced building full of education opportunities I didn’t have in the past. I don’t believe that being a janitor here would cause many problems for me, and if anything, it would make my life better than it is currently, as I find myself distancing more and more from civilians in Karakura.
With this job, I hope to become more sociable and active in community efforts. I hope that becoming a janitor will slowly pave me in the direction of what jobs I am planning for in the future.

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?: I’ve realized that not many people believe that becoming a janitor is a glorious job that deserves praise, and I may say the same myself. As of right now, I’m looking for a job that can supply tuition for both my sister and myself as we slowly find out who we are and what direction we want to turn our lives to. As of right now, being in a facility made for education seems like the most fit for me.
I should be accepted over the other applicants because this job is not just because I know that this job isn’t necessarily just to create some time in between my college and adult life, but more of a way to find some new people who can bring me to adult life.
