Kailani Castilla was born in Madrid, Spain's capital city in a wealthy family. She stayed with her father and her siblings for almost all her life. She only knew of her mother, she'd never met or seen her any pictures of her, she died of an unknown reason at an early age. The Castillas grew up having barely anyone to raise them, as their father was always occupied with his business. He's a man who doesn't commit to anything, he's remarried about 4 times and has made countless mistakes throughout his life, he was a very broken man. His children had no choice but to be independent.
At the age of 13, Kailani first began to realize that her father wasn't the loving man she knew, in fact, he was a psychopath. From verbal harassment to even sexual abuse, these were the ways he had been treating the family. It look Kailani long enough to realize this, only because she couldn't believe her father would do such unpleasant things to his own family. But then again, it's not like he cared for them anyway.
In the year 2015, Kailani's sister, Nadia ran away from Spain, this was very unexpected. She left all her friends and family behind with nothing but questions. The Castillas spent days and weeks trying to contact Nadia, but there was no way to find her. Until one unexpected day, Kailani got a phone call from Nadia. She explained to Kailani that she had moved to Japan, she couldn't take the way their father was treating her and her family but she was guilty that she left her siblings with him. Nadia made sure all of her sisters and brothers would be able to make it out of Spain safely to Japan.
It wasn't easy for the Castillas to start fresh and adapt to the new exotic environment so easily. They spent most of their time talking in Spanish until they were better at Japanese. Soon, they made new friends, found new jobs and had a better lifestyle. But the fear, knowing that their father is still out there doing who-knows-what, it stays with them everyday.
