Backstory:
Marzia Accardi was born in Palmero, Sicily and at the age of 4 her Grandmother and Mother taught her how to sew. Marzia grew up in the city and spent a lot of time with her large family. Marzia's Family was fairly Rich given her Grandmother was an opera singer when she was younger and her grandfather was a wealthy buisness man, Marzia's mother owned her own bridal shop but Marzia's Father was never talked about. all she knew about her father was that he made large child support payments. Marzia had always wondered and dreamed about who her father was but when she asked her mother she would just get silence in return. She spent the most time with her cousin Marcella who was only a week younger than Marzia. They would spend the days playing pretend, cooking and baking, and making memories but as they got older Marcella made other friends while Marzia spent most of her time alone sewing. Marcella had always been outgoing and vibrant while Marzia was quiet and shy. Marzia and Marcella began to drift apart and Marzia grew angry that Marcella chose to hang out with her friends rather than her. Consumed by jealousy and loneliness Marzia would continue to shut herself off from her family and one day when Marzia was the age of 12 her mother received a phone call that Marcella was in the hospital. Marcella was diagnosed with an unknown spine disease that left her in a coma for a week when she unexpectedly passed in the hospital. After Marcella's death Marzia was never the same she stopped sewing and doing all the things she did with Marcella and began to bury herself in religion as a way to cope. Every night she would dream of her cousin and through those dreams she realized Marcella would not want her to suffer in sadness. Marzia started to force herself to smile and reach out to the people around her and she found happiness in the new found confidence. At the age of 15 Marzia and her mother moved to Japan after Marzia's Mother was offered a job in Karakura. Marzia had a hard time learning the language and suppressing her thick accent. She had a hard time making friends but she met a boy who seemed to have an interest in her. He was much older than her and used her naiveness to his advantage. He was extremely abusive and finally ended things by cheating on her and breaking up with her on her 16th birthday. Even though Marzia was deeply in love with this man she couldn't seem to cry... she just smiled.
