Trivia

What is your motivation for becoming a teacher?: I have been roleplaying for a little under a year now. Since I joined, I have had the default rank of '17'/'18' for a long time and I would love to change it up a little by acting as a more mature and older character. Becoming a teacher would expand my ability to roleplay on this server and other servers because if I am honest, I am not the best and I feel becoming a teacher will widen my roleplaying skills a lot and will help to to improve.

Do you have any experience in Roleplaying?: Yes, I have been roleplaying for around 4-5 years in total. That is including servers that are not SRP. SRP in general, I have been roleplaying on here for a little under a year and I would like to continue to.

Have you read the Faculty Handbook?: Yes. I made sure to read it through twice to get a good understanding of what would be asked of me as a teacher. If I am ever in need of any information, I will be sure to read back at it. (If needed I will also print out a copy of it so I always have it and can keep looking back at it if need be.)

What are the classroom logs and why is it important?: Classroom logs are what you use when you have finished teaching a class. It also contains plans for classes that you are going to teach. The logs will help you a lot to stay organised and will make the job more efficient. It will also make it easier for other staff members keep track of what you have been doing and what the students have been doing. The classroom logs are also important because they help the principal(s) check that all of the teachers are doing their job correctly.

You want to start a school field trip; how do you do that?: If I wanted to start a field trip, I would fill out the application on the forums and wait for the head masters approval. After it has been approved I would go over the rules that the children would have to stick to, to ensure that the children will not cause any trouble or get themselves hurt.

As a teacher, what are the strict rules when being in a class?:
1) Phones are to be turned off, unless the student has permission from the teacher to have it on.
2) Students must show respect for all teachers and their classmates.
3) Do not shout out. Raise your hand.
4) No bad language will be tolerated within class walls.
5) No drugs, alcohol or smoking in the classroom or on the school grounds for that matter.
6) You are not to leave your seat unless you have been told to do something by a member of staff.
7) Food and drink are banned from the classroom unless it is a bottle of water.
8) All homework and classwork is to be completed with no excuses.
9) Keep the classroom tidy at all times, if you make a mess, make sure to clean up after yourself.
10) Show a positive attitude towards learning, always work hard.

Summarise your previous RP experience's (both in general and on SchoolRP): I have been a playing SchoolRP for a little under a year. I have never really thought of being a teacher because I liked the thought of being a student for as long as possible. Being a teacher in my opinion would widen my horizons and knowledge of role play as I continue to play on this and possibly other servers. Everything I have learned about roleplay I have got from joining SchoolRP. With not be being apart of the server for that long I will admit my roleplaying skills are not the best, but I am up to learning more.

Describe the ranking system of teachers:

- HD: Head of Department. This role is the head of a subject. They are in charge of guiding lessons and education. The Head of Department helps the QTLS and the NQT's to make sure they are on task and to make sure they have the knowledge they need to teach their own class.

- QTLS: Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills is a teacher that has permission to teach a subject without needing permission from the Head of Department. Unlike the NQT's, help from the Head of Department isn't needed.

- NQT: A Newly Qualified Teacher is a teacher that must have guidance from the Head of Department. The Head of Department may also give tips and help guide their class. They must also have granted permission from the Head of Department to start/teach their class.

Teacher Knowledge

Present to us your knowledge about Teachers in-game and out-of-game, what purpose do teachers serve. What salary do they get? Include a paragraph about the way teachers teach, what they do in their spare time in general.
A teachers in-game and in real life purpose is to make sure the students are working hard and have the students best interest at heart, ensuring they have a bright future ahead of them. They are also there to make sure that the new and old students are learning all they need to know about the subject they are learning, making them learn new things which they will need in their future. Many students are scared of the more stricter teachers because they are harder on the students more than other teachers. The job of the more stricter teachers isn't to scare the students, but to push them to the best of their ability. This brings out the more smarter side to most students. Later on in a students life, they look back on what the strict teachers made them do in lesson and realise that they got them where they are in the present day. In real life, teachers make around £23,720 to £29,664 depending on location. In a teachers spare time, they basically do what everyone else does. They get work done at home, such as grading students work, planning lessons and making sure that they are not making things too difficult for their class. They go shopping for food, they look after their children if they have any and they have relationships. Teachers do a lot of things outside of school grounds that most other people do. Teachers are known to be able to teach in many different ways. Some teachers go easy on students and do less work and more fun things such as field trips, computer work and much more. Some teachers may come across snobby when teaching but that is their preferred way of teaching, if they think the way they teach will help students, then they will teach that way. SchoolRP teachers have the same purpose and responsibilities as a in real life teacher, making sure the students of Taketatsu High School are being respectful to others and are working hard at all times. On SchoolRP, a teacher earns around 10,000-100,000 yen depends on their activity on the server. If you are doing your job properly and are sticking to the school rules, your wages may raise.

Why are teachers important to a SchoolRP server?: Teachers are one of the most important things on SchoolRP for many reasons. One being that the name of the server is literally, "SchoolRp", meaning the server is based around a school-like environment. Upon joining the server for the first time, the first thing the new player sees is the school.Students on the server put their trust in teachers, because they are there to learn. A teachers duty is to ensure all students are safe on school grounds, to ensure the school is a happy and safe place to be at all times and to make sure that people of the server are making interactions with other people around them, and most importantly, learning new things. In order for a person to learn new things in the school, you obviously need a teacher to teach you these new things. Without teachers in the school, the school would be pretty empty and would have no activity on the school grounds, leaving that area feeling very empty.

What lesson planning system does the school work on?: The school on this server works on the 'MoSCo' lesson planning system, which stands for: must have, should have, could have.

Character Knowledge

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. How does he look like? What makes him unique and different? What is his outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is his personality like? What is his plan for the future?
Scott Emerson is a 27 year old man born in New York, but based in London, meaning he has a pretty strong British accent. He left London to get a more permanent job in Karakura, teaching English to the students of Karakura. He had a lot of knowledge of the subject as he did very well in school when he himself was a student back at his hometown. Scott Emerson would be a young looking man with very nice brown eyes and dirty blonde hair. He'd be standing at 6'3", weighing 152lbs with a muscular build. He'd have a somewhat pale skin tone but his sharp facial featured would go unnoticed. He's have a calm, deep voice that was somewhat soothing. Scott has always had an understanding on how to teach young children as he helps his own children and nieces and nephews with their school work. Scott isn't as scary as he looks. Once you get to know him he is kind, caring and above anything, he is really funny when he wants to be. He takes his work very seriously, ensuring he doesn't make any mistakes. His dream job is to teach children English because it's one of the most desirable things he would like to do. He has children and a fiance to look out for and feed so the money he could earn from the job would help him out a lot. Above all he just wants to make sure the students he would be teaching have a bright future ahead of them and they don't go down the wrong path.

Scenarios

You find a gang of delinquents in the hallway cursing and swearing, what do you do?:
I would approach them calmly and politely ask them to stop cursing and swearing on school grounds, as it doesn't look good on the school and isn't the correct behaviour. If they continue, I would contact a higher member of staff and let them handle the situation. If they continue I would have no problem escorting them off of school grounds and handing them a detention. If after the detention they continue the behaviour, I will take them into a room out of the way of students and I would have a word with them about the consequences, such as a longer detention, suspension and exclusion from the school.

No one in your class is listening to a word you say, what do you do?: I would raise my voice to ensure I have their attention. If the students proceed to ignore me I would clap my hands or whistle to make myself known to the students and to make sure they are paying attention. I would point out how rude it is to not listen to me as I am trying to help them get a future once they leave the school. If it continues I won't hesitate to hand out detentions to the students that are not listening.

When in the teacher's lounge, how does your character act?: He'd act professional as always so all of his colleagues know that he is serious about his job and to somewhat set an example to the others. He would be polite to his colleagues also.

Provide at least 5 detailed /me's of your character inside a classroom:

/me He'd walk down each isle of seats, looking over the students work to ensure they are on task
/me He'd write his name on the board ensuring it is clear enough to read "Mr. Emerson"
/me He'd sit down at his desk, continuing to mark the students work while they get on with the task given to them
/me He'd walk down the each isle handing each student the book they will be looking at
/me He'd clap his hands loudly, ensuring he had everyone'e attention

Backstory

Scott Emerson is an American male with a strong British accent. His siblings moved on to successful jobs. His sister, Clara Emerson went on to be a forensic scientist, working with the police force in Karakura. His other sister, Aria Emerson went on to own a cosy cafe in Karakura known as 'Heart Bucks.' Scott never knew what he wanted to do before he moved to Karakura as he helped his children, nieces and nephews revise for exams, and helped them with their work at home. He had a few jobs in London as he grew up but they were simply to earn a bit of money. He struggled finding a job when he was younger because it wasn't easy. He had to be doing well in school and have good attendance. His work when he was younger was a little sloppy as his strong points were in English. He loved poetry and reading and he just loved researching about artists who wrote the books he grew to love. Back in London when he was in school, Scott also enjoyed drama. His acting skills were very good and he took part in all of the school plays. When Scott moved to Karakura, he started helping the younger family members with their school work again, realising that his love for English had grown. He looked around for jobs but had little success as most jobs were struggling with getting customers, or that they had no positions available. He looked online about classes he could possibly teach in a high school and he soon come across the English department. Scott immediately knew that was the right job for him and that he would grow to love his job. He applied for the job right away, hoping that his application would soon be looked at. His family backed him up on his application and would grow to love his job too. Becoming an English teacher, and teaching the children of Karakura a subject that means so much to him warmed his heart.
