I'm a furry and all I get is hate for it. One time I had a character on the server that had fake wolf ears, and someone called me a furfag and to "go yiff in hell". I ended up changing my character after that, not wanting anymore hate. It saddens me that so many discriminate based on one part of a community, and never see any good in it

I personally am just not interested in it, and some factors annoy me, not specifically the interest, just the term and most of the people that "identify as a furry". Like, okay, It's an interest or hobby you have, but you don't need to literally identify as a furry, and it really shouldn't have evolved into a "lifestyle" for some. Of course, no one should heavily hate on it as much as they have, but you don't need to be treating it as seriously as someone discriminating against race or sexuality, or make everything about your interest. I personally hate the term "Furry" because they use countless LGBTQ+ terms like "Coming Out", Identifying as, etc. I've never insulted someone for doing it, but it gets me heavily annoyed when they treat it more than an interest or try to force it onto others. If you are interested in it and don't force it onto me, use those terms, great. Then I really don't mind at all. However if you get offended from me saying I don't like it or want to hear about it, that's when I start having an issue with it. I will respect your interest as long as you respect my opinion. Both people interested in the "furry" fandom and people who are against it will most likely disagree with what I've said, and I specifically don't mind. I'm not going to hate on someone for an interest they have, but I'm not going to support it with what it's been evolved into. You're going to get hate. It's sad, but people are harsh. Just don't be snowflakes about it, if I'm honest you don't need to be "flaunting" the fact you are interested in those types of things when people may not be interested in it as well. Of course, I think doing it around others who also have that interest is perfectly fine, that's how it should be. Again this is just an opinion and my view on it, and you're free to disagree with it.
