Trivia

What is your motivation for becoming a teacher?: I’d like to open up more roleplaying opportunities to the players of SchoolRP and to me as well. I’d personally like to expand my roleplaying capability and I think being a teacher on the server would expand that greatly, as well as challenge my strengths. I’d also open up more opportunities to the players of SchoolRP by getting them involved with the lessons and giving the students a realistic feel.

Do you have any experience in Roleplaying?: I have plenty of roleplaying experience. I’ve been playing the server for almost three years and have roleplayed consistently throughout my time playing.

Have you read the Faculty Handbook?: I have read it thoroughly and I understand all of it.

What are the classroom logs and why is it important?: The classroom logs are a way to keep track of the classes you have. This helps to maintain organization and commitment. Teachers are required to teach classes regularly, so having your classes tracked will help the staff make sure you are doing your job.

You want to start a school field trip; how do you do that?: I’d fill out the application on the forums.

As a teacher, what are the strict rules when being in a class?:

1. No phones during class activities.

2. Do not to interrupt class discussions.

3. No foul language.

4. No food or drinks in class.

5. Respect everyone in the classroom.

6. Do not get out of your seat unless instructed otherwise.

7. No violence of any form.

8. Complete your work during class.

Summarize your previous RP experience's (both in general and on SchoolRP):
I’ve roleplayed for three years and have had many experiences both in and out of SchoolRP. I never roleplayed as a teacher, but I hope to gain the experience of becoming a teacher. I’ve had a job in the school in SchoolRP as a secretary so I know what the environment is like.

Describe the ranking system of teachers:

- HD: Head of Department is the head of a certain school subject. They are in charge of lessons and academic curriculum. They guide the QTLS and NQT's and make sure they have the skill and knowledge needed to teach students.

- QTLS: Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills is a teacher that is qualified to teach a school subject. At this point, the QTLS does not need permission or assistance from the HD in order to teach a class.

- NQT: Newly Qualified Teacher is a teacher that ranks the lowest. They require assistance from the HD in order to teach a class. Their classes may also be monitored by the HD. The QTLS can teach a class as long as they have permission from the HD.

Teacher Knowledge

Present to us your knowledge about Teachers in-game and out-of-game, what purpose do teachers serve. What salary do they get? Include a paragraph about the way teachers teach, what they do in their spare time in general.

Teachers are expected to meet expectations from day to day in a school setting. They would be given a classroom and a schedule. This schedule changes year to year of course, as these classes can change on a yearly basis. They will also have to deal with grading assignments and prepare students for higher levels of testing and education such as college preparedness in some cases.

Teachers serve the purpose of educating and guiding people to higher forms of education.

Teachers make in Japan an average salary of ¥200k to ¥600k.

The way teachers educate is very dependent on the teacher. One way to teach is through class work and making your students participate. This would allow the students to apply the skills after a lesson. Lessons can be taught through many standards, such as textbooks, slideshows, booklets, worksheets or packets of some kind.

What teachers do in their spare time varies. When there is homework or tests to grade, teachers will have to spend time applying themselves and grading them. Another thing teachers must do is plan their lessons in advance, this will allow for lessons to be much easier to teach. Many of them will have a planning period of sorts or when they have free time, they will be able to plan these lessons ahead of time.

Why are teachers important to a SchoolRP server?: Teachers are important on the server because it is SchoolRP server and mainly revolves around the school experience. Teacher’s give the players of SchoolRP the realistic feel and opportunities that one may get in real life. They are also shown as a role model in a sense, and someone to look up to.

What lesson planning system does the school work on?: The planning system consists of the moSCo system which stands for: Must have, Should have, Could have.

Character Knowledge

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. How does she look like? What makes her unique and different? What is her outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is his personality like? What is his plan for the future?

Saori Kajiwara is a Japanese female who looks quite average. She has short slicked back black hair and is often mistaken for a boy. Her style is very masculine and she often wears a suit that is tailored to her body. She can be quite cold to people depending on the day but isn't afraid to throw jokes around. She’s relatively friendly to students and to co-workers. Saori feels bad for students who fail in certain subjects and works to help them understand in utmost detail. She believes that each and every student has the capability to do something amazing and to excel in their studies. Saori hopes to inspire young children to explore the many sciences there are and to find greater intelligence within themselves.

Scenarios

You find a gang of delinquents in the hallway cursing and swearing, what do you do?: I’d respectfully tell them to stop and if they continue to do so, I may raise my voice and/or present them with detention. If the situation gets out of hand I would notify the principal or higher up and if they are not available at the time I could possibly turn to the police if the situation involves any act of violence.

No one in your class is listening to a word you say, what do you do?: I’d try to engage the students in the lesson more by adding a game to the lesson or a reward for getting the correct answer. I could also raise my voice slightly and notify them that by not listening the students could get a possible consequence, such as in detention.

When in the teacher's lounge, how does your character act?: In the teacher lounge, my character would act respectfully and kindly to every teacher in the lounge. She’d also use the time to plan out future lessons.

Provide at least 5 detailed /me's of your character inside a classroom:

/me would walk to her desk and would grab the attendance sheet, she’d then stand in front of the class, shushing them.

/me would pace around the classroom whilst holding a stack of papers, distributing classwork to the students upon her classroom.

/me would collect the student’s classwork and would return to her desk, she’d then pull out a pen and begin grading the papers.

/me would walk to the window, opening it a crack. She’d then take a deep breath, calming her anger before looking back at the students with a relaxed look on her face.

/me would walk to the board and would then write the lesson for the day. She’d then turn to the class and would point to the board.

Backstory

Saori Kajiwara grew up in Karakura, Japan alongside her twin brother Minoru as well as multiple other siblings including Yuuta, Rei, George, and Lee. Saori was an independent girl while growing up, due to lack of attention from her parents. Her family was also quite broken as she had a different mother while George and Lee shared the same. She often dabbled in pranks and mischief and found an interest in chemical pranks that often went terribly wrong. In her high school years, she got great grades in the mathematics and science department but lacked creativity when it came to english and the arts. Her brother Minoru also dabbled in the sciences as well, so Saori often studied with him. Saori was mostly alone as a child. She didn’t have many friends and no one to really talk to hence her increasing bad behavior, though she got over it and ended up finding joy in her loneliness. Saori noticed many kids struggling in science and she felt bad for them so she offered to tutor them. She tutored over 6 kids and made a ton of friends like that, she found her love of teaching during these times. Saori eventually graduated high school and put her love of science and her love of teaching together and ended college with a bachelors degree and a major in general science.
