[OOC section]
In Game Name:
Mettappiness

School Employee Role you are Applying For: Teaching Assistant

How often do you log onto the server?: Very often, though not quite often recently on this account. However, if I were to be accepted, I'd definitely be more active as there isn't too much happening currently.

Do you have discord? Yes, my discord is Mettappiness#1137.

Do you have a microphone? Yes, and although it isn't quite good, I'm still able to talk.

Have you ever been banned, If yes when and why?: No.

Can you ensure that you will often come on: Yes, and if I'm needed and I'm not doing anything extremely important at the moment, I will definitely be able to come on.

Do you recognise that you can be ICly fired?: Yes, and I respect that clause.

In as much detail as possible, describe the role of your chosen school employee: A teaching assistant is more or less similar to an "intern" teacher, in which they provide teachers with an extra helping hand. They also help discipline students when a teacher's hands are full or when they need someone else to do it as well. I'm not sure how it works on SchoolRP, but I'd hope that I got to help plan lessons and execute them. A teaching assistant should be assertive enough that people will respect their word, but they shouldn't be so strict that kids will cry if they say a single word to them. They need to know how to talk to children and more importantly, know how to help those children if they're falling behind.

Usually, teaching assistants only stick to one teacher; however, if that teacher is unavailable, they are often advised to help another one who is chosen. Again, this may be different on here, but it ensures that they'll always have something to do. Also, if a teacher has to take a student to detention or has to go grab papers of some sort, you are instructed to watch the class and make sure nobody acts up until the teacher returns. You're kind of like a teacher's pet, except you get paid and nobody makes fun of you for it! (Well, unless they want their ass in detention.)

Do you have any past experience in this type of roleplay?: Yes. On other servers (won't say the names for obvious reasons) I have roleplayed as both teachers and teacher assistants. Being an assistant is similar to being a manager of a store--you don't quite own it, but most of the time you're left equally in charge. When I'm a teacher, I learn how people generally treat the assistant(s) and am aware of how they should act and how to get them to act polite. Being incredibly mean only really works when you're Atakka and you're the vice principal, so instead, being generally cool and chill with the kids will win you some respect points, while still punishing misbehaving kids. When you act this way, even the students who aren't doing anything wrong may still help out if they like the assistant that much.

What experience, in general, do you have in roleplay?: I have been roleplaying for around four to five years and have learned so much about Mary Sues, metagaming, metabaiting, killbaiting, and more. I joined this server nearly a year ago and have learned SO much more. I may have learned about half as much as I did before from this server alone. I can create backstories that aren't so bland they make you fall asleep but aren't so cliche and dramatic that it feels like that was a whole other roleplay.

Are you familiar with what your job does? If so, describe it: I already described it prior to this, but teaching/teacher assistants are exactly what the name implies--assistants to teachers. They help fulfill the duties of the teacher when they're not available or just to make it easier for them. They're not substitute teachers as they only help when the teacher is at school, but they sort of act that way and help others pay attention to get the knowledge they need.

[Situations]

During a workshift a student starts cursing at you for being pathetic, how do you react?: I'd politely remind them that all the employees try their best, though you may not see what the "best" may befrom your perspective. If they refuse to listen and/or just keep saying offensive things, I'd probably ask them to leave whatever room I'm in. If I'm not in a classroom, I'd just walk away. If they continued to follow me, I'd call for another teacher or staff member to give them detention.

You are doing a hazadrous job requested by the School Principal, how do you react?: I would do it, no matter the cost. I think the most hazardous thing a teaching assistant could do is watch a detention group after school. However, I never back down just because it might be a bit threatening and would probably give whatever teacher I'm helping a code word in case things get out of hand.

Another school employee is doing something very dangerous on the job or acting out of order, how do you react?: If an employee is doing something they aren't supposed to be doing, I'd first ask them why they're doing it or who told them to do it. Then, I'd politely ask them to stop what they're doing because it could get them in some deep trouble. Regardless of whether or not they actually did stop, I'd lastly inform a higher member of what they were doing.

[IC section]
Applicant Name:
Carta "Gold" Fawcett
Chosen Job: Teaching Assistant.

Motivation for Joining YHS: I've always had a soft spot for teachers. I really think they deserve a lot more credit than they're given, as they have to deal with some emo delinquent children high on sugar every single day. There's only so much Cain Herrington can do, and he can't be in every single class at once. This is why I think we might need more teaching assistants in this school, as they can help level out the amount of terrible students we see on a day-to-day basis.
Age: 22.

Why should you be accepted over the other applicants?: I'm not sure how many others will be applying, but they should. Teaching assistant is probably one of the most crucial jobs right now, as there have been more and more incidences in classrooms of students going off the walls with disrespectful manners. I think if I was accepted as an assistant, I could help stop these students while still helping whatever teacher I'm with at the time teach.
