“The Spiritual Visitors”
A report made by Karasuya Bando-Beaufoy

The Month of October
As the cold air starts to come in, the trees start to turn to vibrant colours of Oranges, yellows and reds. Signifying that Fall is here. Pumpkins and jacko-lanterns decorate the streets and the stores. People prepare their costumes in order to get ready to trick or treat. But the main reason most people love the Month of October, or some don’t. Is the thinning of the veil.
Not just any veil, oh gods no. It’s the veil between our world, and theirs.
You might be wondering what I’m talking about! I’m talking about the Spiritual world. The world of those who have passed on throughout the many years and generations that have passed.
The Thinning of the Veil
What is the ‘Thinning of the veil’ you may be asking! Well, here is some knowledge!
October is known as the “Energy month” or the “Charged Month” by many cultures and traditions. And due to the strong (Positive or Negative) energies that are shared throughout the month, it causes the veil to thin between the realms of the living and the dead. Making it easier for spirits (Whether they be good or bad) to pass through and be able to walk amongst the living. This is a time to grow and learn, and delve deeper into understanding not only yourself, but the past that has been given to you. And the lessons that are taught.
This was a tradition that was originally called ‘Samhain’ or a festival, which turned to Halloween in the modern days. Much like Día de los Muertos (The Day of The Dead).
It’s greatly encouraged to protect yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. The best kind of protection usually comes from crystals, of which there are several types of crystals that will protect you from certain things Or you can carry an Ofuda, Omamori or a cross. It all depends on what you believe and your religion.
During this time of the month, it can last until early November. And with such a thin veil, and such strong energy. There can be unwanted visitors. Or visitors that will act as though they are friendly and will only cause harm. It is recommended that you be aware of your surroundings and the spirits you come across.

The Spirits of Karakura
There are many spirits in Karakura, and I mean- Many. Here are some;
‘Runa’;
A sweet seven-year-old girl. She can be seen almost- everywhere. The Kiken Train Station, Plaza, The Forests, Sewers, and the Shrine. She is seen with a small little teddy but her movements are what catches your eyes. Her movements are stiff, doll-like. But she glitches almost like a vintage TV. and every injury she sustains as a spirit, she becomes more and more distorted. She’s usually very calm and gentle and loves animals. Though she hates when people yell around her. And usually, depending on how tense the situation is, it’s been confirmed that Runa is an unstable spirit. Meaning she really has no control of her actions.
According to information we’ve gathered from her story telling, she lived in a trailer in a circus, she was a “Conjoined twin” and their mother wanted more money. Which separating the twins would be the best option. Of which Runa did not survive the surgery. And she says her sister, ‘Sona’ is still alive to this day.
She has said she was born 1980 and died 1988.

‘Kitsa’;
Kitsa is seen- year round at Shrine. She is a demi-god. Though she has lived many lives, from what I have learned, she has a duty to collect the souls of those who have died for her new and current life. She guides the souls to the afterlife. But she has confirmed that the souls that wander the realm of the living to this day are ones that have escaped. And she has been ordered to not bring them back. It’s a waste of energy and time, if they can find their way out, they can find their way back in. Is how she put it.
Kitsa tends to like sake! And can be seen drinking it when she has a bit of quiet time.

‘Fūraimatsu’;
A mischievous spirit who is usually seen around Runa. He’s almost like a big brother to her and he’s a trickster. If he’s not around Runa, he’s usually found in the woods near the shrine. He’s got an energy with them that’s rather heavy and he likes to play tricks of the mind. I don’t know much about him.
‘Chisiki;’
There isn’t much known about him. Other than the fact he’s the twin spirit to Kitsa. The representation of creation and destruction. But Chisiki is rather dangerous, and a threat to our world.

‘Oboreru’;
A gentle a guiding spirit that can also be seen around Runa now and then, but he’s mostly around in the sewers.
‘Samishī’;
A young ghost that haunts the report station. He’s got an attitude to him, and he tends to like to pick on our publisher. He’s not the friendliest, and he makes that clear.
