Describe your activity on the server:
༘˚⋆。⋆.✧˚General Activity .。✧・゚:* ~♡
As of recent months, I spend some time every single day on SRP, between 2-6 hours daily. During that time, I walk around town, admiring the work the builders have put in over the years. Talk with friends both in character and out of character. Interact with the many stories that are present within SRP, allowing myself to get immersed in roleplaying. From time to time I help out with server events when I can. For example, the Fall festival back around late October, early November.
༘˚⋆。⋆.✧˚Occult Club .。✧・゚:* ~♡
Since around mid-October I have been actively involved with the Occult Club. During my time amongst the wonderful club members, I have partaken in many meetings, talked with several people, rose to the status of Senior Applicant (in short, a trial member), learned more about the history of Karakura, and learned how to avoid getting hurt by spirits. But I primarily partake in Occult Club as a way to enjoy myself with friends, like Erik Finster and Sakura Nakamura. Which has proven to be a very enjoyable way to develop my characters and catch up with my friends!
༘˚⋆。⋆.✧˚Yona Yona Employee .。✧・゚:* ~♡
Ever since getting accepted as a Yona Yona employee, I have been spending extra time helping wherever I can! This is primarily through helping make decisions on design choices, getting online during hours I normally wouldn't in order to attend openings, jump in for other employees' when need be, and all together, I just do my best to have a good time.
༘˚⋆。⋆.✧˚Akiyama Family .。✧・゚:* ~♡
During my time within the Akiyama family I have dearly enjoyed hanging out with everyone involved. Almost every day there is some kind of gathering, every day there are things added, or improvements made. A strong upside to the Akiyama family is its activity and positive nature. If there is so much as a mention of a problem that you experience, people are more than willing to help however they can!
༘˚⋆。⋆.✧˚How I develop Characters .。✧・゚:* ~♡
I do not know how common it is, but in my case, I develop my characters mostly through In Character interactions. Every interaction I have, I use it to develop new traits to my character's personalities. For example, the character I have been playing for about 3 months now, I started playing him with a simple backstory, from there it slowly evolved as I talked more with people, after a while, his personality became more developed and in-depth, I truly enjoy roleplaying with him and all my other characters

What position are you applying for (Maiden or Priest)?
Shrine Priest
What is your motivation for applying?
I have wanted to apply to a faction for several months now, but I had difficulty deciding which faction. So over the last few months I have been interacting with each faction the best I could to see what each one is like. Personally, I prefer the Shrine faction most because, even tho it has the lowest monthly income, it seems the most comfortable and relaxed faction. For example, at all the other factions, the buildings look very formal and people usually don't come in just for a simple chat. While at the monastery you could go up to a staff member and talk for hours if you wish to do so. All in all, my motivation for applying stems from the want to expand the roleplays I can do, wanting to contribute to the calm and comfortable atmosphere of the monastery while treating guests like I have been treated for a long time now.
What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?
Kami are Spirits, Deities, or ancient ancestors, not seen as omnipotent gods, but in control and inhabiting certain elements of life and nature, they can be benevolent, or vengeful, usually vengeful if treated with disrespect. Nature itself is considered sacred, shrines often being built within locations of strong natural presence. untouched natural environments are seen as carrying a spiritual essence, allowing humans to connect with the kami. There is also the Torii gates. which mark the entrance to sacred grounds. it is expected to stand on the side of the path and bow in front of the gate before stepping through it.
Family and respect for one's ancestors is seen as highly important, it is believed ancestors watch over their descendants, house shrines are possible where offerings can be made, purity ties into this, through maintaining balance in life, it is seen as remaining pure in both spirit and body! Shintoism is unique in the fact that traditions are given to the next generation by word of mouth, unlike other beliefs like Christianity, which uses a written source like the Bible.
Rituals are a cornerstone of Shintoism, most often seen as a way of honoring the kami and seeking their blessings. they often include parades, dances, offerings, and prayers! There are also regular rituals, like giving offerings to the kami, that are done to maintain a friendly bond. Shintoism is a belief also deeply woven into Japanese identity and culture, affecting art, literature, and customs. many festivals like the New Year's celebrations, weddings, and Harvest Ceremonies are based on Shinto beliefs. This is all the information I have been able to gather over a prolonged period of searching the internet for reliable sources. sadly, a lot of information seems to be geolocked for me.
Personally, I wish to learn more about Shintoism, as it is a fascinating religion. I hope to learn plenty about Shintoism if I were to be accepted for a shrine staff position, alongside the responsibilities that shrine staff have.

Backstory

✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧Childhood 2001-2011⋅˚₊‧ଳ‧₊˚⋅ᝰ.ᐟ
Robin has always been one to love studying, spending most of his childhood nose deep in books or doing extra tests provided by his teachers that enjoyed watching him at work. Sadly, this led to other kids viewing him as a weirdo and ostracizing him over time, teachers noticed this issue, but were never successful in solving it. He himself was never truly bothered by it, but over the years during his early childhood, due to his nonexistent contact with kids his age, he never developed a sense of understanding or expressing emotions. only those closest to him, he could slightly understand, and be able to express himself to.
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧Young-Adult years 2012-2019⋅˚₊‧ଳ‧₊˚⋅ᝰ.ᐟ
During this time, the ostracization mostly disappeared, people began to respect him for his studious nature, giving him space and peace to do his own thing. Sadly, this also meant the issue with understanding emotions worsened as the years kept dragging on. He did not let that interfere with his studies though, pushing on and deciding to study Shintoism, partially out of interest in the origins of the religion, and partially out of finding comfort in it. Praying and spending time at shrines was the one thing to truly give him peace of mind, he also volunteered at animal shelters from time to time.
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧Adult years 2020-2024⋅˚₊‧ଳ‧₊˚⋅ᝰ.ᐟ
After finishing high school and pondering what to do next, he decided to go to Kokugakuin University, working towards a bachelor's degree in literature. between his studies, he spent almost all his time at the nearest shrine, praying for continued good health and successful studies. the rare few times that you wouldn't find him praying or studying, he would most often be with his family, attending birthday parties and such, mostly as a sign of respect more than anything else, always bringing simple gifts, like chocolates or small religious charms.
‧₊˚❀༉‧₊˚.Karakura₊˚⊹ᡣ
✩₊˚.⋆☾⋆⁺₊✧Current day 2025⋅˚₊‧ଳ‧₊˚⋅ᝰ.ᐟ
After he finished his studies on the mainland, he felt a strong desire to visit his other family within Karakura. Giving a simple goodbye to his family in the mainland, he traveled overseas by boat. Once he arrived, he was welcomed by his Karakuran family with open arms. They provided him with a place to stay and treated him like they had known him their entire lives. After getting settled in, he slowly started spending more and more time at the Shinsei Seinaru Monastery, finding the same peace he did on the mainland in the peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. He started to bond with the staff there, seeing to it that he helped where he could, even with tasks as simple as going through the teahouse with a broom. When he wasn't at the shrine, he usually could be found wandering the town or assisting his family.
CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE / SITUATIONS
How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff?
He will mostly wander around. looking for tasks like brooming the teahouse. While interacting with guests, he will make sure to remain respectful and fulfill any reasonable requests they may have, like drawing an Omikuji or serving tea. He will gladly assist in ceremonies like weddings!
While interacting with other shrine staff, he would also remain respectful. assisting them in any tasks he can.
IC examples:

You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it?
I would give them a warning to get down a maximum of 3 times. After that i would blacklist them if they still refuse to obey shrine rules. If, at that point, they still refuse to leave, I would call KPD to inform them of what is going on and request assistance in removing the rulebreaker from them.
IC examples:
In case of someone with no previous incidents.

In case of a repeat offender or refusal to comply.

In case of the person being blacklisted and refusing to comply.

Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest?
Throughout most of their life, they have enjoyed anything involved with Shintoism. Which is the main reason he studied at Kokugakuin University and spent his free time at temples and shrines on the mainland. During his time in Karakura, he has spent most of his free time at the shrine, interacting with shrine staff and guests alike, and helping where he can. He wishes to become a shrine priest in hopes of paying the kind and caring nature of the Shrine forward to all the guests it is honoured to receive.
An IC letter to the Shinsei Seinaru Monastery:
Hello to whoever reads this. To begin this, I would like to give my sincere thanks to all who live in the monastery. Whenever I am there, I always get welcomed with open arms, everyone is always treated as an equal and with immense kindness, and the atmosphere is always very pleasant and relaxed. This is one of the reasons I wish to become part of the shrine myself, I wish to contribute to the wonderful community that exists in it. During my time living on the mainland, I studied at Kokugakuin University, getting a Bachelor's degree in literature, I spent most of my free time at nearby shrines, preferring studying and praying over what most of the people my age did. I have never been one for parties or alcohol.
This has made it that I would like to become a Shrine Priest for the monastery, as I see it as the optimal way of repaying the kindness I have been shown, even if I am still untrained in the ways of a priest.
Thank you for your time to whoever reads this, I wish you a pleasant day still and a fortunate future ahead.
