KARAKURA NEWS | Prominent Families in Karakura

- REPORTER HEADER [PROMINENT FAMILIES].png
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Many families have sprouted within the territories of Karakura, yet only a few have had the impact required for everyone to know their reputation the moment they hear it.

In this article we will go over a handful of families that are notable within this town for their contributions and overall popularity on the streets.

Above all else, these families have one thing in common; wealth. To climb to the top of the ladder amongst the hierarchy of families, said clan must accumulate wealth. It’s the cruel nature of the modern world, yet it paves a path that allows each family to make their mark in their own ways. Some, more controversial than others.

Before this article goes off the rails on some commentary, let’s get on with the list and what makes them so special amongst the backdropped crowds.

Saiky
A list about notable families without Saiky on it would be nigh incomplete. The Saiky’s are currently the one of the largest families that hold seats in important positions within the isle of Karakura, withstanding the test of time and surpassing the many families that have fallen largely due to the crime. You can find a Saiky in almost every field of work within this town, and their notoriety shines the most in their diversity.

The Saiky’s have many members—though unlike a few others on this list—they’re largely biological. Karakura is known for its massive families riddled with adoption that amounts to picking up kids off the street regardless of if they’re orphans or not, but Saiky is an interesting exception, which is why it makes this list.

They’re a family known for how they strive to change Karakura, to shape it into a better form that even if it’s only subconscious.

Brown
The Brown family is quite an interesting one. Their origins aren’t exactly tied to Karakura, yet they are what runs our government. Similarly to the Saiky’s, you can find them holding a leadership position in most jobs or studies. Particularly, they currently run the School and hold office as our Mayor.

Besides this the family seems quite reclusive, often sticking to their duties and only a handful of their youth make an avid appearance in public. Of course as figureheads they have a lot on their plate, so it makes sense as to why the adults may not appear as often outside of their office spaces.

Still, they are a sprouting family that has offered Karakura positive change amongst its roster of prior Mayors, and they continue to do so.

Löwe
Another large family of signature blonde not seen since the likes of Herrington, they are a migrant family who have made a name for themselves within Japan, though it is worth noting their hands are not as clean as Saiky.

They’re an extremely professional, profit driven family who has offered plenty to the economy of Karakura. Similarly to Saiky, you’d be surprised where you may find the Löwe’s as they have many business ventures that fuels their fiery youth that run about. One thing is for certain, this family has drive and an interesting personality spread throughout them, especially their youngsters.

O’Sullivan
Another long standing family that has seen the test of time is the O’Sullivan’s. They have been around longer than Saiky and Löwe, yet are more on the ‘quiet’ side of things. Rather than making a name for themselves through popularity or money, they have earned it through their sheer numbers. But do not be mistaken, they are under the same category of rich families that have offered plenty to this city, namely in their education.

Many O’Sullivan’s can be found within the school as faculty, both high school and college. While many of the Saiky’s have high seats, the O’Sullivan’s find themselves in the more humble fields with a hands-on approach to the youth of Karakura.

Their impact is undeniable, as they have shaped how the new teachers have begun conducting themselves.

Takada
A more infamous family that is still around, the Takada’s have earned their spot on this list through their unfortunate impact on the streets of Karakura. Many of their members have a history that may make one turn their nose up at them, however they are not merely some crime family—rather they are a family that has banked on the underground of Karakura and since then settled down for a quieter life.

This is most evident in those such as their elders and less criminally inclined youth, one of which I had interviewed a little while ago. However, according to word on the street, old habits die hard with a wonderful Betty Takada, who is known as ‘Grandma’ by many of Karakura’s teens.

Despite this, they’re a family that are most popular within the school within teams or youth based faculties.

Honorable Mention:
Akiyama
A new age family that have begun popping up in Karakura, the Akiyama’s cannot yet hold a candle to the others on this list, yet they are quickly getting there. A seemingly honor bound family, they are known for their fashion trends in formal wear and their most notable youth—Yuta Akiyama.

While they’ve yet to become a recognizable name on the street, all it takes is a careful eye to see that they are rising up, and time will tell if they will truly live up to the expectations this list has set.

There is something to be said about the families that have come and gone within this town. Their influence in every crevice, seeping into what we know now. Whether we like to admit it or not, every notable family has shaped this town for better or for worse and is reflected in our everyday lives.
And this list is by no means comprehensive, as there are plenty of fun, popular families such as the Maeng’s or the Watcher’s. This is a much more serious toned paper that aims to shed light on families that the younger generation or newer arrivals might not know but hear about often.

More and more families are bound to join and create their own fascinating stories with twists and turns, and that is the beauty of it.

That’s all for this report, I had a lovely time studying the impact and historical records from various other papers on the families I documented here. Take care, Karakura.
Family is important.

That's a great format - families come and go - but they all have their time! We should have this as a regular format! Next - show us the Akihito and the Asogi and a few others too!
