What is your motivation for applying?: My character hori constantly visits the shrine, i personally enjoy the building and everything too and the RP behind it really interests me.. more than i would've expected! i feel like it'd suit my character quite well.
What do you currently know about Shintoism? Are you willing to learn more about it?: I don't really know anything to be honest, but im more than willing to learn, eager in fact.

Backstory
CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE / SITUATIONS
How does your character act around shrine grounds? How do they interact with guests and other staff? : Horiyama would move around the monastary with a pleasant demeanor, tidying up where he can to help out the maidens, offering casual conversation to most visitors and guidance to ones who seek it, he'd often be seen sitting with a cup of tea, admiring the view bestowed upon him. He'd often engage in meditation as well, keeping a tranquil energy flowing around him.
You see a guest jumping around the roofs of the building and overall disrespecting shrine grounds, how would your character handle it? : At first, hori would try to talk the man down.. speaking to him in a gentle tone of voice. "Would you please step down, I'd hate for you to get hurt messing around up there." If his kind conversation with the intruder didnt work and they continued to disrespect a place hori holds quite deeply, he'd grow somewhat annoyed.. but Hori was still a gentle man... instead of trying to handle the situation himself, he'd call upon the shrine assistants to assist in escorting the man out.. after which he'd crouch down near the intruder.. offering a few kind words. "Please, think about your actions here today.. reflect upon them for a while and come back when you are ready to respect the shrine." he'd pat the mans shoulder.. Horiyama believed in people.
Why does your character want to become a shrine maiden/priest? What do they wish to achieve?: Horiyama has always loved the shrine.. his late father would take him constantly, drilling tradition and respect into his head from a young age.. they would sit together in silence in the meditation room for hours.. In due time Horiyama would grow to love the shrine, even coming on nearly a daily basis to offer his prayers and conversation too the shrine and others. His father was more of an authoritarian, but Hori noticed his love for the shrine.. he decided after his father's passing that he would become a part of the monastary no matter what, to not only make his dad proud, but to honor the Toki legacy.
What are the core values of your character? : Honor and kindness are two of Horiyama's biggest values, his father taught him to always act with his honor in mind.. a strict one at that.. his kindness he developed through his own experiences, he'd demonstrate both of them by helping people even when not asked, for example.. a young man was being picked on in the halls, Hori stepped next too the man, declaring him as a friend and defending him until the bullies walked away.
