Sofi had a muscular build to her, the warm beige tones of her skin, complemented with freckles over her cheeks, giving off a sun kissed appearance, that attested to the hours Sofi spent in exercise, or surfing. The Lahela girl has golden-blonde locks that fall to her chest, in a curly (3a - 3c) manner. The vibrance of her golden-blonde hair gleamed like a fleeting evening sun, capturing sun rays with it’s hues. A pair of warm, roasted brown eyes would encompass a cold stare, contrasting to the welcoming countenance the girl had.

Sofi looks up to Capri. Her eldest sister is the main caregiver and role model in her life. To many things, such as her personality and rationality, she has to attribute Capri and how she raised Sofi. Although she adores her eldest brother, she has seen the dark sides of Liko, such as his alcohol consumption, which has influenced her away from it. Sofi and Kaoru’s relationship is complicated. On one hand, they have never been romantically committed to each other. On the other, they had Kyo and decided to keep her in their lives despite their platonic status. Sofi considers Kaoru ‘family’ to some extent, as she has been firmly pushing for them to co-parent and seem like a normal family to Kyo. Although, that mostly falls on deaf ears. Sofi and Kaoru are a very one-sided relationship, with Sofi mostly appealing for Kaoru’s attention to no avail, or little acknowledgement. She has eventually learnt that she cannot solely rely on Kaoru, and has to fend for herself when it comes to Kyo. ‘I care deeply about you, but do you even see that?’ | Kyo is the child of Kaoru and Sofi. Born in [REDACTED] November 2024, Kyo is currently 5 months old as of writing. Simply put, Sofi adores Kyo unconditionally. Although she originally kept Kyo mostly in her father’s care, Sofi swore to be more present in her child’s life, and not hide the fact about her daughter from others any longer. The pair can be seen strolling about town occasionally. In addition, Kyo can also be seen on Sofi’s friends and families’ backs on a baby carrier, if Sofi lets them babysit. Having known each other since childhood, Ryoka and Sofi’s friendship has stood the test of time. They share fond memories with each other. Ryoka has acknowledged that he sees Sofi as a role model, to which Sofi tries to uphold that image for her friend that she sees as a younger brother. She is comfortable confiding in Ryoka, and has even indulged in his hobby of basketball. ‘You are like my younger brother. I am always a call away, Ryoka.’ | Sofi and Soo-Min are close to each other, with Sofi trusting Soo-Min with secrets and advice. The pair occasionally hangs around each other and their friends. Although Sofi’s first impression of Moriel was rather questionable, having stumbled into the Maengs’ household out of wanting to check in on her future in-laws, Sofi has grown to embrace Moriel’s eccentric ways. Sofi does not hesitate in asking how Moriel and his family is doing, as she has embraced her in-laws and their interesting way of life. … Also the wax statues. ‘Oh, that wax statue? That is my brother-in-law, I fear.’ | As Sofi’s team captain, Mayumi is seen as a role model, and also one of her closest friends. She works closely with Mayumi for the betterment of their team. Outside of sports business, Sofi sees Mayumi as a close friend. She treats Mayumi like her own sister, and will never hesitate to provide a listening ear for her. ‘You have to go through so much for our team. How do you do it?’ |

Sofi sees Sephtis as a goofy persona on her team. She has seen him through crises, and through his funniest moments. Sofi admires Sephtis’ positive disposition, and his devotion to his team. She occasionally pokes fun at Sephtis, but all in good faith. ‘Sepsis’ | Sofi has Ioane to thank for her high standards in finding a potential partner. As her sister’s husband, Sofi looks up to the relationship standards that Ioane and Capri has set. Not only that, she respects the care that Ioane has shown Capri throughout their relationship. To Sofi, Rin is the positive persona that brings cheer to everyone on her team. She respects that Rin is firm in protecting all the other female-teammates on the track team, and will gladly help out with her. She sees Rin as a hyper-feminine icon, and admires her stylishness. ‘Rin is a dear to me. She loves all the other girls on the team, too.’ | Although the pair have not had many opportunities to interact outside of practice, Sofi sees Akane as a person who stands her ground. ‘I wish we could meet more often. Sofi regards Asus as one of the teammates that she shares a closer bond with. She admires Asus’ dedication to taking care of her daughter, Kyo, despite not having any familial relation or obligation to her. She understands that Asus adores Kyo just as much as she does, with his antics around her putting a smile on her face. Asus is one of Sofi’s closest confidants. She rarely shows her true, uncensored emotions, but when around Asus, she feels comfortable enough to let loose and get rid of the uptight-facade that she holds for everyone else. The two share a similar dumb humor and inside jokes, cracking each other up on sight. ‘Where would I be without you, dear friend?’ | Sofi and Ceva’s relationship originated before Ceva even joined the team. Sofi is comfortable around Ceva, sharing some of her more personal matters with her, and hearing out Ceva’s personal struggles as well. To Sofi, Aliya is a carefree, yet humorous teammate of her’s. The two do not share a very comprehensive history, but Sofi does feel comfortable around Aliya. She is more than glad to protect Aliya from unsolicited flirtations from other people, as she understands that it scares her. ‘We should hang around the girls more often.’ | As the track team’s newest inclusion, Sofi and Maika also do not share a deep history yet. Although, Sofi treats Maika warmly, and regards her as part of the team, somewhat protective over her. ‘Welcome on, dear. You are one of us.’ |

As Sofi’s ex-teammate and also Kyo’s grand uncle, Felix holds close to home. She looks up to him, as one of the more senior teammates in the team, until his departure from the team. They share a similar humor, joking or even complaining about Kaoru, Felix’s nephew. ‘Miss you lots, Felix. Come visit the team some day.’ | Sofi and Dae had a decent friendship, with both of them, along with the other girls in the team, relying on each other. Occasionally, Sofi even jokes to Dae about ‘toilet duty’, an inside joke within the team regarding cleaning the dorm bathroom. ‘Psst. TOILET DUTY.’ |

As the high school track team’s captain, Sofi has major respect for Sumi. She looks up to Sumi’s dedication for her team, and admires her down-to-earth personality, that puts a smile on people’s faces. Sofi fully believes that Sumi can never anger anyone with her unwavering bright personality. ‘Oh, how I wish I could be as carefree as you, dear.’ | Sofi and Louise have a friendship that goes no deeper than simply hanging out with each other. Although, Sofi feels that she could be protective over Louise, should anyone confront her. She understands that Louise is partly responsible for the epidemic that is calling Sofi ‘Sofia’. Sofi is nicknamed ‘Sofa Lala’ by Louise, which has spread to more of her other friends. They both have a similar dumb humor. ‘Lou Tonton’ |

Sofi sees Hye-Ri as a younger sister. She has a protective urge over Hye-Ri, willing to defend the girl should anyone hurt or affect her. Hye-Ri is one of her closest confidants and companions. ‘You are a darling. I wish more people knew that.’ | Kanaho leans closer to ‘family friend’, due to the Kamuis’ connection with the Maengs, Sofi’s in-laws, that she is very close with. She regards Kanaho somewhat like her in-laws, and enjoys her company when it comes to family, and track gatherings. ‘We should hang around more.’ |

Backstory:
Sofi Avery Lahela was born in Hawaii on 2 June 2004, to parents Akoni Lahela and Anika Sanhueza. The elder sister of 11, Sofi grew up closely with her siblings and cousins. Since her childhood, Sofi has always had a more empathetic personality, witnessing the many unglamorous, dark moments her parents have had, shielding her siblings from such incidents. As such, Sofi took on a silent, observing personality. However, the girl had a knack for athletics, tagging along with her elder siblings when they engaged in outdoor activities and sports. This lead to her penchant for athletics too, eventually joining a sport in middle school, with that being track and field. Eventually, she moved on to high school, where she continued the sport, although various setbacks made her reconsider her commitment to it. She stuck through, eventually graduating.
Since her siblings were moving away from Hawaii to Karakura, Japan, Sofi decided to follow along, using her experience in track and field to get a scholarship to Karakura Community College, where her siblings studied. She eventually settled down in Karakura as well, with the comfort of having family by her side. In her early days of settling down, she met Kaoru Jin-Ryuk Hattori, and the two formed a bond, much to the dislike of Liko Lahela, her eldest brother, who disapproved of their relationship. Nevertheless, Sofi continued seeing him, despite Liko’s disapproval after an altercation that left Kaoru injured. Sofi and Kaoru would eventually go on to have Kyo Hattori-Lahela, their daughter.
