Describe your activity on SchoolRP:

Fairly active! On a scale of 1-10, I'd give my activity an 8. I do work fulltime in a leadership position at a dog boarding facility. So, when I am inactive for a day or two, that is the reason. The pups wait for no one.

Describe your roleplay experience with SchoolRP and other roleplay networks in general:
Not to flex or anything but I was an avid MazeRP player back in its prime. I returned to the SchoolRP experience about 3 years ago, like a few others, by being immediately thrown into the world of Crime/Gang Roleplay. (Literally, day one.) I made my way up in the community and created what I believe to be one of the most influential Intel Gangs in SRP, Man’en, and led it through its prime. It was and is a very big achievement of mine not just from an ICLY standpoint but also in the community it cultivates. Aside from that, recently I’ve been getting to interact with many of the other factions the community has to offer such as Shrine, Faculty, KPD, and Government. In search of a wider variety of roleplay and other places to explore creativity, I decided to give the professor role a try!

What are your current roles on SchoolRP:
[ADULT] Callie Togomi
[GRADE-12] Matteo Armani
[GRADE-11] Shihori Asōgi
[DOG] Bo

What is the subject you want to teach?:
Cultural History

╰┈➤ TRIVIA SECTION

What is your motivation for becoming a professor?:

In reference to what I stated above, I am a little less than desperate for more variety in my SchoolRP experience. I have real life experience in teaching for about 2 years and studied in Secondary Education at the university I attended (Until it became too expensive ) , so I believe I can bring some engaging and fun roleplay to not only the students but also other professors/employees in the faction! I’ve also had a love for history, sociology, and culture since I was in grade school and feel like I have enough experience, if not intriguing outlooks, to really engage the community in those topics.

Work out two interactive classes you will host if accepted:
  1. Rome’s Betrayal:
Students will learn about the events that led up to Julius Caesar’s assassination, developing an understanding of Ancient Rome and its political climate at the time.

Set-up: One student will be assigned the role of Caesar.
    - All other students will be “senators” (some loyal, some plotting betrayal)
    - This will be decided via ‘cards’ (books) handed out to the class with an assignment. Protect Caesar or overthrow him.

The game: Students will sit in a circle and engage in a game similar to Mafia/Werewolf/Town of Salem/Among Us. Senators try to discover who is loyal and who is plotting to assassinate Caesar. 3 rounds of discussion and voting will proceed until the final round “The Ides of March”. By the end of the game, whoever has the majority of senators wins! If the loyal senators have more, Caesar lives. If the conspirators have the majority, Caesar is “assassinated”.

Debrief: A discussion is held about the motivations behind such an event, what led to it, and what the students believe should/should not have happened.

    ───────────────────────── ৎ ──────────────────────────
  2. If You Could Change the Past…:
This lesson is one that can be reused for a variety of historical decisions. Students will dive into history with their own personal beliefs and opinions, “rewriting” history through debate. This gives them the opportunity to tie in their own philosophies whilst also considering the social and political climate of whichever time period may be discussed.

Activity: The class will first discuss what originally happened. For example, the Trial of Socrates. I, as the professor, will give a brief and easy to understand rundown of what the trial was about, what Socrates was accused of, and decide whether to reveal the actual outcome for the end of the activity.

Debate: Socrates is accused of corrupting the youth and disrespecting the gods by presenting new ideas that contradict mythological teachings. The class will open up for debate, as understanding history and cultural impact comes straight from human interaction itself. Modern examples can be brought in, discussing the recent cult risings, the influence on the youth, and other relevant topics to engage the class.
The second half of class, I will have them write on what they’re decision, if they were the single deciding factor in history, would be. (At least one paragraph.)

Work out a field trip (meaning a class outside school grounds) you will host if accepted:

Mock Archaeology: Treasures of the Nile:

Most intriguing artifacts in reference to Karakura are only read about in its historical literature, never seen by the public or locked away. Such as the ‘Urn of Secrets’. This would likely frustrate Miss Demires, as previously, boundaries never stopped her. But alas! She has to be a good example to the youth! So, she gathers up a few mockups and heads for the beach!

Set-Up: Beforehand, Selene would travel to Karakura’s shores and bury a number of ‘artifacts’. Despite.. How strange that might look at first glance. It’s for education!
Activity: The class would discuss archaeology and its importance in uncovering fragments of history. Specifically, ancient Egypt. It provides hints as to what daily life what like at the time, culture, fashion, etc.

- The students would be equipped with journals, brushes, and small trays. They’d then travel off campus to the beach, where previously buried mock artifacts were waiting to be found.
- Students would work together to uncover pieces of jewelry, scarabs, ankhs. Mock bones, a sarcophagus, and obelisks. (Maybe she’ll throw in a dinosaur for fun. “But it’s human history!” Shh, dinosaurs are cool.)
- They’ll need to write down their findings in the journal, explain what it may tell us about Ancient Egypt at the time, and turn in at the end of the day.

╰┈➤ SCENARIO SECTION

Your character would encounter a group of college jocks surrounding a bobcat jock, what would your character do?

Inspect the situation carefully. It’s possible that it could be nothing more than a conversation. However, if she did discover any harassment, bullying, or physical altercation; she’d sternly ask the group to disperse. She is a very no nonsense woman when it comes to pointless bullying and harassment. If after multiple warnings the group doesn’t separate, she’d likely call for backup, intervene herself, and hand out detentions as needed if it escalates to that point.

Your character would be supervising detention, one of the students constantly disturbs by asking stupid questions, what would your character do?

Selene would notice the intentional disruptions from a mile away. She’d likely answer them with short responses after explaining that the more they speak rather than completing a detention task, the longer they’ll be stuck in detention. If a lecture doesn’t work, she’d simply ignore them as the reality of isolation in the detention hopefully starts to set in.

Your character would be hosting a class, and a group of cheerleaders keeps on playing songs on the phone and calling out other students in the class, what would your character do?

Give them multiple warnings and try to incentivise them to either remain quiet or only interrupt when it’s genuine. If that does not work, they will have to be removed from the class and they can try again another time. They’re missing out!

Your character would be walking on the school perimeter and encounter a fight between a couple of students, your character tried to break it up but it didn't help, what would your character do?

If breaking it up did not work, Selene would take a step back to call for help from any other faculty that may be around. After that, she’d probably return to trying to break it up, separating them somehow and handing out detention.
Though, breaking it up would probably work! This woman has climbed mountains, what’s a couple of kids?.. Right?

╰┈➤ CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE

Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. What does they look like? What makes them unique and different? What is their outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is their personality like? What is their plan for the future?

Selene von Demires is a radiant presence both in and out of the classroom; a woman whose passion for history, art, and culture is present in each word she speaks. Her long blonde hair falls past her shoulders in soft waves when not pulled back for practicality. Hazel eyes shift with the light, amber in some, green in others, reflecting a mind that is both perceptive and endlessly curious. She moves with an easy grace, her posture confident but never imposing, her style; practical, timeless, and effortlessly elegant.
Miss Demires is very down to earth, balancing brilliance with humility. Her uniqueness stems from how she moves throughout the world, not just sharing her knowledge with others but also expanding her own at every chance she gets. She often prods into cultural references and pop culture, finding some way to tie it into ancient civilization. And, there’s always a way!
Her outlook on students was shaped by her early experiences in Karakura. She believes that every person is an explorer in their own right, especially the youth. To her, troubled students aren’t lost causes; they’re simply travelers who’ve wandered down the wrong path for a time. She meets each one with respect, adjusting her approach to match the level of understanding and openness they bring. She’s patient but purposeful, knowing that real growth only happens when a lesson reaches someone where they truly are. In the end, her philosophy is simple: every student is different, and understanding those differences is where teaching begins.
With her colleagues, Demires is easy to work with, grounded, respectful, and kind. She values friendly competition and believes that good teaching comes from shared experience, not one’s ego. Outside her work, her plans are simple but meaningful: to be there for her father and sister, offering the same quiet support she gives her students. As she continues to study the history of Karakura, she also hopes to build a future closer to home. Perhaps even start a family of her own, blending her love for discovery with the life she’s still learning to mold as she settles down in one place.

Describe how your character ended up becoming a teacher and their previous life. It is optional to include earlier life but recommended.
Make sure this is over 100 words.

Selene’s teaching journey began at a young age. Her mother died when she was young, leaving a quiet and loveless home in her wake. And it wasn’t just her father who seemed hollow; her older sister had become a shadow of herself, drifting through the house like air in silence. The youngest Demires’ spirit ached for freedom and life. So, she did what it demanded; she escaped.
At fifteen, with the guidance of a distant friend and his uncle, she set off to see the world and escape the cold home she had left behind. She did not sever ties completely, however, often sending letters from wherever her travels took her. The world beyond her doorstep became both refuge and classroom, offering lessons she could never have learned within the walls of her childhood home.
After two years of wandering and exploration, Selene realized she wanted to understand not just the people and places she discovered, but how to study them through a historical lens. That passion for both adventure and history led her to Oxford, England, where she earned her degree and continued to cultivate her curiosity through new experiences and more grounded pursuits.
Today, Selene shares her stories of travel and exploration at every opportunity while educating the youth. She strives to teach not just the events of the past, but the reasons behind them. She seeks to explain the unexplainable and approach the unapproachable. All the while, she cares deeply for her family, working quietly to bring warmth and life back to the cold home she once left behind.

(Pretend your character is filling this out, not you, replace the underscores [ _ ] with your answers)

───────────────────────── ৎ ──────────────────────────
╰┈➤ 1 - PERSONAL DATA
───────────────────────── ৎ ──────────────────────────
Full Name:

The woman held her hand out to shake, a soft but firm grasp as she introduced herself, “Selene von Demires, it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Her accent was prominent in her words as she had a careful seat at the desk, brushing her skirt out to plop more comfortably.

Title (Mr, Mrs, Miss):
An airy, amused huff escaped the blonde’s nose. “Miss is fine for both students and faculty. Though, formalities mean very little to me.”

Given Name(s):
Blank stare and a head tilt. Seems Demires doesn't have an answer for this one. (N/A)

Preferred Name:
“Selene will do just fine.” The woman paused, lips pursing as she seemed to ponder the question far longer than one might think was normal. “Though, if I could pick another name, it’d probably be Njeri! It means warrior, or explorer. There’s Kikuyu origin to the name but- Ah, I won’t yap your ear off, as the kids say.” Another awkward laugh, an attempt to brush off her talkative nature with humor.

Age:
“27” Didn’t she just say.. To quote, ‘As the kids say’?

Gender & pronouns:
“Female, I go by she/her. Though, they/them are fine as well!”

Religious Denomination:
The woman sharply inhaled, a smile painted with a mixture of amusement and.. Perhaps fears? She regained herself quickly though, “With the opportunity to study many religions and their origins, I have not been able to effectively identify with any one in particular. I’d consider myself irreligious.” Demires brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, her eye contact steady. “They are fascinating, though.”

Marital Status:
Finally, an easy question. “Single!” the blonde answered, “The life of travel doesn’t agree with romance. Though, maybe settling down in Karakura will change that. Still, unimportant.” She waved a dismissive hand, uninterested in the topic.

Nationality:
“I was born in Paris, France. So, I have citizenship there. However, I also worked towards achieving citizenship in the UK!”

Current Location:
“Well currently I’m sitting at a desk.” Terrible joke. She immediately backtracks. “Karakura, Japan. I’m here on a prolonged visit to my father and sister and am currently looking to make it more permanent given the.. Unfortunate circumstances.”

╰┈➤ SECTION 2: Academic Details
───────────────────────── ৎ ──────────────────────────
Teaching Experience (# of years):

Selene’s eyes softened at the memories that accompanied her answer, “Accustomed to life on the road and in the air, I was so fortunate to spend a year rooted in one place through one of Oxford’s study abroad programs. In São Paulo, Brazil, I both studied and taught English and Cultural Studies. This experience reshaped a lot of what I knew, not just about travel, but about people and culture. How we can connect even across our differences.”

Working Experience (# of years):
“Some might not consider my years as an archaeologist “work,” but to me, they absolutely were. I’ve been traveling and uncovering artifacts ever since I first had the opportunity to leave France. Guided by a close friend, I moved from country to country, tracing the paths of both living and long-lost civilizations and studying the fragments they left behind. Each place has taught me lessons in patience, humanity, and self-awareness. The thrill of discovery and the.. occasional reward, were bonuses!”

Academic Degree:
“I achieved my Undergraduate degree of Arts from the University of Oxford in 2019 and proceeded to achieve my Masters in Cultural History in 2024.”

Year of Graduation:
Guess she got ahead of herself. “2024..”

Major(s):
“I double-majored in History and Theology/Religion” Hair flip.

Minors:
“Oh! I also graduated with a minor in Art History.” Double hair flip.

Native Languages:
The blonde performed a gentle hum, “I am fluent in French, English, and Japanese” A brief pause overcame the room...

Other Languages:
Until! “I’ve dabbled in many other languages in my travels but am not quite fluent in any of them. If I could teach myself every language in the universe, I would in a heartbeat. To be able to communicate endlessly with the world is a dream.”

Preferred Teaching Subject:
“I specialize in Cultural History”

Extra
“Thank you for the opportunity and taking the time to get to know me. It’s been wonderful.” The woman stood from her seat and bowed to show respect, her hazel gaze lifting accompanied with a warm smile before she left the room.
