Describe your activity on SchoolRP:
I've played on SRP on and off for a few years now, but in the past year I have really dedicated more time to being on the server. I am pretty active, I like to get on for at least an hour or two every day to see if something is going on, and usually spend more time once I've found something to do. Most of the week I probably spend at least over three hours on SchoolRP, give or take a few in order to avoid burnout. If I'm ever needed to be on for something, I can usually be messaged through Discord, and I'll be on as soon as I can be. I am just starting college, but I don't have too many in person classes at the moment.

Describe your roleplay experience with SchoolRP and other roleplay networks in general:
As stated previously, I've played on and off for a few years, but most of my time on SchoolRP has been this current year. I have participated in GangRP, being one of the top members of Man'en currently, helping grow and manage our community. I also participate in roleplay with my fellow Togomi family members, which has been a lot of fun and has taught me how to be a better writer in many ways, including DetailRP. I have gone to many college and high school classes, participating in them has been a fun experience, and has shown me what students like to do in the classes that they join. Outside of Roleplay Hub, I have spent a lot of time on Garry's Mod roleplay servers in my past, which was my first real roleplaying experience.
What are your current roles on SchoolRP:
College Bachelors
Fish
What is the subject you want to teach?:
Human Anatomy
TRIVIA SECTION
What is your motivation for becoming a professor?:
I think learning about the human body is important, both in and outside of character. I would love to use my class to teach people about the intricacies of the human body, which I feel a lot of people don't receive a lot of information about. This includes how the systems of the body interact with each other, and how the body works together to keep you alive. This subject would be both interesting to teach, and interesting to learn about. It would also provide for roleplay scenarios where characters can learn more about themselves, and work to stay healthier.
I want to specifically become a professor because I have graduated through high school to college bachelors using the new homework, and I understand that this system has been added to college to allow students to become masters. As such, I understand the system from the student's point of view, and I know what students prefer to see in classes. I understand the balance between the homework being too hard, being too easy, the class being not engaging, and the students not being engaged with the class. I would like an opportunity to engage students with classes, on top of providing homework which lots of students want to get from classes.
Work out two interactive classes you will host if accepted:
1. Student Lead Organ System Interaction Discussion (4-6 Students)
In this class, each student will be assigned a different organ system, and will be asked to research how it interacts with other organ systems in the body. After the provided research time has elapsed, the students will be asked to pair up with one other person (in the event of an odd number, I will talk to one of the students). In their pairs, the students will discuss how their respective organ system interacts with their partner's organ system. After a short discussion, the students will rotate to a different partner, and repeat the process of discussion. The students will go around the entire class eventually, and have talked about how their respective organ system interacts with all of the other student's organ
This class is designed to encourage student engagement, while at the same time reinforcing how connected the human body is. Each student is assigned with their own organ system to research, which gives them a unique insight to one organ system that is "theirs". Being asked to see how their organ system interacts with other organ systems in the body, and having the students talk to each other about how their organ system interacts, forces the students to see how each system in the body is weaved tightly together. This achieves both the main goal of the class, which is to show students the interactions between organ systems in the human body, and the secondary goal of keeping students engaged with the material.
2. Major Arteries of the Human Body (4-8 Students)
This class will be a more traditional lecture style class. I will talk to the class about the major arteries in the human body, starting with the aortic artery, and following it's branches. The class will follow the route of the arteries throughout the body, noting how they supply each area with oxygenated blood. I would go over the different branches of the arteries, showing how they branch off from the main artery to supply their respective regions. In my actions, I would trace the route of the arteries in a manner that allows the students listening along to follow where the arteries are going, both in character and out of character.
To me, one of the hardest parts about hosting a class on SRP is the lack of visual references for the topics that are being discussed. This class is designed in a way that encourages a solution around the lack of visual aids. Human anatomy is a unique subject, because the player behind the screen can look to themselves as a reference for certain things. Following the path of the major arteries through one's own body is an easy way that someone can follow along to the course material, and is a good example of how someone can follow along to the lesson.
Work out a field trip (meaning a class outside school grounds) you will host if accepted:
A field trip to the hospital to learn about the human body from working medical professionals. The trip would be organized with the medical staff, making sure that they are fully aware of the trip, understand what the purpose of the trip would be, and understand what might be asked of them due to the field trip. The trip would consist of arriving at the hospital, and talking to certain staff there. The students can ask questions pertaining to the medical field, and receive relevant answers and information from the staff. They could tour the hospital, seeing different rooms with different machinery. There, the students can learn about the different devices that the hospital has, and better understand their function. Seeing them in person helps a student know what to expect from the machines, and shows how advanced modern medicine has become.
SCENARIO SECTION
Your character would encounter a group of college jocks surrounding a bobcat jock, what would your character do?
Sutorenji would interrupt the group by first calmly asking the group what was going on. Sutorenji, while not being one for caring for the classic rivalries, does understand them, and as such knows to understand the college jocks as one side, and the bobcat jock as the other side. This is to make sure that the group of people couldn't just lie and make something up to use as harassment toward the singular person. After listening to the students, Sutorenji would most likely tell the students to separate and stay away from each other, with a warning that further harassment would lead to a detention. Sutorenji would make sure to take the single student aside and talk to them, to make sure that they are okay and provide them with advice on how to avoid them, such as staying close to where teachers frequent and close to CCTV. After finalizing with the students, the last thing he would do would be to radio to the rest of the faculty, informing them of the situation and that the students have already been warned to stay away from each other.
Your character would be supervising detention, one of the students constantly disturbs by asking stupid questions, what would your character do?
Sutorenji would entertain the stupid questions for a moment, using them as chances to tell the student that they just need to finish the work and they can get out of detention, explaining that the student is just wasting their own time. If the student does not stop, and instead continues to disturb detention, Sutorenji would warn the student that they have already received detention as their punishment, and they don't want to receive more punishment for disturbing the detention.
Your character would be hosting a class, and a group of cheerleaders keeps on playing songs on the phone and calling out other students in the class, what would your character do?
College classes are less strict than high school classes, however that is due to the assumption that you are there to learn and not be a disturbance. Sutorenji would explain this to the cheerleaders, warning them that their behavior could result in a removal from the class or a detention if they continue. Sutorenji would make sure to clearly define the disruptive behavior, and will have a zero tolerance policy for the behavior mentioned. If the cheerleaders try to start another disturbance after being warned, Sutorenji would not hesitate to remove them from the class, and potentially give a detention depending on the severity of their actions.
Your character would be walking on the school perimeter and encounter a fight between a couple of students, your character tried to break it up but it didn't help, what would your character do?
Before stepping in to break up the fight, Sutorenji would immediately inform the rest of faculty of the fight, the location it is occurring at, and the people involved. After trying and failing to break up the fight, Sutorenji would tell the people not involved in the fight to leave the area, so the people fighting could be isolated and talked to. Sutorenji would give one last warning to the people fighting, that they are already going to get detention, and if they continue fighting they will be receiving a report to SLT. That would be his last warning, and any more action continuing the fight would lead him to write a report on the students involved. After the fight is broken up, Sutorenji would make sure that any injured students make their way to the nurses office, and everyone involved in the fight would have a detention slip.
CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. What does they look like? What makes them unique and different? What is their outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is their personality like? What is their plan for the future?
Rita Sutorenji is 52 years old, and he looks almost 60. His face and hands are marked by wrinkles, looking at them feels like counting the rings of a log to see the age of an old tree. He wears plain professional clothing, nothing that you would be surprised seeing a professor wear. The way he talks and carries himself makes him seem like a bit of an egotistical asshole to some, mostly people who don't know him, or knew him in the past. This is because of his very sarcastic manner of speaking, which unintentionally can seem belittling to some. He has been like this for most of his life, being worse and intentionally belittling in the past. However, he has recently seen how he hurts people in this manner, and has changed. He tries to be supportive, and helpful to others, despite the way he may seem. He looks out for when people are affected by himself, and makes sure to clarify that he truly does care, has good intentions, and asks what he could do better.
Sutorenji sees students by the potential that they hold. While this may sound just like a generic thing you would hear from teachers, Sutorenji truly believes it. In his past life, he had been an extremely successful neurosurgeon, and now that he can't practice his career, he believes that teaching others to take his place is the next best thing that he can do. Sutorenji may speak sarcastically and fast to students, but when it is something serious, he understands that he needs to take a step back and slow down. He knows that what he is doing is for these students, and he needs to do everything in his power to help them.
When talking to his fellow colleagues, he loves to talk about their respective fields, while trying to avoid talking about his own. He knows the type of person that he can look like at times, most of all when talking about working as a doctor, and he doesn't want his colleagues to think of him like that. When he has to bring up his career, he is extremely careful with what he says, talking in a slow and almost calculated way.
Sutorenji doesn't fully know his plan for the future. He has accepted that he will go with the flow of the universe, if he should teach, he will continue to teach. If something else calls to him, to become his calling, he will follow the flow of where life takes him. He has adopted a very carefree attitude about this, in contrast to the way he once lived his life, but he finds that this lifestyle makes him happier, because it does more for the world.
Describe how your character ended up becoming a teacher and their previous life. It is optional to include earlier life but recommended.
Make sure this is over 100 words.
Rita Sutorenji was born in 1973 in Tokyo. Throughout his life, he had always been extremely smart, he went through his schooling with ease. Without any real obstacles in his way, he grew extremely arrogant. He was the first member of his family to get into college, let alone medical school, and the way he boosted about this alienated him from his family. He didn't care though, he didn't need them, all he needed to do was become the best. At 26, he started his 7 year neurosurgeon residency at the University of Toyko. When he finished his residency, he was immediately hired to work as a neurosurgeon at the University of Toyko Hospital. He was extremely skilled, with him being considered one of the best surgeons very soon after he was hired. Sutorenji let all of his skill go to his head, and he developed an extremely strong ego. Over the 15 years he had worked there, he had pushed away pretty much everyone, from friends, potential partners, and partners. While in medical school, he met another student, and he admired her intelligence, considering her almost on his level. They dated throughout medical school, marrying around the time Sutorenji became a full neurosurgeon. He was happy with her, she was the only person that he tried to be humble with. However, he paid the price of his wife, when his arrogant nature finally was too much for her. At his 15th year anniversary party (which people only showed up to because they thought if they didn't, he wouldn't work with them, and that was true), his wife stormed in and yelled at him, cursing him out, before telling him she's getting a divorce and storming out. The party was scheduled for her birthday, and he had completely forgotten about it, not even calling or texting her. It was awkward at work afterwards, but not as much as you would expect, because his wife didn't say anything that pretty much everyone already thought. A few months after this, after working late in surgery, Sutorenji got into an elevator, and headed down. All of a sudden, an earthquake, along with a sudden failure of equipment caused the elevator cables to snap, sending Sutorenji down to the ground.
Sutorenji woke up in the same hospital he works at, confined to a hospital bed. The fall had caused severe damage to both his spinal cord, and his hands. Sutorenji put his hands up to his face, with a horrified realization. His hands shook, intensely, the tremors increased as he knew he could never operate again. In an instant, his entire life had been ruined. Sutorenji went through months of intense physical therapy, but nothing could help his mental state. The best physical condition he got to was being able to roll in a wheelchair. He despised the wheelchair, he told his physical the******s when they asked why, that it made him feel weak. That was a story that everyone would believe, but the truth is he didn't care what others thought of him, the truth is that he felt like he could never take an elevator again, and being confined to a wheelchair meant that he couldn't take stairs either. He felt fear, his first real phobia, and it was boxes that go up and down. He felt pathetic for this fear, but he realized that's not the real reason he felt this way. He was sitting in his apartment, looking around. All he saw was awards for neurosurgery, books about the topic, photos of himself getting awards, but no photos of himself and someone he cared about. He made this his whole life, and pushed away everyone else, and he had lost the only thing he had. The next day, he was rolling around Tokyo, when he accidentally ran over the foot of a monk. He apologized, and started to talk with the man. He told Sutorenji that he was a Buddhist monk, and Buddhism had helped support him through the hard times in his life. Sutorenji told the monk about the person he was, and the person he is now, how he pushed everyone away and has nothing left. He had nothing left in his life, and he's a horrible person who cannot get better. The monk told him that is what he believed as well, before starting his journey, and gave him the location of a monastery in the Tibetan Plateau.
Sutorenji felt a connection to the man and what he had told him, and took his advice in full. He got on a plane, and flew to the closest place he could go to get to the place the man had described. Tibet, and especially the areas near the temple were extremely different to the urban city environment. The rough rural terrain made it extremely difficult for Sutorenji to get around while being confined to a wheelchair. The first leg of his journey, the plane trip, barely took Sutorenji a day, the second leg of journey, getting to the monastery took just over a year of travel. Sutorenji didn't bring any of his money or devices, he decided this would be his pilgrimage. He didn't believe he deserved those items, and if he were to make his journey using them, he would never learn. The long trip finally ended when he was at the base of the monastery, the one problem is that it was on the top of a large mountain, needing to climb up a large set of stairs to reach. Sutorenji was a different person to a year ago, both mentally and physically, and he wouldn't let these stairs get in his way. He slowly climbed his way up the stairs, using the limited movement in his legs that he could. He rejected any help offered, he had to do this, he was so close. After a long and hard climb, he made it to the top, and greeted the monastery staff. He told them about his life, his accident, and his pilgrimage, and he told them that he wanted to be a better person. For the next four years, Sutorenji lived and worked in the monastery, doing the proper maintenance tasks, and healing spiritually. As his mental state improved, he became a more pious person, and it became easier for him to walk. Three years into his journey, he regained the use of his legs fully, though he still used a cane for support. His hands were still injured, the damage to the nerves were so severe, it wasn't even considered if they could be restored to any functionality. Sutorenji found that the more humble he was, the easier it was to control his hand tremors. It would never be enough that he could go back to work, but he didn't want to anymore. Around his fifth year at the monastery, he started to think about what he could do to help others. He knew he still had some sort of skill, and he wanted to use that to help others in the world. He realized that he could become a professor, and teach the next generation of doctors. He first thought of trying to teach at Tokyo University, but he realized that his past would continue to haunt him there, and he didn't believe he would be able to work there effectively. He instead saw that teaching at Karakura would be the best place for him to be. He made his pilgrimage back to the airport, which took less time. Not only had he regained the use of his legs, but he was a much better person, and that made the journey an easier one. He knew that he still has parts of his past and ego that haunt him, but he still wants to start anew as a professor.
IN-CHARACTER SECTION
1 - PERSONAL DATA
Full Name:
"Rita Sutorenji." The man's voice is one that has almost a bit too large a hint of pride, and at first glance the man would seem almost arrogant. However, when looking closely at the man, his body language shows someone that has lived a long life. The most obvious sign is the man's shaking hands, which he takes a deep breath to calm the shaking. The signs of his long life does not necessarily refer to his age, but to someone who has changed as a person through the course of his life. Despite the amount of change he has gone through, he still keeps a hint of an egotistical tone.
Title (Mr, Mrs, Miss):
He thinks for a moment before shaking his head. "Mr. is fine." He's resisting the urge to request being called 'Doctor'.
Given Name(s):
"My first name is Rita, but people do often refer to me by my last name, Sutorenji."
Preferred Name:
"I prefer to go by my last name, Sutorenji."
Age:
"I'm 52 years old, I know I look older, but that's the truth."
Gender & pronouns:
"I'm male and use he/him."
Religious Denomination:
"I'm not a particularly religious man." Sutorenji pauses for a moment, looking down at his shaking hands. "I do practice Buddhism however, I find many of their meditation tactics and ideals comforting, even if I don't believe in the religious aspect." Sutorenji takes another pause, closing his eyes for a moment before looking back at his trembling hands. They almost look like they are shaking a little less.
Marital Status:
Sutorenji touches the bottom of his left ring finger with his thumb. There is no ring there, only the wear of where a ring would be. "Divorced..." He is hesitant in his answer, his voice is full of regret. His hands start to noticeably shake again. "That was a long time ago, I'm a new person." Sutorenji speaks this time with confidence, but a single thing could shatter this. The confidence he puts on feels more so like he's trying to convince himself that he really has changed.
Nationality:
"I'm a Japanese citizen, I was born to Japanese parents."
Current Location:
"Currently I am at the Lhasa Gonggar International Airport in Lhasa, Tibet."
SECTION 2: Academic Details
Teaching Experience (# of years):
Sutorenji head tilts down slightly. He blinks slowly, trying to think of a good way to answer this question. "This would be my first formal teaching experience." His tone shows that he isn't too happy with his answer. Not the way he answered, but the answer itself. He feels this too, however, and he knows he doesn't have to be too hard on himself for this. He rubs his forehead with his right hand, and takes a breath.
Working Experience (# of years):
This time, Sutorenji's head perks up in contrast to his reaction to the previous question. "Well, I started my neurosurgery residency at the University of Tokyo, which lasted for 7 years. After finishing my residency, I was employed as a neurosurgeon for 15 years. Marking 22 years in total." This time, it is extremely easy to see a prideful person in him. To Sutorenji's credit, he is trying really hard to not brag about his achievements in his previous career. You could easily see another version of this same person, bragging about their accomplishments. In comparison, the one that is before you seems pretty good.
Academic Degree:
"My highest form of degree is my Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Tokyo."
Year of Graduation:
"I graduated medical school in 1996."
Major(s):
"I majored in Biology."
Minors:
"I minored in Biochemistry and Physics."
Native Languages:
"I grew up speaking Japanese."
Other Languages:
This question felt harder to answer for Sutorenji. "I learned Chinese during my time as a monk in Tibet." Sutorenji goes to continue his answer, but stops to look at his tremors in his hands. He closes his eyes and takes a breath. "I also understand Japanese Sign Language... I learned it for my former partner's mother. Although my current condition does not allow me to sign properly, I can still understand someone signing." He still continues to make sure he understands JSL, tells himself it is important to know how to sign for those who are deaf, but a small part of him continues to keep it up because he misses his wife.
Preferred Teaching Subject:
"I would prefer to teach Human Anatomy. I think it is an important thing to teach, and I would love to help students that want to become doctors in the future."

He thinks for a moment before shaking his head. "Mr. is fine." He's resisting the urge to request being called 'Doctor'.
