Describe your activity on the server:
I typically log onto the server later in the days when I'm done with my homework and have free time. I'm coming off of a decently big break from Srp and am decently active again! As for my history on the server I've been fairly dedicated to crime RP and gang RP but have been looking to get into a different kind of roleplay!

APPLICATION INFORMATION
What position are you applying for?:
I'm applying for the position of lawyer.
What is your motivation for applying?:
My motivation for applying is multifaceted. I'm coming off of a pretty long break, I've realized the burnout that caused me to originally leave Srp came from my devotion to a single roleplaying style, being crime RP. I believe diving into a new type of roleplay within a different community of people could not only reinvigorate my love for Srp but also show me a whole new community I've been missing out on!
I also have a large interest in not only the laws within Karakura’s borders but also how the entire legal system works. I'm personally used to seeing legal action taken from the outside, but I'd like to understand it on a much more personal and realistic level. Instead of looking at the court cases from the outside in, I want to experience it personally and challenge myself with a completely separate perspective, not only hoping to improve my knowledge on Karakura as a whole but also my ability to roleplay in an environment I'm not used to.
My final reason for wanting to apply for this position is because I've always had a certain fascination with the role of a lawyer. Imagine this, you've been arrested and your last lifeline before you get sent to jail walks in the door, it's a lawyer. This man isn't here to break you out or anything crazy, he's here to use his understanding of the law to fight for you. The ability to help people purely with my knowledge of the rules is such a fascinating concept to me as a person that I feel I have to delve further into it and actually explore the role.
What are your goals for being in Government Faction?:
My first goal is to build my roleplay and writing skills. One of the lawyer’s main roles is to debate an opposing lawyer, and I'm looking to become more comfortable in situations like this. I'm also trying to build my own ability to not only persuade but debate with writing. One of my main goals on Srp is to improve my ability to write and convey emotion in my writing. I think that I could use this role as a stepping stone to further that and gain experience with this style of writing.
My second goal is to learn the intricacies of Karakura’s law. I want the ability to interpret and create successful defensive strategies based around those same intricacies. Additionally I want to understand the law from the view of prosecution and defense, allowing me to approach any case with better comprehension and bring a better roleplay experience to my client and the opposing counsel.
My third goal is to build bridges and connections with those who I haven't had the ability to either interact or connect with before. I think joining a new faction is a great opportunity to make new friends and meet new people.
In your own words, describe the different roles of the Government Faction:
Lawyer: The lawyer's job is to defend their client’s claim while following the correct procedure. Whether they are prosecution or defense they represent their clients interests and present fair arguments to assist. They also make sure the courtroom proceedings stay fair by holding their opposing counsel responsible in their questioning and presentation. The lawyer is crucial to all parts of the trial, from the intro and opening statements, guiding their clients testimonies, providing all the evidence for their point, and finishing off with their striking closing statement to finally convince the judges of their side.
Governor: The governor's job is to tend to the general public. Governors hand out ID’s to people who need one at a 5000 yen charge. They also do the paperwork and approve not only adoptions but also marriages. Finally they handle citizen complaints. Whether its issues like light pollution, road size, or any other community matter its the role of the governor to see to it and help the general population of Karakura.
Judge: The judge is in my opinion one of the most key pieces of government. First their most obvious job is clearly providing the verdicts to trials. Everything that a lawyer and client put into a trial can be so quickly subverted or rewarded by the judges. At the end of the day everything in the courtroom is up to them. They also deal with providing Kpd search warrants helping them legally search possibly criminal residences for anything illegal. Finally they help people who are in need file restraining orders which are vital to those who are victims of harassment or other possibly violent crimes.
Do you acknowledge that upon being accepted you can be subject to removal at any given time?:
I acknowledge this is a possibility.
Have you read & agreed to follow the Government Faction rules?:
I have read over and agree to the government faction rules.
IN CHARACTER SECTION
I underlined the answers to make it easier to find them <3
Full name:
Seigi slightly shifted in his seat making himself comfortable with the chair. The man started speaking but stopped, his voice was coarse with smoke and nerves, clearing his throat he began once more, “My name is Sairasu Seigi. I'm here for the lawyer position you posted.” He blinked, waiting for the next question to be asked.
Preferred title (Mr., Mrs., etc.):
The man started speaking almost immediately this time, “Personally a simple Mr would be plenty.” His response was punctuated by a gravely cough.
Current age:
It was clear Seigi was getting more comfortable in his surroundings. His voice had grown slightly louder and he was now leaning back in his chair, apparently his nerves at the beginning had washed away with the questions. "I'm turning 35 in October, but as of right now I'm 34.”
Date of birth:
“I was born on October 27th” The man's demeanor was much the same as the last question although his eyes had locked onto his interviewer, focused.
Gender:
“Im a-” his sentence was interrupted by a sharp cough. “Sorry, I'm a male.” He cleared his throat trying to wipe the memory of the cough from his mouth.
Academic Degree:
“Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. I got it before I joined the force. Figured I might need something solid to fall back on.” He smirked faintly, a hint of pride showing through his otherwise tired expression. “I also decided to minor in forensic psychology. I had decided that if I couldn't be a cop or lawyer, a criminal psychologist would work fine too.”
Major(s):
Criminal Justice
Minor(s):
Forensic Psychology
Work experience:
He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table. “Started off as an officer actually, Tokyo PD. I was fresh out of university and was convinced I was gonna fix the world one arrest at a time.” He let out a chuckle, shaking his head. “It didn't take long to realize the badge doesn’t fix people, it just gave me a front-row seat to the worst parts of them.” He paused for a moment, his gaze drifting to the side. “Worked the job for about three years before my passion burned out.” His tone shifted slightly, steadier. “After that, I went back to what I had studied, law. Got a position at a small firm and started taking defense cases. Divorce hearings, petty thefts, all that boring stuff.” He reached into his coat pocket instinctively looking for his lighter, then remembered he was mid interview. “Did that for seven or eight years. Eventually, I left Tokyo altogether. Needed somewhere a bit quieter, but not quite dead. Karakura felt like the right balance. Still screwed up, but a manageable amount.”
Nationality & born location:
Japanese born in Tokyo
Fluent languages (Underline your native):
“I speak both Japanese and Spanish."
Criminal record:
Seigi gave a short, tired laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. “I have a clean record. You don’t last long on the force without keeping one."
What makes you a good candidate for this job?
