Describe your activity on SchoolRP:
I am very active on SchoolRP, I use it to pass the time and have fun. I am busy finishing up my schoolwork for these ending months of classes, as I typically work two to three times a week, depending on my school schedule. I am normally active after 3 pm my time, provided I don’t have work that day. If I am scheduled, I normally get on SchoolRP at 9 pm my time, sometimes later if I am exhausted after work. But yes, I am quite active on the server as I get on every day! I find it a great experience to be able to have fun, meet new people, and improve my writing skills. I enjoy every moment on this server, so I try to be as active as possible. I wouldn’t want to miss out on anything!
I do take breaks from SchoolRP sometimes when I need mental breaks, but I always end up coming back to the server due to the amount of friends I have and my love for it. I enjoy being able to write and have fun.
Describe your roleplay experience with SchoolRP and other roleplay networks in general:
I have over 6 years of experience in role-playing, but have only been using my skills on SRP since November of 2022.SchoolRp has for sure helped me grow my skills into what they are today. I adore writing and this server has given me the ability to create characters and form story lines about them. I have been on multiple sports teams that all involved detailrp as their main source of practice and team work. I enjoyed every last bit of it and believe everyone should focus on a detailRP based sport at least once in their time on the server.
I have role-played using different apps and games, such as Roblox, Amino communities, and other various video games. I consider myself a detail role-player as I always give all my skills into a single role-play text, and my skills are always growing. I role-play every single day, and mostly have been for those six years. I consider role-playing to be one of my number one hobbies and find love for it. I love to be able to make my own characters and give them their own roles and likes in life.
What are your current roles on SchoolRP:
[College][B][Dodgeball] Khoa Tang-Maeng
[Cat] Mister Meows
[Grade-12] Aloisia Wagner
[Bear] Fanta
[Grade-9] Tucker ‘Tuck’ Delmont
What is the subject you want to teach?:
The subject I will be requesting is performing arts!
TRIVIA SECTION
What is your motivation for becoming a professor?:
My motivation for becoming a professor is my love for creating characters and story-building. I would love to be able to play a character with a unique perspective and even influence other characters ICly that way. I put a lot of thought and time into making my characters, wanting them to seem like they were their own person. With that being stated, I feel as if being a professor will give me the ability to build a character and help many others with my character's influence to do the same.
I have also always had a love for performing arts ever since I started SRP, the classes hosted on the server are actually what led to me enjoying the concept altogether! Beforehand, I had no liking for performing arts or anything of the sort. SchoolRP has opened that window to me and helped me find something I find passion in.
To continue on, I see the professor faction in all as something that is lacking. My main character is a college student, and it's hard to find classes that are ACTUALLY fun. The whole point of the server IS schoolrp, and to have fun. How can we possibly have fun if the professors rarely do anything that will attract new students into their classes? I want to help change that and bring a fun setting to the professor faction.
In conclusion, I would like to show my passion for the subject and overall help the professor faction become more popular over time.
Work out two interactive classes you will host if accepted:
1.
“Silent Story”
silent improv practice!
Students will be asked to get into groups of 4, being told that they have to make a short story with each others help! They will be given 5 minutes to talk over their plot line, creating a start, middle, and end. It is important that every student has a role in the improv practice, to help build their teamwork and overall skills! They need to select two main characters and two side characters, making sure all four get enough screen time. The assignment has a set time limit of 10 minutes! They will be graded and scored on how well they did. It’s important they plan out their silent performance well.
Instead of normal speaking and using props, they will be required to use their body movement and facial expressions to tell the crowd a story! They need to convert emotions into the way they move, the way their faces change. This can help students improve their movements and facial expressions in overall acting, ensuring that not only their voice is the core of their performance.
If there is not enough students in class, the original 4 will be put into groups of two or three. Some students can even request the help of the professor if the number of students is lacking.
After the end of this practice, students will be given 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. They will be required after their performance to tell the professor and the rest of the class how it is important to put our body language into a performance, as it helps explain the character they are acting without words.
2.
“Emotion Swap”
An emotional storytelling practice!
At the start of class, all students will be given a paper where they are requested to put down an emotion. This emotion is supposed to be one that they had felt recently, in about a days tim. For example, if they were sad a couple of hours ago, they would put sadness down on the piece of paper. That includes being happy, lonely, stressed, or even angry. Quick and easy! They do not sign their name and return the piece of paper back to the professor in a reasonable amount of time. With that, the papers are put into a box and mixed around. Each student will come up, taking out a random piece of paper from the box.
The idea is for the student to get a random emotion and be able to do a quick improv performance based on that emotion. Sometimes people need to work on the spot and come up with things, with a set emotion they can properly display a set of emotion.
The performance will need to be a quick 2 minutes long with proper face expressions, body movements, and a dramatic tone of speech. This will be a solo practice with all eyes on them! Though if two or more students get the same emotion on the paper, then they can get the ability to work together for this character-building project!
Work out a field trip (meaning a class outside school grounds) you will host if accepted:
“Karakura's drama students!”
Students will be informed that they will be going on a small field trip to the beach! This field trip will be joined by some Karakura staff, including extra professors and teachers. The class is told to plan a well-thought-out performance involving the beach. They will be given three random words to surround the improv around! Such as “water” “ball” “breeze”. They just add these words into the performance and make it one of the main focuses. This will be decided randomly by a wheel.
The weeks following this, they will need to make their own props from their own materials along with their own outfits! They need to make proper characters, names, and personality! A script will be needed and approved by the professor, giving a pass or a denial. The professor is allowed to make changes!
The class will be given two weeks to complete their story, and should be ready to host by the time limit. The story needs to have a proper plot, with a good start and end. Characters need to be introduced in entertaining ways! The teachers and professors will give a rating of the performance, as it will reflect on the students overall grade.
The whole point of this field trip is to get used to doing performances outside of their class and get fresh air, along with working together and perfecting a story together. Each individual must take part in every needed detail, thus including clothes, props, story line, and any final touches the students wish to add.
SCENARIO SECTION
Your character would encounter a group of college jocks surrounding a bobcat jock, what would your character do?
Khoi would pause, staring at the group of spartans surrounding the bobcat. He took note of how many there were, knowing he’d need it for later. With a sigh, he mastered a large smile on tan features! Maeng walked up to the group of students. “HEY!” he loudly clapped his hands twice.
He’d ask the students what was happening, trying to properly figure out the situation. If the students were to all walk away, he’d talk to any remaining ones and request everyone keep their peace.
If there seems to be a fight and violence, Khoi will handle the situation himself calmly. He will ask everyone to step back and if they don’t, everyone involved will receive a detention. If he must, he will pass out detention slips to everyone who failed to listen to his words.
In the case everything is completely okay, and he has made sure that no one is getting hurt, he will leave the students alone and let them continue whatever they were up to.
Your character would be supervising detention, one of the students constantly disturbs by asking stupid questions, what would your character do?
Khoi would lend a hand to the other staff working currently suggesting that he will handle the situation, walking over to the student.
He’d answer every question the student had, no matter the answer all while keeping a wide smile on his face. He’d stay by the students side and ensure they have no more following issues.
If the student starts to get more and more annoying with their questions, Khoi will make small jokes, all harmless but it will silently encourage the student to understand that the answer to their question is common sense.
Your character would be hosting a class, and a group of cheerleaders keeps on playing songs on the phone and calling out other students in the class, what would your character do?
Maeng will be funny about it the first time, asking them to put that energy into their improv performances or their pieces of writing. He wants everyone to have a good experience in his classroom! People only get so many memories during college, he just hopes his class is one of them!
If they continue to be loud, he will firmly ask them again to stop, telling them their will be further measures taken if so needed. Sadly, if that does not help, he will have the cheerleaders go on stage and do quick improv practice on why distracting professors' classes are really bad and should not be done.
Alas, if they are rude and refuse to go through with their grace period, detentions will be passed out. They should be on good behaviour, they are on a team after all.
Your character would be walking on the school perimeter and encounter a fight between a couple of students, your character tried to break it up but it didn't help, what would your character do?
He would use the radio to inform others on the situation, clearly he wasn’t able to stop this one. He’d wait for help while trying to calm the situation best to his ability while he waited. He would threaten detention if things got bad and if they continued, even SLT.
Once help arrives, he will assist his fellow coworkers and even councillors to settle the issue.
Once the situation is taken care of, he will pass out needed detentions and even escort the injuried students to the nurses office where they can be treated. He will ask these students what happened, trying to give help where it is needed.
CHARACTER KNOWLEDGE
Tell us everything you know about the character you will be playing in a few paragraphs. What does they look like? What makes them unique and different? What is their outlook on Students? What about the other teachers? What is their personality like? What is their plan for the future?
Khoi Maeng is a very polite and out standing man, trying to bring smiles and happiness everywhere he goes. He strives to help others, always helping out in food banks and taking care of his family when they need a hand. He is a very funny guy, always cracking jokes in order to make the people around him feel safe and comfortable! He is a fairly tall man, standing at the proud height of 5’11. His dark hair perfectly farming his shape but kind features, giving him a stern but gentle look! The man's eyes were a gentle black, but they seemed tired as if he hadn't had a drop of caffeine in years.
Maeng always adored teaching and showing his knowledge to others, so being able to teach students about his passion for theater and acting is something he can get lost in and enjoy. It's a passion, always looking forward to helping today's youth grow smarter. He takes a liking to other staff and other teachers, knowing they have similar wants to help the youth! He thinks everyone has a good side that he wants to help bring out in everyone.
All Khoi wants in the future is to know he made an impact on others life, that he positively changed someone's life into what it is in the present. He hopes to live a peaceful life as well, helping his family when it is needed.
Describe how your character ended up becoming a teacher and their previous life. It is optional to include earlier life but recommended.
Make sure this is over 100 words.
Khoi was born in south korean, a city known as Busan. He was raised there, but his parents were very absent. His older sister, Kyung-Ah, took the most care of them despite their short age gap. She had dreams of becoming a teacher and teaching the youth, whilst Khoi merely supported her with those dreams. He never had a want to become a professor growing up, more so focused on inheriting his parents company when he came of age.
Sadly, for our beloved Maeng, plans fall flat. His parents' company was sold off to another, as he was left with empty promises. The future he was promised was no longer at his finger tips, and he had to figure out his own life. For a couple years, he struggled. He was no longer the rich spoiled kid but a young man going from job to job, trying his best in life. At some point, he had met a wonderful woman who swept him right off his feet, she was everything he had ever wanted and more. She was an angel in a world full of demons. The woman's name was Ji-Eun, and she soon became his happy wife.
Ji-Eun helped him see the world he's never seen before, and helped him come out of his shell completely! But on one rainy day, he received word his older sister had passed away at a very young age. He was devastated, his heart broken for the woman who practically raised him. His wife got him out of his depression, dragging him out of the deepest caves. She told him to follow his sister’s dream of teaching the youth, and that’s where he found his future passion. Khoi had finally found the one thing he was interested in taking on as a job, teaching. He had always loved theater, secretly having a love for acting. So with his wife’s help and support, he had studied to be a professor.
They were happy and comfortable after years, as they were slowly making a family together.
Though, fate was never on Maeng’s good side.
On March 4th, 2020, he stood in front of Ji-Eun’s grave.
