There is a mod (i know) & probably a plugin where a small gray box with 3 dots appear over a players head that indicates they are currently typing in chat that I would love to see on the server because it's hard to know when someone is either suddenly afk, done typing responses, ignoring you as they just don't want to interact or even trying to reply to someone but often times results in people leaving the scenario just because they didnt realize you were trying to reply to them, people posting over top of each other causing confusion, people doing an action before/attacking thinking you aren't gonna talk or people accidentally posting multiple times making it difficult for someone to reply to each.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
Everyone types at different speeds, this was something me & some other players talked about OOCly that we wish excisted on the server to help the Quality of Life in RPing so everyone is heard & people know if/when someone is trying to respond to them or not instead of standing there awkwardly wondering "..are.. are they there?", "Do they not wanna talk?", "Are they afk?", "Did i lose connection?".

You could always just add the mod to your client.

Leaning to neutral as this would sound cool but if there's a mod for it they might just say add it on your end instead.

This is not something the server would be able to add with base minecraft. If you want to see if someone is typing, try downloading mods as lune said. otherwise youll just have to ask in looc to see if someone is typing

It sounds difficult and unrealistic

this was suggested a couple months ago, not possible to implement without server-side mods

See it's a good idea on theory! Would love it.

But the issue is, sometimes people can be afk with their chats open (which would indicate they are typing). Then the mod won't be reliable at all.

it's generally easy to hint whether you're typing or not. You could either download a mod as Lune mentioned or what Liz Mentioned being to ask in looc if they're here or AFK.

I did see a suggestion for this, however the mod that was suggested was bugged and wouldn't work :/
