Look, I noticed lightning missing from the server a while ago. It made me sad, because my character has a phobia of lightning. I don't even know if it was intentional; as far as I know, there are two types of rain on the server, and one is a storm. It turns out that lightning is common during rain. It's estimated that more than 8 million lightning bolts occur every day around the world.
The server already had this, but it disappeared. And I think it was supposed to happen, because the storm icon shows lightning, but they don't happen on the server. And is it difficult to change just one little thing? It's already in Minecraft. Just change a plugin's behavior, knowing that in server storms, it should use the storm in Minecraft.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
Look, I don't know about others, but for me, it makes the server feel more realistic. And it also helps develop my characters' behaviors.

Yes! I've noticed too, and I love thunderstorms. The act of changing behaviors (going inside during them) will enhance roleplay, since people don't even flinch when it comes to regular rain. And even if you don't move and get struck? I hear your character gets stunned which is a super cool feature. Who DOESN'T love those rainy thunderstorms days where you stay inside and play games and watch movies? I liked the thunderstorm event ideas, but I'd also enjoy regular thunderstorms to be a thing too.

weather in general seems to be very stagnant lately, like what do you mean it's still constantly 25 C (77F for you americans) in mid october?

thunderstorms are an existing weather condition in the plugin but to my knowledge it doesnt actually summon any strikes. . .
