Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
Teachers are often the first people new players encounter. They guide and offer much insight into how the server runs. Such as. giving players opportunities to roleplay, how to use the commands, and how help with getting to college. Teachers bridge the gap between the new and old players. Not only that, but they are an integral part of the roleplay experience. As majority of the time spent on the server is in school. Meaning they have a fundamental role in a person's experience on the server.
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes

What's your character's full name?: My name is Chiba Toshio.
What is your character's nationality?: I'm Japanese.
What is your preferred subject to teach?: Maths
Describe your character:
Chiba is a 6'5 35 year old chunky husky Japanese male. Who's hair is jet black, shoulder length, and parted to cover his right eye. He's quiet and reserved when alone, but can become loud and excitable around those he is comfortable with. The man walked with a limp and usually had a cane, unless he lost it. Which he has done several times. Chiba wears grey hearing aids 24/7. He has a soothing smooth deep voice that was like the hum of a fine tuned engine. He consistently without fail smelled like an auto shop. It was as if Motor Oil was his cologne of choice.
"I don't know" was this man's favorite answer. It meant he still had something to teach and possibly something new to learn! Maybe a new method?Chi loved nothing more than pushing the limits of the human mind with numbers.
Chiba has never been deterred from teaching. Nothing could shake his love for the subject, which he would defend with his life. His passion for math radiates off of him in 360° waves to all his students the moment his mouth opens. Even when he's tired he finds something about math to gush over. Maybe even just simple algebra.
What is your character's outlook on students and co-workers?:
Chiba enjoys spending time with his co-workers on and off the clock. He finds them to mostly be enjoyable people to be around and has, in the past, formed meaningful life long
friendships with many. Which he hopes to do again.
As for the kids, like any other teacher he's excited. There's a type of charm that comes from teaching. Even with the chaotic nature of Karakura students, Chiba finds himself to enjoy the flow of the school. Even if it's like a hurricane ran through the place most of the time.
What is your character's motivation for teaching?:
Chiba's motivation for teaching stems from a love for numbers. In a world where everything feels like it's all working together against you, numbers were the only thing that were stable. To Chiba they made sense.
The rules of math were comforting to him. Like a rope guiding you out of a deep cave and into the light. Additionally, math was impossible to escape. No matter how one tried to deny it. Math was everywhere. Like water it was the base and fuel for so many things. Driving us forward towards the unimaginable.
Chiba teaches so that people will be able to understand at least one of life's great miracles. To show them that there is some structure through everything. Sharing the one subject he found sanctuary in, in hopes others feel the same.
Roleplay Scenarios
A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Chiba set down his book and pulled out the seat next to the child. He flipped to the instruction page and showed the student the instructions. Letting them get a visual of the problem. "Here in example 6 : 3/4 + 5/2 =? The denominators are different. We need them to be the same to add them. So what is the Least Common Denominator between 2 and 4?" He paused and waited "4. How do we get 2 to be 4? Multiply 2 by 2. Whatever we do to the denominator we do to the numerator. So 5 x 2= ? 10. We end up with 10/4. Now we can add. 3/4 +10/4 = 13/4 Or 3 1/4." He cleared his throat. "Did that help?"
A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
He turned toward the disruptive student. Shaking his head. "I have asked you too many times to quiet down. You've been disruptive to my lesson and inconsiderate of your classmate's learning. You and your friends may leave if you all wish to talk so badly." Chiba goes and opens the door for the students. "Anyone else who wants to be disruptive may join them." Once the kids leave he closes and locks the door. Going back to his desk and resuming his lesson.
Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
1. Math Bingo
The children are handed a notebook that has 5-15 answers or problems. The answers are randomized and each one will be called randomly. The teacher will say a problem or an answer to a problem. Such as 1/2 + 3/2 = ? (Answer: 4/2 or 2). Or 5= ? (Problem: 10/2) If the student has the answer or problem they mark an X next to the problem/answer if that is what is correct.
First to mark off all will get a treat.
2. Math Trivia/Jeopardy
The students will be split up into 2 teams. One side of the room v.s. the other.(Team A and B) Each team will have to send 1 person to answer at a time. Each question the teams swap who comes up and answers. Teams may whisper among each other before deciding on an answer. Only the person picked to answer may actually present an answer; which has to be said in the form of a question.
There will be 3-5 Categories with questions ranging in difficulty. At max each category will have 5 questions, with one that will be selected by the team who has been chosen to pick. Each team will flip flop between picking unless the previous team won in which they'll get to go again for up to 2 additional turns.
Each question will have points ranging from 100-500. Once a category and point value is picked. The question will be read aloud. After which the students will have a chance to answer. The team with their hand up first will get to answer. If wrong the other team gets a chance. If correct they get the points and choose again. If the other team wins they get the points and the team that was wrong loses the points they would have gotten if they answered correctly.
Example:
Question: (3^4)^5 =?
Points: 500
A: 3^19
Wrong
B: 3^20
Correct.
Team A: -500
Team B: +500
The teacher will keep track of points via the whiteboard or a notebook. The team with the most points wins a treat/bragging rights.
