Describe your activity on the server:
Now what is counting up to be around eight months to my memory and soon enough reaching a year. I'd been playing SRP almost every available weekend and/so often as every single day if my schedule had permitted it. While I spent a lot of my time either roleplaying with my family characters or ex-crime roleplaying; I'd find every aspect of learning and/or refining my skills extremely enjoyable. On the other hand, I've been known for shotgunning eighty art pieces a day (not literally) which developed my genuine love for characters. Whenever the time shines for me to begin flowering my football skills, I'd also intend on joining jock roleplay; the community being profound for making me await tryouts any day.
As for my current schedule this following year; I'd would like to confidently say I don't have any obstacles and can maintain an active standing in SRP. It would range from school work/exams or just my photography job which generates more money for art or SRP on the side. I've always let people know my activity notices ahead of time for the sake of simplicity and out of respect ensuring they always know whether I am available or not. While on the other hand, despite my time zone is set within EST (UTC-5), I've also found that other spare time is freely spent within the morning for European time zones even if it's just being in a call with friends.
What is your motivation for applying?:
While spending a lot of time within SRP either as a ex-criminal, teacher or even just a proactive student within the school. I've always found that KPD were the most respected and feared force both in-character and out-of-character. Now, it isn't about that respect which makes me motivated to apply, but rather creating that type of presence for the faction as a whole which makes roleplay so much more immersive. This part of SRP also sets the standard of roleplay outside of just the school faculty. It adjusts how your character should behave within the city law, keeps things in-order and overall just realistic.
On the other hand, I've had people encourage me to applying to KPD. It's a bit funny but I found that a little bit inspiring to try as hard as I could for KPD. As once told, Icarus had flown towards closer towards the sun, he had fallen from his highest points; into the darkest depths. Although, he did not frown as to fall it, must have meant he once soared. I am more than content already you read my application. Hence, a motivation to soar convincing you to accept me into a faction with such a hard applicant selectant process.
What knowledge do you have of Police Work?:

What knowledge do you have of Police Work?:
I will admit, I'm not the most educated when it comes to a field involving police work; however, I am more than happy to learn. To start, I'll go over a few basics. From what I have learned, this faction requires people to partake in both teamwork and unity; it isn't really something that works well if everyone is doing their own thing. It's a faction where collaboration and communication are key, because even small mistake can have big, serious consequences. The work itself, well that is something that can vary quite a bit, from simple duties like handling paperwork to far more intense, risky situations such as responding to a kidnapping or dealing with violent individuals. No matter how big or small the task is, they should all be handled responsibly and with respect for the job and the people who seem to be involved. From a bit of surface level interaction and peering over those involved in the faction, I've picked up a few things about the tools, ranks and code-signs that officers tend to demonstrate.
Within the department, there's a clear structure of ranks, each with its own purpose and responsibility carried with it.
[DETECTIVE SECTOR] Detective Superintendent is the highest rank of the detective division and can be perceived as the individual who makes the calls. In other words, a higher-up which is the equivalent of a police captain. Detective Chief Inspector are like the informants for the Detective Superintendent and are the only higher-up role other than the Detective Superintendent. Detective Inspector are in-charge for training the newer/lower-ranking detectives. They are also the individuals who conduct interrogations more often. Detective Sergeant are able to train the constables of the division and interrogate individuals as well. Detective Constables are the lowest rank within the division, but previously were in the main sector of KPD before entering the detective sector. [POLICE/MAIN SECTOR] Captains oversee and entire division, ensuring everything runs smoothly and that all officers follow procedures correctly. They make high level decisions and coordinate. Lieutenant pretty much acts as a second in command underneath the captain. They are to handle administrative tasks, review reports, and supervise Sergeants. Sergeants supervise and mentor a group of officers, ensuring that assignments are completed correctly in an efficient manner. They also play a key role in field leadership. Corporal Officers serve as an experienced officer who are to assist Sergeants in training and guiding patrol officers, often taking on leadership roles depending on the task. Patrol Officers are responsible for general law enforcement duties such as patrolling areas, responding to calls, and enforcing the law. Cadets are trainees learning the fundamentals of police work, preparing to become a full officer through both classroom and field experience. 10-20, 10-19, 10-12, 10-8, 10-4, 10-16, and the CODE 0!!

Why is Police important to SchoolRP?:
They are important to keep a balance within the SRP society both OOCLY/ICLY to ensure crime role-players don't constantly run around the map attempting to target new/non-interested players. While maintaining a realistic ICLY presence as crime shouldn't be as openly expressed in public without the fear of being eventually caught. This creates a type of tension where both sides of roleplay are heavily rewarded based off their actions. For example, once if a criminal were to barely escape the grasps of a KPD, it creates a great type of tension within roleplay that is forever memorable. On the other hand, this'd apply for KPD as well whenever you walk forward toward a high-stakes situation while out-numbered.
To summarize what my personal beliefs were to why KPD is an ASSET and of IMPORTANCE to SchoolRP. It's an important faction which teaches players the consequences and rewards through the experience of you avoiding or being caught by KPD in any type of scenario. Creating an exciting and terrifying scenario for both sides to truly enjoy roleplaying and putting their characters through something so memorable. Finally, the most important reason would be the fact of KPD's presence keeping things realistic within the city and isn't always a public purge but instead a society watched over by trained individuals.
Do you acknowledge that if training is held whilst you are online, you are needed to attend or you will be punished?:
Yes, I understand that if I am online and do not attend when necessary, I will be rightfully punished.

What's your character's full name?:
"My full legal name is Lylia Komaeda," while providing the required documents from Korea and an ID from Karakura. Her expression smiling as warm as the photo provided, but of course aging quite a bit since it was last taken. A younger version of herself could've been seen when she received it in college.
How old is your character (if accepted)?:
"As of this year.. I had recently turned twenty-nine years old this year, haha.." while she gently twirled her hair which showed her realization she was growing much older. She kept the same straight posture, but of course seem a bit flustered as the words had exited her mouth.
What are your character's gender and pronouns?:
"I'd prefer if you had referred to me as she/her and I am a female," with her hands gently resting onto the table. Her expression seemed to recuperate from her earlier blushed phase, but neither did it seem out of line. It was moreover just from initial surprise of her aging years. Although, she's still young for justice!
Please select your highest academic role at the time of writing this application:
(Grade-12/Bachelors/Masters/PhD):
"I've taken Co-op for Field & Policing Programs," showing photos from her young adolescence along-side many graduates at the time of the same program. They stood uniformed in a line and she smiled at the photo reminiscing in the past.
[Grade-12]
What languages does your character know besides Japanese?:
"Other than Japanese, I would be able to speak fluently in Korean," while she confidently expressed her capability in speaking Korean. While giving off a few words she stopped realizing the interviewer already got the point. Gently nodding her head as an apology. (Applying For Korean!)
Describe your character; how they look, what makes them unique?:
Lylia has long-scarlet red hair which reaches just about her elbows, but sometimes keeps them into a tight-bun to ensure they don't interfere with work. Her hair could also be described as soft yet with a silky texture from how much she uses 10 different conditioners. Her face has a soft and yet demeaning glare which shows her seriousness. Although, while she often softens up she could be seen with a gentle smile. Her skin tone was to comparison of a light-brown tan from her time spent being outside at the beach all the time. A singular mole could also be seen on her cheek which leaves an impression on her smirky grins. Finally, she kept a lollypop on her at all times which symbolized her wild side was still somewhere in there. |
How does your character act in a professional/casual situation?:
"My duty remains the same whether I am professional nor casual. A standard is required for a city to stay in place."
Lylia in a scenario would realistically be the most concentrated and yet tensed within a briefing shortly after a large incident. While I keep my character to reacting with the most realism as an individual, I'd take into consideration that she was still the best of the best to professionally be put into this field of work. In an example of a scenario, while she strives for the betterment of the city, she is rather more keen on supporting citizens through means outside of just searching criminals. Of course it doesn't mean she doesn't look for criminals as she intends to bring justice; Lylia would take the initiative to be the shield of her partner on patrols. The second pair of eyes as she knows the line of duty of protecting the city isn't just a title given to those who study the law. It's a title given to those who are ready to face the danger which harms the citizens within the city even if it meant putting her life on the line.
On casual notes, it'd be recorded that Lylia would be more of a relaxed and friendly individual with her co-workers and members of the society as a whole. She had lived in a hectic and of course healthy family where socializing had became a skill she trained on the daily basis. While she may seem relaxed or even making a small joke, it's rather important she keeps her presence proper in a way where it doesn't create a fool out of herself as a working officer. As previously mentioned in her words before, it'd be evident that she has a fine line between having fun or if you're just making a fool out of your own image.
What is their outlook on the idea of co-workers & teamwork?:
"I think they're very experienced.. and really look forward to working with them! I'll be by your hands and do my best!"
Lylia is as enthusiastic as she seems on pen and paper, but while reiterating she maintains a professional profile for the image of work. She expresses her joy openly with working in a field of crime with investigators who work for the greater good. It became her true passion during her co-op of policing and seeing them patrolling around Karakura had genuinely started her road to becoming a police officer. While she respects and looks up to the KPD; she would always ensure she works towards the best of her abilities. She knew that it only takes one inspiring individual to spark the rest of the teams morale whether it be in a team or a company as a whole. Therefore, teamwork and co-workers are her steps to ensuring that KPD will always be alive in the hearts of people and the city itself.

Can you legally own a pocket knife in Karakura?:
"No, you cannot legally own a pocket knife within Karakura! As of in general, you cannot own any sharp weapon which can cause deadly harm to an individual. It is still inevitable that when you are caught with any of them, it will lead to a charge of 'Possession of Illegal Weaponry' and quickly label you as a felon!" While providing a few examples below of large to short sharp that are existing within the city, it'd vary as she mentioned they are all capable of killing/knocking-out an opponent in one successful move yet their various design differences/mechanics:
Larger 'Deadly Weaponry:' Naginata, Katana, Fireaxes, Spiked Bat | Smaller 'Deadly Weaponry:' Sai, Tactical Knife, Pocket Knife, Spiked Glove
Name 5 medical items that do NOT require a prescription
"While looking through the list of items that do NOT require a prescription in EMS, I've found these five.. as there are many more within the category which don't require a prescription, but found these to be the most evident at first thought."

What's your character's backstory?:
[THE ORIGINS]
Lylia Komaeda was born into the Keta Branch of the Komaeda Family. A line known throughout the small part of Karakura for their fiery temperaments, passionate hearts, and emotional honesty. While other branches sought perfection and reputation, the Keta were known for their spontaneity and creative chaos. Her mother worked at the local community pool, and her father held a job as a dockside security guard. Together, they taught Lylia that strength didn't come from authority, but rather the passion of the individual.
Growing up in the bustling, seaside houses of Karakura, Lylia was the kind of child who couldn't bear to sit still. She was often.. curious and protective of others and noted to be the first to jump into an argument to defend a friend. She could even be described as magnetic and her hair was really messy with salt-soaked from the beach. Lylia would always return home with sand struck between her fingers and all over her toys which she dragged across the floor. Lylia was fearless and a bit.. reckless while climbing rocks, rescuing stranded toys, and stopping random arguments between strangers. Although, she had a pure intent. It was the intent of caring about the how she cared for people in her own unique way.
The other Komaeda's often called her "the calm within the storm," though she didn't always believe it.. because I mean it's her brothers always joking around. She had a loud laugh, a strong sense of right/wrong, and surprisingly a heart too big to fit into a quiet life.
[ADOLENSCENCE]
As Lylia entered her teenage years, she began to see how her family's passionate nature could be both a gift and a burden. Some relatives use their emotions to inspire others - while others let them spiral into conflict or overall pride. Lylia promised herself that she would be the king of person who could 'control the storm, not be consumed by it.' Otherwise, she just had enough of being assumed she was just like the rest of her family and standardized to be the same.
At fifteen, her father was injured while protecting a colleague during a workplace incident. He came home with a bandaged arm, but his calm words left a remark she could never forget: "You always talk about a storm.. Lylia. It's true that they can destroy, but it can also clear the skies for others.." while she always detested him for being JUST a security guard: ".. Choose what kind of storm you'll be," were words which widened her eyes.
From then on, Lylia learned to slow down, to observe before acting, and to think before speaking. She joined smaller school safety committees and volunteered at local clean-up drives, realizing that helping people didn't always mean fighting but even.. just listening.
[EARLY ADULTHOOD]
After graduating from high-school, Lylia enrolled in a Co-op Field & Policing Program through an academy which was outside of Karakura. The Co-op was designed to train future civil servants in community engagement, safety management, and teamwork under stress. Lylia thrived in this environment. Her natural energy made her a strong communicator, and her empathy allowed her to connect easily with the 'new' public. Whether it was assisting during a festival, helping to guide tourists who didn't speak the same language, or managing crowd safety, she was always ready to step in where she was needed.
Her instructors described her as "emotionally intelligent, patient, and deeply committed to others' well-being." Though she still carried the Keta fire within her, she had learned to direct it with intention. It was a rare trait in someone from her lineage, but she was proud. Very proud.
[ADULTHOOD]
Now twenty-nine, Lylia Komaeda stands as a symbol of what the Keta Branch could be at its best: passionate, but disciplined, expressive, and yet empathetic. She keeps her signature scarlet hair neatly tied whenever she is on duty. Her confident smile welcoming all those who approach her. For Lylia, joining the Karakura Police Department isn't about control of recognition. It's about protection, understanding, and service. She believes peace is built by those who care enough to listen, and she's determined to make Karakura a place where everyone can feel safe.
Her storm still exists and specifically the one her father told her to think about. The type of storm; being the one to clear the skies for others. She found her purpose but truthfully.. She is a bit worried to step forward towards justice, but the fear means she is all the more ready.

If you see your co-workers physically abusing an inmate, what should you do?
[OOCLY]: If Lylia were to see an inmate being abused with full-certainty that it isn't a mistake whatsoever, she would immediately ensure her body camera is on prior to keep the evidence substantial. While on the other hand, she would reach for her radio on another channel and begin informing fellow officers about the occurring situation for back-up. While awaiting back-up she would approach the inmate and attempt to stop the altercation for the inmate to be checked up on by EMS. While he eventually would leave the abused inmate to be taken care of by officials; Lylia would create a report immediately to the higher-up and ensure her recording was still safe from the very beginning to the end. Clearly showing the situation and giving an easier verdict for what the punishment should be overall.
[ICLY]: "I would like to imagine that I would never see.. such a thing but of course I would take things into action immediately. My first course of action would be to turn on my body camera and ensure it captures a clear sight of the on-going altercation. While I radio for fellow officers to deal with the situation, it'd also be important that my co-worker wouldn't be too emotional to try anything on me too. Finally, while ensuring the safety of the inmate is essential, I would also begin creating a report to a higher-up to let them create a proper verdict using my evidence."
What should you do if you see your co-worker being assaulted?
[ON-DUTY]: Lylia would immediately begin to radio for back-up as truthfully the sight might shock her for a bit but immediately spring into action as she would taze/neutralize the individual assaulting the officer. Although, if there are more than one individual involved in the situation, it'd be best to continue radioing for more back-up to ensure Lylia wouldn't be added onto the list of victims which can threaten the overall operation. If the assault had already occurred; Lylia would ensure to check for any wounds or life-threatening injuries and bring them to the hospital without a moments notice.
[OFF-DUTY]: Lylia would immediately contact fellow officers using her radio while keeping a safe distance considering she has none of her important gear. While ensuring to keep details on their exact number, location and type of weaponry/force they're inflicting to show the severity of the situation. While Lylia can confirm or ensure back-up is arriving or if they opposite party is leaving; she'd make it her priority to immediately rush to the hospital to keep the officer from succumbing to their injuries.
What do you do if you find out that your co-worker is corrupt and is helping criminal organizations?
[OOCLY]: Whether or not Lylia had found out through chance or by through investigation she would immediately report to a higher-up for them to create their own verdict. She would keep a distance and ensure she is documenting or recording every step along the way so that it isn't proof which can easily be dismissed. A much more safer attempt in catching their corruption rather than abruptly calling them out one day which could make them cover their tracks. While she believed the best time to catch someone red-handed is when they believe they are safest the most. Therefore, while informing those who will conduct a proper investigation, she knows it's better than giving the corrupted officer a chance to hide their own tracks from the rest of the department.
[ICLY]: "I wouldn't know what to say.. I'd first start off by if it hadn't been found out by surprise I would have reported it right away. That type of thing isn't something I truthfully should handle by myself. It's better to have someone more experienced and knowledgeable in the field to deal with.. an insider. Otherwise, if I had caught it by surprise I would at least do the liberty of recording and documenting every moment of it without getting caught. Keeping a distance and then showing it to a higher ranking officer for them to make their judgement."
How would you react to a criminal trying to bribe you?
[OOCLY]: Lylia would begin to frown awkwardly because it's something she would never morally accept. Lylia would decline immediately. The amount of honor she is given to work a job such as KPD or even within the governing Karakura would be considered priceless. In the end, she would lean them off with a warning but if they attempt it again then she will charge them with bribery.
[ICLY]: ".. It's a great question to ask but it's genuinely.. my apologizes, but it's just a unappealing. While I feel proud standing in this very room applying to possibly become an officer.
