"Start picking up scraps from the floor, but be sure to wash your hands after. There's germs everywhere. Thaaaanks!" - U.K.

What is your name?
“My name is Usagi Kōki.”

What is your age and grade?
“I’m eighteen and in the twelfth grade.”

What is your motivation to lead a club within the school?
Since enrolling in this high school, I’ve put my time into numerous things. I’ve been on the volleyball team and was even a cheerleader for some time. You could say I’ve met all kinds of people, but the reality is that I never knew them. I never cared to learn what they like to do. I only saw them for the sport they played, but what I couldn’t see was that there’s more to what makes them who they are as a person, like the things they love doing beyond their athletics, and the same goes for people outside of a team. I’ve joined the gardening club in some activities, mainly because I’m friends with the glowstick who’s running it, so I do have a growing understanding of what the club environment brings to this school. That being said, the differences in one aspect of the school versus the other is quite distinct in my eye. They’re both passionate, that's for sure- one side is athletically driven and the other is.. well, how do you put it? Motivated solely by your hobby? I mean, don’t get me wrong. Your sport can be your hobby too, take a look at the sport’s club. But speaking as someone who gave - pardon me - had no time for my personal interests, I found a sense of community with my participation in a club like gardening. Actually, I wasn’t even a member, but I was having fun. I was having fun doing something that I like to do. That’s what it’s all about, right? And I thought: maybe my interests can carry that feeling to someone else as well. It’s not that no one’s joining clubs ‘cause.. you know.. loss of interest in the community. I believe they just haven’t found their place yet. I can create a place for certain individuals among the student body and make them feel like they belong somewhere. Scrapbooking is all about the preservation of memories, but it's also an outlet for those who need to flip to a blank page and make something special out of it.

Why choose you over other candidates applying for this position?
"The people KNOW me! I've made a name for myself out here, don't you know? If they found out that THE Usagi Kōki is having her very own scrapbooking club, you're going to have to board the doors up, the way people will be charging in is NO joke! Let's see.. I'm very big on communication, and a lot of people will tell you that .. probably. Though, I talk to others about a lot of things, from their fashion sense down to their common sense.. SOOO in other words, I'm an open book! Should there be any questions or concerns, I will respond adequately and listen to the best of my ability. In my opinion, you can't find another me, and if you do, you've found a fraud. Hah."

"Alice. What if I liiikkeee... had my own club?" - U.K.

What is the official title of your club?
Scrapbook Club

Provide a small summary of your club

Scrapbooking is the comforting art of collecting trinkets and images in a personalized album, whether that be created physically or digitally. It's to save memories from the past in a way that feels creative, like your very own keepsake. By putting these pieces together, we can revisit important moments in the present and reflect, all while continuing to add new experiences in the future. It's simply a hobby that can be enjoyed by yourself, or with others.

Please gather five student members for your club and list their character names and usernames
  • Esmée Akai | Lectus
  • Alice Brown | art__class
  • Dino Gálvez | scoobchu_
  • Nabi Yoon | buyumis
  • Leyana Kingston | bheom
  • Sierra Blaire | aloeveraa1
  • San Thorne | lovecvts
  • Urumi Akihito | aslaniy
  • Kiyohime Kagami | cheesebrat
  • Sachi Hoga | Suaytai

Do you have a student councillor to supervise and assist your club?

N/A. I do not have a councillor to supervise my club.

Will there be any requirements of future members to join your club?
  • Attend two meetings per OOC month.
  • Must be Grade-10 or above to apply.
  • Have access to simple editing applications (e.g. Canva, Picsart, any web/apps that allows you to edit photos together) < There are a lot of options out there that are offered for free!
  • A basic understanding of RP. While detail is greatly appreciated, it is also not dire:)

Provide one school-wide event that your club may host

Renewed Love
"Don't tell me you're BUYING her a card.."
A dreamy Valentine's tradition, cards exchanged with people every year, but this time handmade with the love you put in it. Scrapbook Club will have a station somewhere within school grounds, embracing the holiday by leaving materials, supplies, and a selection of blank, colorful cards scattered out on a table. Students are free to make themselves or someone else a card, and other members of the club are encouraged to hand out kind messages written on slips to people on this day. What's better than a store bought card to gift to your loved ones? A custom made one, duh! That's what Kōki believes, at least.
note; this would also be cute for either Christmas or New years, only the concept would shift. (Secret Santa / D.I.Y Omamori)
I also thought it'd be cool to include the councillors if they wish to participate.

Provide one flash event that your club may host
Recycling Workshop
"What. Are. You. DOING!! Don't throw that away!? We could use it!"

Most people are aware that cleanliness is considered a virtue in Japan. Littering is extremely uncommon, and it is important that people are taught the responsibility of properly disposing of their trash. However, some of this "trash" can likely be reused in crafts like scrapbooking. The idea is that there will be a booth (or few) around the school for students and staff to donate scraps or recycled materials (like old magazines, fabric, cardboard, ribbons, buttons, bottle caps, etc. Anything you could possibly think of, really) for the club's use. Members of the club may go around and search the building for any fun, extra scraps as well. Ultimately, the goal is to repurpose these materials all while still advocating for the health of our planet!

Provide one club activity that your club might host
Interviews!
"I'm helping you enhance your social skills! Aren't I the best?"
A text flashes on your screen. The notification reads from Usagi Kōki ;
➤ "HEELLOO. Meet up RN!! Bring ur books and stuff. I want to do something cool. I have our materials unless u wanna bring your own. K, bye."
Whether you like putting yourself out there or not, this activity gives you all the more reason to fill up a page in your scrapbook! Want to make more friends or find motivation for your next creation? Or.. do you just want to bug your current friends? That's fine too! Club members will have to interview at least one student in the school in order for them to complete their 'scrap assignment'. The following questions should be asked: what is your name, your favorite color, what things do you like to do? What motivates you? Remember that this is a spread inspired by them, so adding the things they like or whatever you find remarkable about them is ideal. Once complete, members will meet together in the clubroom again to build their pages then share their finished products, discuss what they enjoyed about the project or what they might've disliked, and talk about what they learned from it, or if they think they captured the person accurately. After that, it's up to them if they'd like to gift the page or hold onto the memory.

ADDITIONAL IDEAS
Weekly Themes
  • OOC; A theme of some sort will be tasked every week to maintain and track activity.
"Hear me out! I'll assign a theme of the week for our scrapbook assignments. For example, let's say this week's theme issss... superheroes! Everyone will have the week to create a spread inspired by someone they admire as a hero, or they can be literal about it if they want to make their pages inspired by Spiderman or something. Anyway.. I would like to have these themes in place so people can have a starting point for their next spread. They're always welcome to fill more than they need, but these themes will also help me track how engaged everyone is with the club."
Show & Tell
  • OOC; A roleplay based bonding activity where members present their work.
"I used to love this activity as a kid and it's probably because it gave me justified bragging rights, but it's a little different in this sense. There will be a day out of the month where we sit down and share one or some of the stories behind the pages in our books. I might've said this enough times but scrapbooking is all about documenting your memories and holding onto your mementos, so I do think it's important for people to have the chance to share those. Plussss.. maybe we'll likeee... bond over these stories!!"
Guess Who?
  • OOC; A game that is meant to include scrapbooking & roleplay. Members will create a spread (or a single page) and send them over to me via Discord DMS. They'll roll a number out of the total of attendees, and using that, I'll send them the corresponding page. After that, they make their guess on who they think made it!
"This is more of a game. I don't want to waste pages in anyone's books.. so for this one I'll probably hand out some smaller poster boards. Members will make a page under a certain time limit (scary, I know) and at the end of the timer, I'll collect the boards from each person in the room. I'll shuffle them around, then display them on a table for the members to make their guesses on who they think created which. After everyone has taken one up and made their guess, I'll reveal the correct answers and the best assumptions after three rounds will win a prize of.... well. We'll figure that out later!"
Mystery / Clue has the potential to include other clubs too! "Clue" is a very collaborative game.
  • OOC; Another roleplay based game, inspired by the OOC game, "Clue"
"Oh my gosh! 'Kay, pretend I've gone missing but the only thing I've left behind is my scrapbook- which is, in fact, ALSO missing. To find out the reason for my disappearance, the members will have to work together and use the hints I leave around the room to help them find my missing book. Don't worry, I'll make this SOOO easy!"

POTENTIAL COLLABORATIONS
FT. GARDENING CLUB
FT. JOURNALISM
FT. PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB
FT. FASHION CLUB
  • Can teach them how to press flowers / plants
  • Can show how to implement them into their own pages
  • Create spreads inspired by news they've covered before (like event recaps but on paper!)
  • Create a gallery of photos on a poster board and decorate it together using scrapbook elements
  • Show them how to make vision boards and teach them how using that form of art can help put ideas together for their own designs (assuming they tailor)
