BACKSTORY:
The Start of Her Life:
Mercella Ambrose was born in Takayama Japan in 2005. It was her, her mother, and her father. Life was quiet and she didn't have many friends but that didn't stop her from having the time of her life. Her family owned a farm not too far from their home and that is where Mercella liked to spend most of her time. While her parents worked, she played with the animals, chasing the chickens, feeding the cows, and petting the pigs. She was happy. Later on, in her life she got into painting, it started with painting small family portraits to large sceneries that really resonated with her. She'd show her dad all of her paintings and with every single one he liked; he would take her out to the local bakery to get her a sweet treat (which was often.) Mercella then grew out of the farm and instead spent time in her front yard or in her room doing arts and crafts with her mother.
New Family Recruits:
At the age of eight, Mercella was called down from her room to be greeted by two girls who were about her age, just a tad bit younger. These two girls were named Nora and Natasha, and they soon became her adoptive sisters. Nora and Natasha didn't know anything related to Japan or its language, they were completely left in the dark, and this became a heavy problem for the family. Mercella, wanting to make them feel as welcomed as possible, secretly started to learn their native tongue which was Russian. She spent her time in her room or in the libraries trying to learn off of books and various resources. To interact with her sisters from time to time, she'd ask them to teach her some phrases and in return she would teach them Japanese. The three girls became very close friends and sisters, spending almost all of their time together.
The Move:
When Mercella was thirteen, her family became bankrupt. In other words, her father lost his job, and they were now in debt. This was a huge problem for Mercella and her family due to the fact that the parents had to keep all three of their kids fed. It was a hard decision, but her parents decided it would be a good idea to just send Mercella, Nora, and Natasha, all to Karakura, Japan to live with their aunt. It was an emotional mess, Mercella didn't want to leave her parents as well as the comforting place she called home, but that was her only choice. And so, they moved, living with their aunt in Karakura.
Life in Karakura (Relations, Experience):
Things in Karakura were very different than they were in Takayama. It was busier, more eventful, and had a handful of things to explore around the city. On Mercella's first day of school, she decided it would be good for her to attach herself to a friend group and stay with that friend group to survive. She introduced herself to the first person Natasha had pointed out, and the group slowly began to grow throughout the day. Mercella and her new friends, which were also new to the island, all went out to look around the city. The new faces, new experiences, and exotic places just made her stay better. This was the first time she made friends that wasn't anyone in her family. Soon, Mercella became carefree, rebelious even. She visited dangerous places, got herself into questionable situations and basically did everything a normal person would not do. After a while, she met some new people. Ivy became her best friend, and they were quite literally inseparable. They did everything together, finding every opportunity to cure their boredom. Her favorite places to visit were the Shrine and Occult Club room. She only started to like these places because Ivy loved them or visited them frequently. Time moved on, she was quickly introduced to Kagura, and various others. She even ended up finding her own boyfriend, but that story is too complicated.
The Ambrose Name:
At the age of eighteen, Mercella's father went missing. She found out one month after his disappearance because her own mother refused to tell her. Once she found out, she started to fund the search in hopes they could find him. But to no avail, after another month of searching, he was presumed dead and they gave up on the search. This broke Mercella's heart, she lost one of the few people that was close to her, she loved her father dearly and even considered going back to Takayama to search for him but didn't. Instead, she tried to avoid it, doing anything she can that could possibly get her mind off of it. Most of the time, it would just be hanging out with her friends. After a while, her mother gave her the news that she found someone new and soon took the last name "Ambrose." Mercella Ambrose. At first, Mercella didn't accept this decision because she thought her mom gave up on her dad. It took a very long time for her to get used to it but once she was face to face with her new older brother, her view changed. She accepted the family with open arms like they did with her. Nora and Natasha moved back to Takayama with their mother, Mercella and Mason stayed in Karakura. Mason was very protective over Mercella, he was with her a lot and through quite a bit. He was there when she made good and horrible decisions, there through her relationship and her breakup. They were doing great, but one faithful morning they had their first agreement and started arguing over something that they could've resolved if they just talked to each other. Mercella said some awful things to Mason, things that she should've never said to him. They went without talking for a few days and after a bit, she had to deal with his death. He was murdered, a desperate phone call from Ivy and soon a phone call to the police was both made the same day. Immediate regret planted in her heart and to this day she still looks back and wishes things could've been different. She holds the Ambrose name with pride in honor of her brother but still questions if she was really worthy of it.
Now:
Mercella is now in college, going through a shit ton of emotions. her friend group has shrunk, and she trust very little people now, but that doesn't stop her from trying. She is determined to get by and wishes things could change. Her best friend still there like she never left.
