What's your suggestion?:
We're all aware that houses are a hot commodity (even though one could argue they shouldn't be).

Currently there are 11 shared houses in the Motowa district. Over the past few weeks I've kept an eye on them and have found they are not regularly used/rented. An easy way to relieve the housing market could be to transform about 7/8 out of the shared houses into regular rentable houses.

Edit: Realistically speaking even 9 out of 11 could be done and still provide enough capacity.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
This would still keep a significant amount of rentable houses for those who wish to share/use these places but it would also (relatively easily?) open up some more houses for families and such.

+1 Newer players tend to favour the dorms; and share houses are small, so when they do rack up enough money, they move to the 25k apartments, which the majority of the time I believe have more room. Keeping a reasonable amount of them is a good idea, but expanding the housing market is a nice addition too, considering they aren't used and take up space.

I don't often see people go for the shared houses. Additionally the Complex G next to the KPD building offer apartments that are 15k-30k and they provide more space and makes your money worth. On top of being relatively assessable.

Shared houses are fine, BUT, in my opinion, what makes them suck is the fact that the rest of the actual house can't be editted and it's just the small lil baby rooms... like no, no thank you. Not a fan.

Provisional +1 to giving at least one of the 'homeowners' the ability to 'own' the rest of the property and edit it, while NOT being able to edit the individual rooms, so it does still have that unique aspect of being a 'shared space'.

This would be better than the current situation in my opinion, as the current situation is such space (i.e. the halls, kitchen, rest of the house) goes unused. I suppose the doors to the property would have to be forever 'openable', though, as we wouldn't want one person just preventing the other 'homeowners' from even being able to get inside. It does sound, on reflection, a bit awkward and difficult to implement, but I'm sure through the magic of creating a server rule to prohibit that ... it'd be fine. Probably. Maybe.

I do agree with the overall point being made that barely anyone is using these properties because of superior options.

Shared houses sounded good in theory- with a common space, there are roleplay opportunities to be had with unlikely characters being able to interact with each other. But in practice, it was just never utilized to its full extent. The tiny rooms barely make it enticing when there's just better options elsewhere, and you hardly see anyone using the common spaces to strike up a conversation

If anything, it's more worth it to just purchase a bigger apartment and get roommates to live with you and it would serve the same purpose- having a common space for roleplaying opportunities with a living room and kitchen, while the characters still get to have their own room

Living in Block L myself, I managed to squeeze in two bedrooms for two characters to live in, one of which brings over his partner daily who may as well live there now- so there is at least 2 people in the same space daily (taking account of in-character behavior and routine). Are the bedrooms tiny? Absolutely, but it is possible and I still have creative liberties to design the rest of the house as I please

The same argument I gave when discussing beach houses. Demand is (almost) nonexistent (I actually bought a place for a small illegal business lol). But yeah, not much use, not a lot of people interested (not even the greenies), and there are far better options for new players, even if they have to wait for a while.

But on the other side..... I don't really want to replace them with rentable houses. Maybe with something else...

Something else you say? You know those large houses with driveways? There are two, and if we get more of those, that would be pretty cool :)

The 'Big Houses', yeah. They could be a good addition to the place. Doesn't seem to disturb the residential area. Plus it's on a great place!
