What is your motivation to apply for reporter?
My motivation for Reporter is to contribute to the ever-thriving source of news in the server ICly & OOCly. Additionally, this gives me a chance to
Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?
I am currently planning to minor in Language Arts alongside Architecture. I have always loved writing & storytelling as far as I can remember being in Language Arts.
Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you? I do.
Why should we accept you over others?
My stories are not only engaging & brief yet detailed, they come out fast. I can write an entire 5 paragraph essay within only 2 hours, 4 hours tops. I also really like making engaging interviews written as scripts, rather than just an article paragraph with a few quotes. Narrative is a driving point in journalism; both in reality and even somewhere like Karakura. Another reason is that activity is a very driving factor in choosing applicants. Being active is a must in any faction — I could list the faction with the most activity issues, but that's not the point. The main point is that activity equates to effort which equates to narrative. You cannot be inactive while pumping out stories if you can't get on to do anything. It doesn't make sense.
Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
Bias is one of the most harmful parts of writing — it will most definitely stay out of any writing I do.
Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?
I can entrust in myself that quota will be complete, so long I find incidents to report about.
Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is
Work as a reporter isn't just gossip, it's getting the word out. Nobody can sit down and write about something that happened to a rather unlucky person; details are needed for every story. Imagining a book without descriptions is just as boring as writing about a car crash with nothing other than just "a car crash happened in the Streets of Shotengai." Reporting news needs to be brief yet detailed; straightforward yet informative.

What are your expectations for the job?
"Writing isn't the most fun part of reporting, it's photos! A report needs a story alongside a photo, perhaps even a video if it's an article online. With that, photos might even tell more of a story than a page ever will, but it's fundamental for even the simplest of writers, let alone reproters."

#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.
With the rise of criminal organizations & syndicates, knowns generally as gangs or crime families, the latter being rarer to find, crime rates & police reports regarding criminal groups like these have spiked in the last few years. These gangs usually possess dangerous weaponry, simpler of the sort from baseball bats to the fabled naginata. Exactly how do these criminal organizations form? How do they gain more members and make some sort of legacy as they go on?
Looking from sources like The Infographics Show, they bring up that "gangs gives [an] identity." Losing an identity is hard, and this is most likely why gangs form and gain members. Another is control. Everyone wants to be the most powerful or high ranking — human nature, it'll be that way forever. Gangs are formed of multiple people, and becoming a major defending or offensive sort of entity, most of these grow into strong and sometimes infamous organizations like the Akihito Clan or the late Masahiko Clan, both being a part of the Yakuza.
#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.
[A click, soft static following for a moment before the audio cleared up.]
LADY CARMEN"Good evening. I am Aurora Jimenez Stark, here with Luca Iglesias, rumored to be one of the many well-known organization bosses from Los Santos."
[A brief silence, a ruffling of a few papers as footsteps as a soft tapping noise was heard.]
LADY CARMEN
"Tell me, Señor Iglesias, what is it like being part of organizations such as yours?"
[Luca shifting in his seat, speaking with a soft, gravely voice, like sand.]
LONE SHARK
"Nothing too. . . extraneous. Little meddling here and there, but it gets the job done."
LADY CARMEN
"I see. Is your line of work complex for ordinary people?"
[A barely audible chuckle for a moment, then a slight wiping of what sounded to be a cloth.]
LONE SHARK
"Nobody, and I mean nobody, can't handle work that's complex. If you don't get it the first time, there's a few other hundred times for you to get it."
LADY CARMEN
"And if they can't make it work?"
LONE SHARK
"They get cut."
[A soft cough from Aurora.]
LADY CARMEN
"Well, that's rather blunt, I'd say-"
LONE SHARK
"Work needs to be like that, Señora Jimenez. I wouldn't be here if you didn't ask for an interview outright, would I?"
[Another brief silence, then a single 'mhm' raising from Aurora.]
LONE SHARK
"Sorry for the, ehm. . . exaggerated nature, I get impatient with people sometimes."
LADY CARMEN
"That's perfectly fine, Luca. May I ask, is it difficult working nearly alone?"
LONE SHARK
"Hm. . . not too much. I still have my sources when I need, but I like to do my tasks, preferably, alone."
LADY CARMEN
"Well, how do you find workarounds with tasks that usually need a team?"
LONE SHARK
"Nothing impossible can't be done alone. How do you think I've gone so long with my work without interruption?"
LADY CARMEN
"That is a very good point, Luca. I see you don't like to make conversation a lot — no offense. Is there a reason why?"
LONE SHARK
"Nothing to say if you don't have anything."
LADY CARMEN
"Well I'd say you're doing very well, for nothing to say."
LONE SHARK
"You simply ask the questions — all I have to do is answer."
LADY CARMEN
"On the topic of sources, what kind of people do you like working within your business?"
LONE SHARK
"Nobody with funny business. Someone that can get the job done fast and efficiently. Someone that knows what they're doing and is competent."
LADY CARMEN
"Well, that's a very strict policy for people. Tell me, do you think I'd be fit to work in such an organization?"
LONE SHARK
"You've got that look in your eye. You want a yes."
LADY CARMEN
"Not exactly, that's just my nosy face, sir."
LONE SHARK
"You could use some work, señorita."
[A brief conversation in Spanish before switching back to Japanese for the recording.]
LADY CARMEN
"How many connections have you made since arriving here in Karakura? Have you found any organizations you would like to be in partnerships with?"
LONE SHARK
"I've made a few — some in businesses, some plain as working in a produce market. As for organizations, not that many. Perhaps one, but I fear they're already head-started on missions I don't know about."
LADY CARMEN
"Right, thank you for your time. Before you go, since I know you have many names you go by in market industries, I would like to ask, what do they call you?
You must have some sort of professional name, no?"
LONE SHARK
"Lone Shark."
LADY CARMEN
"Loan Shark?"
LONE SHARK
"No. Lone Shark. Like Lone Road."
LADY CARMEN
"Interesting. Well, thank you for your time, Lone Shark."
[Indistinct whispers before the recording faded away, only a mist being left from the cartridge it came from.]
