Do you have Discord? If so, what is your username?:
ewenora

List your timezone and country:
CET, Sweden

Describe your activity:
I usually am online at least 4 days a week, it's rare for me to be inactive for more than 4 days. Although with my studies, it can sometimes be hard for me to balance both studies and SRP, considering the fact timezones exist and I have a tendency to ruin my sleep schedule. While I'm studying, I try to be online at least twice a week.

Link any significant applications (e.g., Roles/Teams, exclude languages):
Nurse application

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
Well first off, I have an interest for writing and I have a tendency to fall into rabbit holes about many topics, one of them being news that spread around the world.
Secondly, my character also has a thing for writing, so I just think she would fit the reporter role.

Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
As mentioned, I have an interest of writing, and that varies between simple short stories, detailed stories or digging deeper into subjects - such as detailed reports.

Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
I am aware of the rules and I will make sure to follow them, OOCly and ICly.

Why should we accept you over others?:
I'm not one to steal the spotlight from others, but as mentioned I am pretty active and will try my best to stay active for at least 4 days a week if my application gets accepted.

Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
I am fully aware and understand the rule of being neutral in a report, I will make sure not to show any OOC or IC bias in them.

Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
As of now, I find my life stable enough to the point where I trust I can fulfill the activity that is required.

Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
The work of a reporter, from how I understand it, is writing reports about new thing occuring, such as trouble in the Karakura community or like new buildings being built in the city. But it doesn't always have to be about news, it could also be about asking people's opinions on a situation, digging deeper into it, or even writing a report about the weather.

IC (In-Character) Information:
Treat this section like it is your own character answering it

Full Name:

The female would cross one leg over the other before carefully smoothing out her skirt, "Mackenzie Cloud."

Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)
"I prefer being titled Miss, unless I know the individual personally."

Current Age (25+):
"I turned 26 this June."

Past job/work experience:
The female would purse her lips, as if thinking for a moment before she spoke; "I have no work experience in Karakura, but I used to work as a librarian in London, where I also used to write books as a hobby - not to mention the audio books I published online, it was sort of like a podcast I had where I interviewed people about certain topics."

Degree/qualifications:
"Master's degree in journalism."

Nationality and born location:
Mackenzie couldn't help the small smile of pride tugging at her lips as she responded; "I'm British, born and raised in London."

Phone Number: 030-
"358-7300"

How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
Mackenzie's brows furrowed thoughtfully as she spoke, "Well, my friends often describe me as an outgoing person with a leadership potential. I personally wouldn't say I'm a born leader, but I'm aware that I get things done rather quickly when I know they have to be. I wouldn't exactly say I'm social butterfly, but I'm also not an introvert - I enjoy talking to people who think the same as I do, or with people who can help broad my mind for other ideas."

What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
Her expression softened once more at the question a soft smile even tugging at her lips, "I myself have an interest in digging deeper into subjects, such as the history of our species, but other species as well! I enjoy a challenge every now and then, but things inside my comfort zone would most likely be about history, literature, scandals and trends. As said, I enjoy a challenge and I have nothing against going outside my comfort zone if that is needed."

What are your expectations for the job?:
Her brows furrowed once more as she thought about what to say, before finally responding; "My expectations? I don't know exactly what you mean by that, but I suppose I expect that we'll be working as a team to make the best of our time on the job, and then deal individually with our own reports."

Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:
She couldn't help the soft huff of amusement escaping her nose at the question and she shook her head softly, taking a sip of her water, "I'm trying to stay out of such business, I don't have the interest nor the personality for it."

Fluent Languages (Underline your native):
"English and Japanese."

PROMPTS:
You will have to write two reports about a topic of your choice. Here we can see how pronounced your writing is and how creative you are. Use your own formatting and your own report idea. (If you're found plagiarizing an actual report or another applicant, you will be denied.)

#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.

Mackenzie would search through her bag carefully before pulling out an already prepared prompt, sliding it onto the table.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.

Mackenzie would pull out a tape recorder and set it on the table before pressing the 'play' button, leaning back into her seat.

Mackenzie- "Hello! Today we are interviewing this male, I will not call him by name because he wishes to remain anonymous. Well, sir, as you are aware we will be speaking about the debate whether service dogs are causing more harm than good- I am ecstatic to hear your opinion on this matter!"

Anonymous male- "Well, personally I am on the side of allowing service dogs, some people will always need help but that doesn't mean they're not worth helping."

Mackenzie- "Of course, of course. What about people who are allergic to animals? Or those who are especially allergic to dogs? What would you say to them?"

Anonymous male- "Well, there's not much you can do about allergies except take medication. Of course medication doesn't solve all problems, but it helps a lot with the symptoms. Then you can always stay out of the way for dogs and other animals if you are allergic, or keep your animal away from someone who you know is allergic."

Mackenzie- "Very interesting- now, sir, do you have any animals at home? Cats, dogs? Maybe a bird, even?"

Anonymous male- "I've had animals in the past, but right now I have no pets, no. Although, my daughter wishes for us to get a dog."

Mackenzie- "That's darling- now.. if one of your children were allergic to animals, and you heard they had a bad reaction from a service dog at school, what would you do in such a situation?"

Anonymous male- "Well, I don't think there's much you can do in such a situation more than comfort the child who has been affected and give them some sort of medication for it. I wouldn't know for sure how the situation went down, so I couldn't exactly put the blame on the owner of the dog either. Perhaps the affected child was curious and went to pet the animal even if they knew they were allergic."

Mackenzie- "That's quite the response! However- I'm curious.. What would you say to the people who think that service dogs shouldn't be allowed?"

Anonymous male- "Well, I can't change their opinions.. but I think it's foolish to banish service dogs- service animals in general, since we know that some people do need them. It ranges from people with mental issues to people with physical disabilities, and dogs especially are proven to be intelligent enough to read signs before disaster occurs. Sure, a blind person could use a walking stick and a person with epression or anxiety could use medication, but sometimes that just isn't enough."

Mackenzie- "Very well expressed, sir. I was also wondering- if you were working as a teacher and a child brought a dog inside school, claiming it was a service dog, how would you respond?"

Anonymous male- "Well, I suppose I'd ask for some sort of evidence? Anyone can claim that a dog is a service dog, but I'd say you'd need some sort of official paper to say that it's true."

Mackenzie- "Very well. I know hese questions can be tiring- but there's only a few left! Now, let me put another situation before you.. let's say you're out shopping for groceries, this lady stands in the isle with a dog which is wearing a service vest. As you pass them, the dog reacts strongly to your presence and starts barking at you. What would you do?"

Anonymous male- "Well, that's a difficult question.. it's sad to say, but there are people out there who pretend that their dogs are service dogs when they're really not. In a public situation like that, I would like to believe I would report it to the staff of the store so they can handle it. Pretending your dog is a service dog is one thing, but if they're going to be aggressive then that could be a danger to the rest of the public."

Mackenzie- "I see.. well- let's say you walk in a public space and see a person with a servie dog. Is it alright to approach to pet the dog?"

Anonymous male- "No. When a service dog is out and about, it's doing it's job and distractions could possibly lad to the dog seeking more social contact, making them unable to focus on their human who they're supposed to help. I suppose you could always ask the owner if it's alright to pet the dog, but it's good to keep in mind that it could interrupt the work of the dog."

Mackenzie- "Thank you, sir! Now.. you mentioned earlier that you've had pets earlier. Have you yourself ever had a service dog?"

Anonymous male- "Well.. no. I myself haven't had one, but my father had one when he got older. He lost his eyesight, you see."

Mackenzie- "Thank you for answering these questions, sir! There's only one left I'd like to ask.. will you get your daughter that dog?"

Anonymous male- A soft chuckle could be heard, "I'm not sure if I can answer that question right now.. But I will think about it."
