Describe your activity:
1762819600016.png
On a scale of 1-10, I’d rate my activity on the server a 7/10. I have an immense amount of free time on my hands, so I strive to come online every day. I’m online for at least 5-10 hours or longer everyday, unless I were to be preoccupied with a shifting work schedule and/or doctor appointments.

Link any significant applications (e.g., Roles/Teams, exclude languages):

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
My motivation comes from a desire to add variety to my roleplay experiences on SchoolRP, to change the perspective, to increase my writing skills, and to give myself a challenge; and of course to have fun and provide an enriching experience for myself and those my character interacts with. My experience range from FamilyRP such as with the Mues, Esposito and Togomi, normal civilian roleplay and even GangRP with the intelligence gang Man’en as a higher up, which has helped me increase my writing confidence and my motivation to branch out my roleplay experiences.

Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
I’ve always been a writer, ever since I was a child in middle school all the way up to present day as I write this, writing poems, song lyrics, short stories and even series of my own. I was always writing something down that came to mind in my note pads and note apps. In recent years I’ve been working on world building for a few new fantasy series I want to write. I can come up with a new character nearly on the spot, with additional artistic skill I can make those characters come to life; I like to think this talent helps me with designs for newspaper, book covers, or other types of writing media.

Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
Yes, I am aware of, and will follow the rules.

Why should we accept you over others?:
I don’t like to think of myself as above others, or as too prideful that I seem insufferable. Though, I have a good work ethic, I can commit to a role and stick with it; staying on top of my quota and other requirements. My skills regarding information gathering gained from my past experiences would greatly benefit my role as a reporter. I’m also quite helpful, and try to make roleplay as enjoyable as possible for others; even upholding a certain amount of detail in each action and sentence.

Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
Yes, I understand, and will stay completely neutral in all reports.

Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
Yes, as stated previously, I can commit myself to a role pretty well. If I need or have to take a break, I will take the appropriate actions and make an inactivity log or the equivalent of, or DM the faction lead.

Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
A reporter is the catalyst that emphasises the voice of the people, the citizens of Karakura, an informant of the public. A reporter investigates, interviews, gathers information and writes reports, creating an intriguing narrative for everyone to read and enjoy. A good reporter keeps the narrative unbiased and consistent, while enjoying the job itself. I think being a reporter would be a fun job, it involves a lot of interaction, involvement and dedication.

1762819600049.png
Full Name:
Entering the office was a young woman of average stature with amber curls over her shoulders, a few thick files nestled under her arm and a closed camcorder in hand, “hello there,” she smiled as she sat down before the desk, “My name is Giulia Togomi; pronounced like Julia, it’s a pleasure to meet you!” She spoke with a calm, clear and gentle tone of voice.

Giulia placed the files and camcorder down in her lap, her hands folded neatly on top of the papers.

Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)
Diligently nodding as she straightened her posture, the young woman spoke, “My preferred name would just be Giulia, and for a title,” she pressed her index finger to her chin as she seemed to contemplate this, “Ms. Togomi, preferably.” A simple nod solidified her decision.

Current Age (25+):
I’m 25 years old,” she lowered her hands back down to rest neatly in her lap. “Born July 18th, 2000.” Giulia patted on the papers in her lap; a file peaking out of the corner looked to be a birth certificate. It appeared she came a bit overprepared for this!

Past job/work experience:
Back in Rome while in college, I freelanced for a couple companies as a journalist, producing newspapers, magazines, online blogs,” Giulia paused to recall some more memorable moments of her past career, a sheepish smile formed on her face, “even writing recipes and even novels of my own; though,” she paused as she rose a hand to the back of her neck, “those weren’t as popular.” An awkward giggle left the ever-awkward woman- goodness, what was she thinking mentioning the awkward points in her resume?

After Rome, I moved back here and have been trying to find work since.” An eager look crossed her face, “I’m very excited to work here if I get the job.”

Degree/qualifications:
Replacing her hands quickly back in her lap, fidgeting a bit with the closed camcorder; though it only made her seem more rigid with nerves, “I graduated from the University of Rome Tor Vergata with a Bachelors in Journalism.” Giulia’s hands shifted over the papers in her lap, opening them and pulling out her degree papers.

Nationality and born location:
Giulia placed the papers down on the desk and with a nod, “I was born and raised in Rome, Italy,” she answered. "Making me Italian."

Phone Number:
My phone number is 030-751-8865.” She even whipped out a business card from the pile of files in her lap, sliding it across the desk towards the interviewer.

How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
Giulia took a moment to think about this, “I’d describe myself as calm, observant and calculated.” Giulia wasn’t the type to overreact, rather reacting with logic in mind, thinking before she acts. “Of course, I speak with kindness and patience as well,” though she may be a little awkward, “I have a deep-set determination and passion when it comes to writing and research.” Giulia finished speaking with a slight pop sound at the end of her sentence.

What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you consider going out of your comfort zone?:
I’m interested in writing just about anything, from people and places, to the natural and the supernatural,” she paused for a moment, “though, I have a fascination with the supernatural, one of my inspirations for my report was on the Daily Paranoia, actually!” She gleefully admitted, once again rummaging through the paper file in her lap and pulling out said document for later.

To achieve this, I would first set my goals and my standards. Is there a specific spirit I want to research? How dangerous could this spirit be, should I be careful? I would set up a careful plan for my goals and follow it to the best of my ability. I have connections and leads I could follow, to utilize to get the information I need.” Giulia pressed her hands together in front of her with a bright smile.

"I don't have any problems with stepping out of my comfort zones, if I had one I would consider stepping out of it if the need to arose."

What are your expectations for the job?:
Expectations for myself or the job as a whole?” Giulia pondered as her hands lowered, closing the files, “My expectations for myself is that I do well, stay out of trouble, keep up on quota and my projects. I expect myself to make many good connections with the people of Karakura, do a service for the community and do well to relay their stories in my reports as a reporter.” The young woman finally took a break to breathe.

Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:
Nope!” She chirped, “I have no criminal record, and I don’t plan on ever getting one. A reporter's reputation is everything, and a stain like a criminal record would ruin it.

Fluent Languages (Underline your native):
I speak fluent Italian, and learned Russian while in high school.” Giulia explained briefly.

PROMPTS:
You will have to write two reports about a topic of your choice. Here we can see how pronounced your writing is and how creative you are. Use your own formatting and your own report idea. (If you're found plagiarizing an actual report or another applicant, you will be denied.)

#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.

Giulia smiled and slid the report across the desk to the interviewer.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.

Giulia’s eyes seemed to light up, as she reached down to her lap and finally raised the camcorder that had been patient waiting to be started up this entire time.

A whir of life could be heard as the camcorder started up! The screen showed the device to be propped up on a tripod facing the talk table of a therapy room, with couches on each side. On one couch, sat quite the statuesque man, Yichen Huang, and on the other, the stouter and totally cuter Giulia Togomi.

Giulia
All righty,” Sitting back down, Giulia could be seen with a plushy on her shoulder, and a small microphone attached to the stuffed toy's left ear. “Hmm.. If you’d like to introduce yourself before I start asking questions, you may!

Yichen
The doctor watched the interviewers movements with a gentle gaze, speaking with a breath, “I’m Yichen Huang, a resident psychiatrist at Karakura Hospital.” Yichen’s head bobbed along with his words.

Giulia
I’m Giulia Togomi.” Gathering a notepad and pen; some obnoxious clicking of the pen, and a scribble in the corner of the paper to get the ink flowing later, Giulia spoke, “all right, my first question would be.. How did you decide you wanted to be a psychiatrist?

Yichen
It’s nice to meet you, Giulia,” He took a moment to recall the memories made many years ago, “My mother, she was the head of her department. I often was around her and her workplace. Naturally, I fell in love with the job, too. Following in my mothers footsteps as you will.”

Giulia
With swift hands against the paper, writing down every word, “she sounded like a wonderful lady,” the young woman’s attempt at keeping the conversation smooth. “My second question, Dr. Huang. Do you like your job, and what kind of qualifications and/or certificates did you need for it?

Yichen
She was a wonderful woman indeed,” the doctor cleared his throat, resuming his focus. “I do like my job, it’s like any other really, has its ups and downs. But I like it, I don’t regret it.” Yichen answered simply before continuing, “to become a psychiatrist.. It requires a lot of education, most people start off with their bachelor degree in psychology, biology or chemistry to fulfill their pre-med requirements. After that, you go into medical school to earn your M.D, but the admission requires passing the MCAT.”

Giulia
Wow,” she whistled a bit, “That’s one lengthy process,” Giulia finished writing before speaking once again, asking, “and how many years of school was that..?

Yichen
Each of those steps are roughly four years. It took me 12 years minimum to get where I am today.” The man sighed, feeling his age more than ever at this moment.

Giulia
So, on top of those 12 years, how long have you been practicing psychiatry for?” The young woman's gaze fell to her paper notebook once more, continuing to scratch her notes against the paper.

Yichen
The male nodded along with a slight chuckle, “the long process may have been daunting at times, but it was well worth it in the end. I’ve been doing psychiatry since my resident years. So, a handful of years, pretty recently actually.”

Giulia
Ah, a few years- may have lost track of time, I suppose?” The young woman pondered with a slight giggle, her shoulders bounced up and down a solid three times.

Yichen
Rubbing the back of his head, the psychiatrist debated, “yeah its… been quite a while. Forgive me on that one. If I had to put a number to it, I’d say roughly five years since I started my residency and finished it.” The doctor sighed, mourning his older age.

Giulia
All right, my next set of questions are more work-centered rather than being related to your career upbringing,” she explained briefly, “what is your treatment philosophy, Dr. Huang? Do you use medication, talk therapy or both?

Yichen
Yichen’s gaze lowered to the talk therapy table between them, his hands tugging on the bottom hem of his scrubs, “for me personally, I believe in getting to know my patients, their history.. So, talk therapy is where I start. It lets me build a basic profile. Over time with the more I learn about them and what they may need, I may look to medication; after a diagnostic session to help aid them further.”

Giulia
The sound of scribbling only persisted, “that makes you seem very committed to making the best decisions for your patients, Doctor Huang,” Giulia shot a friendly smile towards him, complimenting his commitment.

Yichen
I always do what’s best for my patients, to the best of my ability. I’m there to support them and give them a sense of security and know when you feel lost or struggling.” Yichen was glad his commitment was clear.

Giulia
For my next question,” her eyes fell to the paper, deciphering her own chicken scratch, “what do you consider to be the most important traits for a psychiatrist to have?

Yichen
I think you have to have a good grasp on empathy and sympathy, to work a job like this. You have to.” Yichen seemed to ponder to himself for a moment, a look of recollection on his face, “logic is good, but it’s not everything when it comes down to human emotions and trauma.

Giulia
She was honestly expecting her hand to start cramping from writing by now from how long of responses the doctor had.

Yichen
Another is being open minded and adaptable. You don’t know who's coming in here for what, or why, or when. Being open allows you to be ready for anything, and lower the risk of arrogance.” He finally took a breath. “Those are the traits I would choose, what I would say is most important.”

Giulia
She put their hand down to give it a break, only to the pen with the other hand to finish her writing, “those traits are quite admirable,” she moved on, “with having traits like those, how would you handle stress in the workplace, with patients or even your own co-workers?

Yichen
He seemed to hold his breath for this question, another look of contemplation as his eyes fell to the table… “Handling stress is very different with certain people, but for me personally, I always remind myself why I’m here; to help. Realizing that helps keep me grounded and focused, prioritizing my patients.”

Giulia
Giulia flipped the page of her notebook as the psychiatrist talked.

Yichen
Regarding coworkers,” Yichen raised a hand to tap his chin with his finger, “I remind myself to breathe, to keep myself steady at all times. However, if the stress does become too much, I rely on other means; walking away if I can, going out for fresh air or simply splashing water on my face.”

Giulia
A perplexed look crossed the young woman's features, seeming to know a thing or two about stress. Even in the fuzzy camera work, you could see some gray roots near the top of her bangs; horrifically dyed amber of course.

Yichen
Yichen remained quiet as he noticed this, a brow knitting slightly with concern for the young woman.

Giulia
Suddenly, the young woman's voice lowered as she asked, “how do you handle neglect or mistreatment of your patients from your co-workers?” This question seemed to come out of left field.

Yichen
There.. may be many ways to approach a situation like this. I could resort to reporting whoever is doing it and seeing if the client can change who they see, or that person is removed from their position,” he nodded along, “or I could observe and have a private talk with the patient and learn what is happening and slowly shift them to be under my care.” This was the best answer he could give at this moment.
I think the question you asked is too open to give a certain answer, so I remained with that. The possibilities are endless.

Giulia
Giulia smiled- knowing she had caught the man off guard with that question. “Forgive me, I try to keep the questions as open as possible. Airs the opportunity for any kind of response.”

Yichen
No need to apologize, I don’t blame you. You’re doing a good job.” The doctor would simply say, expressing his dismay with a wave of his hand.

Giulia
She tapped the notebook with her pen, reading over the beginning of her final remaining questions, “my next questions are more outside of work, and more future related,” she explained briefly, “what do you do outside of work that helps you maintain a healthy, well-balanced life?

Yichen
When I go off duty, I spend some time in the plaza, just taking in some fresh air. I will go home, cook a well-balanced meal, maybe visit the zen gardens or the shrine for peace of mind.” There was some silence between his responses, “A moment of silence to process the days I have had, to journal, to meditate. Another way is to spend time with my kids, though I’m glad they are able to take care of themselves now.

Giulia
Her brows raised with surprise! “Oh wow, I didn’t take you for a family man, since you seemed so committed to your work.”

Yichen
Amusement blossomed across the male's face, “I am committed to both, and yes. I have two children.” Though, the names were cut out from the camcorder tape for privacy.

Giulia
She simply nodded as her lips seemed to thin, “and what would you say is the most rewarding part of being a psychiatrist?

Yichen
Nodding and silent, missing his kids, he went on to answer, “The most rewarding part… is when you can see the clarity. You can see the patient finally knowing that they will be okay, and that there is an answer to their calls.” A solemn smile appeared, “its something special. Something I wouldn’t trade the world for.”

Giulia
Her expression seemed to relax, “that sounds very commendable, Dr. Huang.” Her eyes dropped to the notebook, “now for my final question!

Yichen
Let’s hear it, Ms. Togomi.”

Giulia
Nodding along she asked, “this may seem cliche, but where do you see yourself in five years?” With her hand closed around the pen, she rolled her wrist to stretch it out, praying it lasted till the end.

Yichen
Humming gently, the man would gaze at the room as he thought, “Where I see myself in five years… honestly, my life is going well, and if it keeps going that way I’ll still be working here.” The male shrugged, “maybe I’ll even have a wife or husband.”

Smiling brightly as she finished her writing, Giulia set the notebook down, “thank you so much for answering my questions, Dr. Huang!” Giulia turned to the camcorder, and with a click of the button the recording turned off.
