Describe your activity: I play for about 6+ hours a day, I understand that most people create tables for these, but the last time I made a table I cried at least 3 times and it took me over 4 hours. So I'm just going to use words to create an explanation of my activity. On week-days I average at least 6 hours a day, and more. During the weekend I often play for around 12 hours a day, I know, No grass. But anywho, with faction characters I like to play for more than the regular showtime for a character, I like to play them for more time then just, to get quota, they should have the same chances for roleplay as my other characters, and work towards relationships, find drama, find close friends, they aren’t just a means for money, or being in a faction. It’s a character and I like playing it as such.

Staff Application

What is your motivation to apply for reporter?:
I’ve wanted to be a reporter since I found out that the faction existed within SRP, The news faction always gave me an interest. This is for many reasons, I’ve always found a joy within writing. It’s a passion I've had for the longest time, and watching the [NEWS] broadcasts that get broadcasted to the server is truly amazing, They usually either have a small joke which always makes me laugh, a song/game of the day that I can listen to, and it’s usually really nice, or a small fact, sometimes one’s I don't know, sometimes one that I do know, and the articles are a strong quality and honestly enjoyable to read, and I hope that I can eventually bring to the server that, and allow somebody to find that joy in reading, or learning the facts that the current news faction brings to the server now.

Do you have any experience with writing? What is your relationship with writing?:
Yes! I wrote for about four years for a school news program, and I’ve written many articles. I spent three years writing a short-story that I was pushed to publish because of the quality but never went through with it. It was suggested to me that I write papers to be published, but I'm still attending school. I find myself constantly writing in my free time. It's just something I enjoy, so I would say my “relationship” with writing is really nice.

Are you aware of - and will follow - the set of rules provided to you?:
Yes, I am fully aware of the set of rules that are provided, and agree fully to follow them!

Why should we accept you over others?:
You should accept me over other’s not because im better, Im sure there are many others that could do the quality I can, or maybe even better, But I have a strong commitment to the SRP community, I have a strong will to write, and I always push to get better at writing, I always ask for criticism or input if I need it, ask for help if I find an issue in my writing. That is the reason you should accept me, my commitment and my urge to write more and more, and get better at writing.

Do you understand you have to stay completely neutral with all reports? (Your report can't have any OOC or IC bias towards a specific group.)
Yes, I fully understand that I have to remain completely unbiased from an OOC and IC stand point!

Do you trust that you will be able to stay active and complete the monthly quota?:
Yes, I do believe that I will be able to stay active and complete the monthly required quota!

Summarise what you imagine work as a reporter is:
I believe that the work as a reporter is as follows: Covering Events within the town/server, covering outbreaks like the fire in the wood, just bringing the facts to the rest of the people, and reporting on things that they would find interesting! Though the next few might not be required, I believe that it’s something that may be worth doing as a reporter. Public Polling: Rather it’s for a report, or just to get a grounds of what the people would want to hear about. Team Work: It’s important to have a good work-coworker friendship, this is true for both OOC and IC terms, because they can help you out, give you information critique you’re writing where it seems to need it!

IC (In-Character) Information:
Treat this section like it is your own character answering it

Full Name:

[!] The man sat down across from the interviewer, allowing his breath to catch up with itself, taking a small bow of his head, tapping his chin once the Interviewer asked the question, then took a second before replying [!]
“Hello! My full name is Leonardo Stark Watcher!”

Preferred Name/Nickname and Title (e.g., Ms, Mr)
[!] Watcher would be seen fidgeting with his fingers constantly, his legs slowly creating a cross over each other, he gave another nod, proceeding to do so through the interviewer’s question, gosh it was too late to turn back from doing that now. [!]
“Ah, I don’t exactly have a preferred title, I think that expecting somebody to call you a title like ‘Mr’ ‘Mrs’, ‘Ms’, is quite.. Well it’s not really anything bad, It’s just not my style! I just prefer to be called by name, or if you’re closer to me, nickname works! Leo is the most common name, it’s honestly what I prefer to be called. There's a few people that call me “Leon” and that’s okay, but I prefer that you call me that when we’re closer.. Rather than just after meeting.”
[!] The male scratched at the back of his neck, his breath catching up with his words, he had spoken over himself in his head at least three times, his thoughts constantly breaking, but he was proud of the words he got out. [!]

Current Age (25+):

[!] the male slid over his resume, along with it.. Birth Certificate.. WOAH?! What a weird thing to bring to a job interview, this guy, am I right? [!]
“Ah, I'm Twenty-Five years old! Just recently, that is.”
[!] another nod, god is that all this man knew how to do? Probably.. He just pressed his hang against the back of his neck. Scratching slightly nervously as he waited for the next question from the interviewer. [!]

Past job/work experience:

[!] He took a second, keeping his hand firmly against the table as he thought. He didn’t want to mention his past occupations, at least the ones that he didn’t feel would be respected in the workplace, his more criminal past. [!]
“Well, I used to work at a few stores in this town, if that counts? I worked at Yona-Yona, I currently work at Tsuki-No-Umi as a waiter, and work at Seikatsu as a waiter! So I'm pretty active in the work environment, because I find it to be more fun than anything. Is the pay nice? Sure! But that’s not why I do any of it.”
[!] He pointed to his resume, fixating on the ‘Occupation/Experience’ Section of it, surely enough it had everything he had just listed written down on it. With another word on it, scribbled out, he wasn’t very proud of that career, so he had scratched it out. And failed to mention it. [!]
“There’s also some extracurricular activities I did during my teens. In high school, I was on the high-school baseball team twice! I participated in a bunch of occult club events, started a student paper for a brief time before I had to move out of Karakura! Just a few past things I've done that might be worth mentioning!”

Degree/qualifications:
[!] He took the resume for himself, knowing that portion of the evaluation was over, He instead reached into the briefcase he had kept carefully on hand, grabbing out another portfolio, this one was his college portfolio. [!]
“I have multiple degrees! My first time in college was for a masters degree in psychology, I thought that it was the career path that I wanted to turn for, but, whilst writing a bunch of research papers for the class, I found that yes, psychology was interesting for me, but not as interesting as the writing, and research portion of the class. So, I went for a different major, after getting my Bachelor only in Psychology. I went in for a Major of Communications with a minor in Journalism, Those were a few of my best education years, I eventually graduated with a bachelor's degree in all of those sections. I understand that a lot of people that come through your office may have Masters degrees, maybe PhD’s. I understand that I may not be exactly as qualified as them. But I'm qualified, and I'm willing to enroll in a few courses while I'm employed at the news station to continue my degree, and hopefully get a masters in communications!
[!] He slid over another set of papers, taking them straight from his portfolio, these ones being his college transcripts, along with his degrees, and his high school diploma. [!]
“I will admit, I had quite a hard time in high school, up until my senior year, where I moved to another city to pursue a lower level of education. They really helped me get interested in education, which is what pushed me so hard to get a college degree.. That diploma was the hardest paper it took for me to earn, but it taught me that not everything comes easy in life, sometimes you have to work hard to get the same rewards that some people can work less for.”
[!] He paused, and scratched at his own throat, he had talked himself out of his original tone, he turned from nervous to confident, boy was that hard for him, but his throat itched like a bitch now. [!]
“Do you guys have any water?”

Nationality and born location:

[!] He nodded as the other spoke. He didn’t have any papers for this one, so it relied completely on his speech. [!]
“I was born in England, but I quickly moved off to France. My parents were French but were on a small abroad trip for college around the time they had me, so they were in England at the time. But I'm fully french.. I never learned the native language in France, though I wouldn’t be opposed to learning it now. I moved to Karakura when I was 16, just trying to take a break from France, though I was still young. Moving alone, while it’s what most people do here in karakura, isn’t the best idea, at least, it didn’t feel like it was to me. My parents were super close to a family that resided in karakura, so they asked if they could take me in, at least for my high school years.. Looking back today I'm glad they said yes, I even took on their family name, eventually.”

Phone Number:
[!] A long pause, before the male took a gaze down at his pocket, taking a second to remove his phone from it, opening it, and checking his number, the next sentence came with a chuckle. [!]
“030-272-7884, It’s not something I seem to remember a lot, my apologies.”

How would you describe yourself in under 150 words?:
[!] his face went blank as he looked across the room, before he trailed his eyes off, looking across the room. He then spoke out, staring at the earlier interviewer once more. He finally spoke out. [!]
“Just 150 words? Gosh that’s hard, I suppose I would attempt to be as truthful as I possibly could. I have a childish personality, sadly enough, I've been working at it best I could. but it's hard, I got so used to it over my time here on earth, It's a hard habit to shake, but nothing is impossible, they say. I have a keen eye for reading a room. I know when to be professional, and I know when it's the right time to crack a joke, Though of course, sometimes I'm wrong, I'm only human after all.. God I love that song. I have a work ethic like a submarine. I just hug-hug-hug along and do my best, if there's ever an issue I press on, see what I can do to fix it. I've learned from my mistakes, they say that's what growing truthfully is."
[!] He sighed, he couldn’t believe that he just spit out 148 words just like that. He wasn’t one to talk much, but at least feelings weren’t involved this time around, like the last time he spoke out. He couldn’t even believe himself. He made a metaphor in relation to a submarine, not everyone can say that they’ve ever compared themselves to a submarine, but I guess he can now. [!]

What are you interested in writing about? How will you achieve this, and would you
Consider going out of your comfort zone?:

[!] He gave a small hum, then a nod of agreement, before breaking out in words again. [!]
“Well, working is learning to grow, go outside of your comfort zone, So of course I would be willing to. I may just need some leniency when it comes to it. I don’t go outside of my comfort zone often, so it’s a new thing, It’s not.. Easy! But my main focus would have to be either, paranormal activity, myths surrounding those, or small social media quips! Sort of like the soda article that had been written not too long ago about the drinks in karakura. Or something regarding stores! It’s all interesting to me, and something I’d be willing to cover in an article!”

What are your expectations for the job?:
[!] He nodded, his quiet hum dying out with the silence of the room, before he pulled his hand back from the table. His humming had stopped. He nodded again, before forcing a light, faded smile towards the interviewer. [!]
“I expect to be pushed to the best of my abilities, to be forced to work hard and provide a quality that’s acceptable for the KA-News regulation. I also expect to not be forced into a hole where I have to dig out of it on my own, I'm expecting to be able to turn to my co-workers in confidence if I’m struggling with my quality, or finding a topic, or just need critique in general. It’s nothing that every workplace shouldn’t have. Every workplace should have a willing to help attitude, and expect the best quality that you can get, and knowing that quality is different for everyone, and you can’t expect them to learn to better themselves all on their own.”

Do you have a criminal record? If so, list the crimes below:
[!] His face grew an embarrassed shade of disappointment. In himself that is.[!]
“Yes, sadly I do have a criminal record, only a short one. Though yes, it is something to be ashamed of, at least in my eyes. I have one felony. Possession of Illegal Weaponry. And a charge for evasion, and then another for assault. It all happened so quickly, I know that you didn’t ask why I have the charges, so I won’t give you the story, but I will say one thing. I’ve changed since then, It’s been years, and I don’t do those types of things anymore.”

Fluent Languages (Underline your native):
[!] He nodded, just glad that the interviewer graced him with continuing the interview after that comment. He pressed a finger against the table, tapping slightly, his anxiety grew silently, though he didn’t wish to express this, or reveal it, he kept it to the slow, melodious tapping of the table. [!]
“Well, I can speak a few languages. Russian, which was my first, Japanese from when I moved to karakura, and Chinese, from my late boyfriend, god rest his soul. I loved him, so I learned his language for him..”
[!] He finally cut himself off, no need for a sob story, or a life story. Not in a job interview that is. [!]

PROMPTS:
You will have to write two reports about a topic of your choice. Here we can see how pronounced your writing is and how creative you are. Use your own formatting and your own report idea. (If you're found plagiarizing an actual report or another applicant, you will be denied.)

#1 - General report. Report about a topic, informing players about an event or significant issues to Karakura.

#2 - Interview. It's important to have well-rounded questions. Create your own interview with ten questions or more. And answer them yourself.

[!] A video submission was found, one titled as ‘Communications Class : Mock Interviews’ [!]

Leonardo:
“What pushed you to take on communications class?”
Student:
“I found an interest in watching people do radio talk shows when I was younger, and wanted to explore that more!”

Leonardo:
“Amazing, Now what is the first thing you plan to do with your communication degree when you get out of college?”

Student:
“I plan to rent out a studio! So I can start my own radio broadcast, cover the news of the area, attacks, paranormal investigations, just the stuff happening around my hometown!

Leonardo:
“Amazing, I hope that you can prosper in your dreams then, sir. With the broadcast, would you want to do it alone, or with another person, or maybe a crew?”
Student:
“I wouldn’t want to work with a crew, but I wouldn’t want to work alone, maybe a friend or two. Maybe a family member? I just wouldn’t want a whole crew to back me.”
Leonardo:
“Would you wish for a sponsor? Or would you want to do this entirely off your own monetary gain, and donations?”
Student:
“I would rather go purely off of donations, or my own gain, like having a second job! I feel like using sponsors is like giving away your credit, telling people that the sponsor deserves credit even though you did all the work, you pushed, you worked tirelessly, figuring out what to cover.”
Leonardo:
“Do you know what the first story you would cover would be?”

Student:
“Well, I think that I would want to cover a bear invasion that happened in my hometown just a week ago. A large number of bears came into the town, rushing through and scaring the people away from their homes. It’s something worth talking about.”

Leonardo:
“Wonderful, it’s always good to have a good first topic! How often would you want to provide radio broadcasts?”

Student:
“Well, I think once a month would be great time, I’ll still have to work a regular job, I have to not only fund my own life, but fund the radio broadcasts as well!”

Leonardo:
“With it being once a month, would you want to have it be more than an hour so that you can cover more, or short-form episodes and cover small blurbs?”

Student:
“I would prefer to do longer form episodes, covering a large number of topics every month! Giving an ultimate monthly coverage of the town’s events.”
Leonardo:
“Let’s get back onto the topic of your class. What’s the favorite sub-topic that you’ve covered while majoring in Communications?”

Student:
“Organizational Communications! Where we learned how to do things in a more professional or group setting.”

Leonardo:
“Well, Just two more questions for you, and then you can be off. Would you ever take up a job as a journalist or reporter?”

Student:
“No. Now, I won’t leave it at just that, but Im just going to say, It’s not for me, props for all those that do wish to be reporters that’s all them, but i came into this field of work to get away from writing, yes people can use this degree for writing, and doing reporter things, but I walked into this class with not even a second thought that I NEVER wanted to professionally write. Even if it brought money and food to the table.”

Leonardo:
“Last question, first of all, sir. Thank you for coming out, answering all our questions. I hope you have a wonderful day once this interview ends. But the final question is.. Do you see yourself still using your degree in ten years? Still being a radio host, or still just using your degree in any professional standing.”
Student:
“Yes, I hope that it can bring me a life lasting career, there’s more to a career like this then just doing it for money, or doing it to get some entertainment for a bit and then baking off, it’s about making a life, doing what you enjoy, rather that be using the degree to write articles, or to create a radio broadcast, either way, I see myself using it almost daily, even in ten years. Yes."
