What is your Minecraft username?:
wkiii (main)
_dkiii (applying)

Do you have Discord (If so, what is your discord username?):
Yes, I do! @wki. (with the period)

How old are you? (Optional):
I’m 19.

What is your time zone?:
My timezone is EST.

Describe your activity on the server:

TEAMS
Throughout my time on SRP, I’ve dabbled in its teams. I’ve been on high school cheer three times (I’ve been playing since 2022, so around three years), and was also on College female basketball at some point! The first time I joined the high school cheer team, I was still extremely new to the server. I had joined with my first character, Noriko Endo. She was your stereotypical cheerleader. Rude, Confident, and Ditzy. She was super fun to play as a nice introduction to the server. The second time was 2024, where I introduced Cindy Wong (who’s never wrong). This time around, I took a different approach with my character, wanting to stand out against other tryout-ees. I opted to make my character the complete antithesis of a cheerleader - a nerd. Wherever I could, I’d participate in rivalry, team bonding, and any other events I was able to attend (including non-sports-related)! I’ve also joined the spartan female football team, and most recently had another run on high school cheer as Octavia Leon!

ART / TAILORING
Around 2022-2023, I began making art commissions in Euphoria. Working as an artist was nice, I liked interacting with the community by doing something I loved: drawing. Eventually, I stopped taking art commissions and focused on skins, primarily because it was less time consuming and I had OOC priorities to handle. However, to this day, I still make skins!

OTHER
I was briefly a Lawyer on a character named Hye-Jin Endo. I came to love it, ruling the court with my character was such a fun thing to do. Hye-Jin defended her clients with an iron fist. Even in the most precarious of cases, failure wasn’t an option. Everyone in the faction was very kind. I enjoyed the environment and the dynamic of the town faction, and the new experiences it gave me.

In general, I’m quite active, and I try to log on almost every day. I do have a job, so depending on my schedule, I’m usually on later at night, around 8 PM-1 AM EST. On my days off, my activity can range from 4-10 hours. My days off aren’t the same weekly, so it truly depends on what my schedule looks like!

Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you will be demoted?:
Yes, I do recognize this.

Link(s) to any previous applications and appeals on the server:

What are your current role(s) on the server? (If you're in college, specify your degree level):

wkiii:
[College] [Bachelors] Cindy Wong
[Grade 12] ( Not in use )
And a few other slots I do not use.

(applying) _dkiii:
[Grade 12] Octavia León
[Bird] ‘Gui’

/*You may add your own questions to the format*/

What shop are you applying for?:
Other (Funerary Store)

Why do you want to become a Shopkeeper?:
My primary reason for wanting to become a Shopkeeper is to offer something new to the server. While I’m sure this is something most applicants mention (rightfully so, as everyone aims to bring something unique and creative), I realized that a funerary store was something that hadn't been done. Although the Shrine and Church offer related services, there has yet to be a shop specializing in funerary services and items, something I’ll expand upon in the upcoming questions.

I also want to create new opportunities for the family I’m building: a family shrouded in the macabre, clad in eldritch silk: the Wongs. I want my role as Shopkeeper to complement my family’s lore, not just appear suddenly in their narrative. That’s why I’ve chosen them to run a funeral home. Since they aren’t particularly well known, you may not be familiar with them, but their entire shtick is being ‘uncanny’, for lack of a better word. I hope that establishing a shop that fits their lore will open a gateway for storytelling and interesting interactions.

Another reason is that I want to engage with players in a different way. During my time playing SRP, I’ve held only a few roles: Cheerleader, Lawyer, and Student. Of course, my characters had more depth beyond those titles, but what excites me about being a Shopkeeper is the range of possibilities. I plan to be active in the community, present on the floor rather than hidden behind closed doors.

What do you plan to do with your shop, and what makes it unique?

Karakura, Japan. A small island off Japan’s archipelago, infamous for its established families and rich history. With a bustling cityscape and endless attractions, Karakura has plenty for those full of life. . .

But what about those who aren't?
Beneath your very feet, rooted deeply in the land. . .

Karakura’s forgotten demographic:
The deceased.

‘Wong Zhi Die’
‘Wong’s Paper Butterfly’ aims to mend the gap in Karakura’s market, lending an outlet to those who still remain above, to treat those below. Offering a plethora of services and countless items to commemorate your loved ones, we inherently differentiate ourselves from other shops.

Memorials / Funerals
Would you like to commemorate a loved one after they’ve passed? Wong Zhi Die’s plethora of qualified attendants are at your disposal. Attendants will help with various aspects of the event, such as scheduling or location. Additional services, such as holding prayers, detail-rp remembrances, procession with the hearse, or helping with writing eulogies, may be offered.

Not to forget our furry friends, Wong Zhi Die will also offer a brief inkprint ceremony for those who’ve crossed over the rainbow bridge, with a physical item being given to the owner once completed.
The physical item will be either a paw print or a framed feather.

Tombsweeping Day
The Qingming festival
The sun's rays thawed Mother Nature’s wintry cloak, casting its radiance onto the flora that painted the lands. Alas, in the heart of spring lies a bittersweet day, Toombsweeping day, known to many as the ‘Qingming festival’

Wong Zhi Die will host a plethora of festivities at Karakura’s cemetery, abiding by the traditional practices often held on this occasion.

Gravesite cleaning
As the title suggests, participants will tend to the tombs present at the cemetery. Not only will they clean but burn incense, light firecrackers and most importantly, make offerings! My main goal for this event is community bonding, afterall.

Entertainment
Traditional performances such as Lion Dance, folk dance or even martial arts displays will be held at this event. I would love to host applications for people to apply to have a show at the festival, to have it limited to only employees would be boring! There would also be the option of kite flying, where people may cut the strings for good luck!

Collaborations
A flower arrangement stand will be present at the festival so patrons may create custom bouquets for the graves they wish to decorate or to take home. Wong Zhi Die may sell a variety of bouquets, but ideally this would be an opportunity to collaborate with another shop, such as Kirei Hana. Additionally, it’s also common for there to be food which would be a nice way to collaborate with a restaurant. Some of the stalls may have to be in the Ochiba forest, with a candle-lit path to guide patrons back to the cemetery.

What discounts will you have?

Wong Zhi Die will offer a trifecta of discounts. But note, they are NOT stackable! Only one discount may be redeemed per purchase. For example, if you’re a Maiden and completed a ‘Good Samaritan’ task, you cannot stack your 5% and 10% discounts for a 15% discount. You may either redeem 5% off or 10%.

‘Good Samaritan!’

To garner an incentive for the citizens of Karakura to do good, (these rapscallions are little gremlins in disguise) Wong Zhi Die will promote a ‘Good Samaritan’ Discount, with each task giving a 5% discount. In the event you complete both, you’ll receive a 10% discount in total. Doing the same task twice will not result in a 10% discount, you will have to complete both!

In order to qualify, patrons must provide evidence of them completing one (or more) of the following deeds.

‘Resurrection’
Do not fret, for Necromancy is not endorsed by Wong Zhi Die. Instead, we ask you to clean up your local cemetery! Everyone deserves a makeover.
1. Pick a grave
2. Pay respects
3. Clean it, add flowers and decor if you wish!
(In the form of a 5-10 sentence DETAILRP action, we want to promote RP)

‘Benefactor’
Donate to the following organizations:

Archdiocese of Karakura
Shinsei Seinaru Monastery

The sum of your Donation may range from 100 yen and beyond.
Feel free to include your friends on any of these endeavors!

After redeeming this discount, in order to qualify for the next purchase you must do it again!

In the event that this application is accepted, I would utilize a ticket system in order to verify the tasks were completed.

‘For the Sacred.’

For their valiant efforts, Maidens and Priests of the Shinsei Seinaru Monastery in cohort with the clergy of the Archdiocese of Karakura will receive a discount of 10% on all items. No wonder a funerary store would reward those who are devout to their faith!

In order to qualify, the staff must show adequate proof of their position at their respective organization.

‘To give Grace.’

For those who’ve recently lost a loved one Wong Zhi Die will offer a 10% discount. However, in order for patrons to not abuse this discount, thorough evidence must be submitted (such as a death certificate).

What will you sell in your shop?:
Wreathes
Casket beds
Incense
Candles / Candelabras
Rosaries
Crosses
Bibles
Antique Hair Brushes
Grave markers, headstones
Urns / Memorial sets
Offering sets - Money, lanterns, Altars, tea, (food maybe)
Heirloom items - Earrings, lockets, necklaces, bracelets
Talisman, ofuda, and any other written prayers
Chalice, singing bowls, fine china

As some of these items do not exist in game (to my knowledge), I plan on purchasing many customs for my shop!
Moodboard (1).png

How many employees do you plan to have?:

Funeral Director (shopkeeper) 1/1
The funeral Director oversees all operations of the funeral home, ICLY and OOCLY.
Yuè-Liang Wong

Funeral Attendants (Managers) 3/3
Funeral Attendants report directly to the Funeral Director and are capable of opening and assisting with various events, such as memorials and funerals. In addition to general clerk duties, attendants will also aid in screening applications and conducting interviews.
Youmei Wong
Aisyah Wong
Celine Wong

Clerks 0/? (Cashiers)
Clerks are tasked with operating registers and guiding patrons. They will report to the Funeral Attendants.

Apprentices (Trainees) 0/?
Apprentices are to undergo a brief training period before they can be promoted to Clerks. This is a way to test compatibility with the rest of the team while also making sure everyone has a good grasp on the store’s operations.

How will you hire people?

As far as interviews go, I’d like to conduct them ICLY. However, there will be a screening ( containing a IC/OOC section) in the form of a google form in order to sort who will proceed with an “in person” interview.

The Matriarch’s Debut

A skeletal hand clenched around a Raven’s skull with a golden band perched on her fourth finger. A web of veins trailed beneath her silken sleeves, guiding your eyes unto a bewitching woman.

Tales of her past carved deep canyons onto her visage, each wrinkle harboring a different memory; Crow's feet brimmed the outer-corners of her eyes posing as a bittersweet reminder of the pleasant days that slipped her mind.

1767586509255.png ”. . .Hello there, dear. . .Goodmorning? Or is it afternoon. . ?”

Her voice creaks like the wailing planks below her. With each step she takes a retched cry is drawn from the antiquated floor, the brute thud of her cane amplifying the eerie ambiance that trailed in her wake.

Your name? 1767587143162.png

1767586509255.png “Yuè-Liang Wong. . .Though you may refer to me as Grandma Wong.”

Gentleness brimmed at the corners of her mouth, pruned lips churning into a smile doused in honey. Grandma Wong may’ve been tombdust personified but her heart was forever imbued with gold.

Why a funerary store? 1767587135787.png

1767586509255.png ‘’Death is something we all have known. Whether it be a pet, parent, or partner. . .”

She spares a glance at the gold ring she adorned.

“Loss is inevitable. To become familiar with it is to conquer it - To fear it, is to be consumed. There was a point in my life where uncertainty riddled every aspect of my being, to have such anxieties instilled within you is paralyzing. How could I allow anyone to suffer the same? I couldn’t. Thus, I embarked on a journey against all odds, pursuing an education in Thanatology - The study of death. Having a foundation in both the scientific and spiritual aspects was crucial in the development of the funeral home. . .”

The Matron’s eyes glaze over as a whirlwind of memories hauls her into the past. A single bat of the eye returns her focus. “I yearn to offer a home - not just to grieve, but for community to be shared. Wong Zhi Die will serve as a beacon, a place where bliss and plight intertwine.”
