Balcony Editing

What's your Minecraft Username?: ProblematicKat1
What's the title of your suggestion?: Balcony Editing

What's your suggestion?:
I suggest that all available balconies are editable by the apartment owner. It's space that should be able to be utilized.

How will this benefit the server and community?:
Being able to maximize space

I do not agree that balconies should be able to be edited. A lot of the times, people will misuse balconies and put things out there that aren't realistic. Such as Bedrooms, bathrooms, so on

It's kinda interesting how we ALREADY have Complexes with editable balconies, yet we are -1 on the suggestion of letting people edit the balconies of other complexes. Same as people editing the outside of their houses, yet the rest of the homeowners don't have such 'luxury.'

Yes, there are builders, but from experience, I tried to contact some of them... And as soon as I say something about building, I start hearing hesitation. Like, at this point, just let us edit our own property. It is WAY too much hustle for normal players to do a thing this simple.

Plus... For anyone saying "People will take advantage of this and build unrealistic things"... Chat... This is already INSIDE the SRP Rules!!

If someone BREAKS THE RULES, STAFF HANDLES IT. It makes 0 sense that SRP tells me I cannot edit an apartment for this reason, yet there are already people placing bedrooms in the balcony and (as far as I'm aware) not facing any consequences.

This is a completely reasonable suggestion, and it makes no sense why there would be 'Balcony Privileges' in one complex, and then not allowing people to edit in another one... Like... We have to be real about this chat.

I am +1 for this and would be very happy if it were added. However, for it to be added they would have to extend the property region of every single property that has a balcony - which is most of them. There are several hundred for them to go through.
In the mean time, if you do want your balcony edited, you can always ask a builder or admin and they might be able to help you :D

I appreciate the reasons why this might have been denied and the broader concern of 'unrealistic builds', but as others have observed, there is a rule prohibiting that anyway, and staff can always just remove it and leave warnings behind.

This was suggested and denied before.
But new constructions have been made since then.
The shopping district is completely different.

Might I suggest, at the very least, balconies that straight up face a mountain (and thus, nobody even really sees it) are permitted to, y'know, have that extra space for building? I see no reason for a prohibition there. Rule 3.7 should be updated to reflect prohibitions on building bathrooms, etc., if that is a live concern

I agree with possibly a re evaluation for balconies for future apartments.

We already have a rule in place for balconies and unrealistic builds in general, staff can always go through and remove unrealistic ones and leave warnings behind for the person who built it.

Balconies are apart of a property you pay for, therefore, you should be able to edit and build in that space without having to contact a builder to make it personal to your characters space.

As much as I'm not a fan of two story balconies, or people building entire second rooms on balconies that are completely unrealistic (Let's be real, it's not up to code to have a two story balcony with a bathroom, where is building inspection???)

My only alternative suggestion would be make sure balconies are pre built when the complex is built prior to placing it on the map so that it is already filled out and we don't need to go in a second time to make it looked lived in.

But this agreement might be controversial speaking as a builder..

I was told you can't even contact Builders if you don't have access to your property's region. Now I'm confused... :(
