Watanabe Hanako, a sweet young girl who appears to be mute! She’s usually found wandering in her “own world” as she sketches in her little book; she aspires to be a prestigious painter someday.
Hana grew up learning from her older sisters Himawari and Hitomi, she desperately wanted to be close to their mother but was always scolded for being an “airhead” for being so quiet, unknowing that she was hard of hearing and mute. She's always been in her own little world due to her creative mind. Her parents found out she was hard of hearing when she was put in school at 5 and immediately rejected her as she grew up, seeing her as “weak”. As she grew older she developed a passion for painting and art and finally felt she had the freedom to express her feelings in her own unique way due to her not being able to with words as well due to her hearing! She’d spend hours in her room painting with her acrylics and spent a lot of her time isolated and listening to music, the vibrations comforted her. The only three people she adored interacting with were her twin sister Kuro and her eldest sisters Himawari and Hitomi . Kuro and Hana are “opposites” in many ways and yet she still always feels safe around her and has always been glued to her side, she finds comfort in knowing Kuro sees her as normal!
