Describe your activity on the server:
I joined SRP initially a couple of years ago, even though I do not remember much I took around a 2 year break, leading up until now. Currently, I am very active on the server, am on for multiple hours every day, and plan to continue doing so. I do work a full-time job, my hours usually ranging from 9-6pm EST on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I work 2 Saturdays a month, and on those days I get home around 3pm. Due to also being on volleyball and in a club, I have to be on frequently to also roleplay and practice/ participate in club activities. I try to be on a couple of hours daily for that reason.
I’m most active throughout the night, which I have noticed is a time that EMS staff isn’t as common, which also might be a good thing if I am accepted. I try to be on at least 3-4 hours when I do have work, and a lot more when I’m off. Whenever I am not working, I will usually be active and online, readily available to get online if needed. Below is a table of my weekly schedule;
SUN ✦ | MON ✦ | TUES ✦ | WED ✦ | THURS ✦ | FRI ✦ | SAT ✦ |
I’m off this day! Unless if I’m doing something personal, I’m free and active all day long. | Start work at 8:45 - get home at around 6:30-7pm. What experiences do you have with roleplay?:
My experience with roleplay goes way back to 2017. My love for roleplay originated on a different server, but on Minecraft nonetheless. It was where I did most of my roleplay until that server died and I discovered this one, leading me to join quite a couple of years back. I probably played for around a month or two before taking a break from Minecraft overall.
Coming back recently has been different. It’s been a whole new learning process, especially with all of the changes on SRP. I slowly began to make new friends, create a new character, and get back into the roleplay scene. As months have passed, I’ve gotten more in-depth as I’ve gotten more active, joining sports teams and clubs, where I meet new people and make new bonds I wouldn’t trade for anything else. Roleplaying constantly has made me understand how to develop the depth of characters and detail responses to really give an immersive experience. I love it and have really grown to love the server overall.

What is your motivation for applying?
Since returning to SRP, I’ve always been interested in the factions. Getting in-depth with roleplay and creating a character that has the ability to deeply roleplay and interact with so many different people daily is a major goal of mine. The EMS faction has always been on my mind, even though my confidence has been extremely low about applying for the role. I have finally decided to apply, with the confidence that I finally have enough experience and motivation to be able to bring the roleplay that is worthy of the EMS faction. I believe being here will keep me even more motivated to keep playing as well as learn more about the factions and how to develop a character through roleplaying.
EMS will keep me motivated to expand my experience with the factions and also work as my kickstarter to becoming more involved in the deeper aspects of SRP overall. I have aspirations of wanting to participate and have roles in many different factions, and at least experience each and every one of them at least once throughout my time on SRP.
Which role are you applying for?
I am applying for the Doctor role.

What knowledge do you have of the roles within the Hospital Faction?
Hospital Ranks
Trainee | The trainees are the lowest ranking and the newest members of the hospital staff. They usually use this rank to learn about their respective role, where they are supervised until they are capable of being on their own. |
Dr. & Psych Resident | A Psych resident is a graduate who is training to become a Psychiatrist. They work under the hospital's supervision to learn how to efficiently and correctly work in their studied role as a Psychiatrist. A Doctor resident is in the same line as the Psych resident, a graduate who is training under the Hospital to learn how to correctly and efficiently do their job. |
Attending Drs. & Psychs | Attending Doctors and Psychiatrists are roles that are fully licensed and acquire the proper experience and training to be a fully working Doctor or Psychiatrist. They are the most trusted roles with occupants of the Hospital, and the most relied on for medical care. |
Clinical Lead & Chief Paramedic | The Clinical Lead is climbing the ranks of the Hospital, typically managing a specific department within the hospital. They oversee all, ensuring every patient is taken care of efficiently, expertly, and with care. |
Director | The Director is the highest role achievable, the head of the faction and the hospital. They oversee all of the hospital, control the meetings, make decisions, and make major changes. |
Hospital Departments
Doctor | Paramedic | Psychiatrist |
Doctors are the heart of the hospital. They are what make the hospital function, work, and, honestly, have the ability to save the lives they do. These people have studied extensively through many years of medical school, medical training, as well as taken exams for multiple different licenses to be able to physically practice all of the knowledge they have acquired until today. They are able to handle equipment, treat patients’ injuries, diagnose them, and even handle mortuary procedures. | Paramedics are the “remote” team of the Hospital. They handle working both in and outside of the hospital. They can respond to calls, go on patrols, and work mainly to get the patient to safety. If a paramedic is called upon, their main role is to make sure the patient is stable, breathing, and okay for transfer to the Hospital for the doctors to complete full assessments. | Psychiatrists are the brains of the Hospital, specialising in neurology and understanding how the brain works. They can diagnose mental health issues, help patients handle them, and explain how the diagnosis can affect the patient. They are licensed and experienced in the study of human behaviour, as well as having the ability to understand the thoughts of different humans. |

Character Backstory (Optional):
February 2nd, 1981. Tokyo, Japan. The wind was crisp, carrying a bite no one dared to face at the likes of 3 in the morning. A soft exhale came first, then a gentle cry. It wasn’t loud and restless, like other children. It was soft, almost like a gasp for air once the cold front met the heat of the newborn’s skin. At the first sight of her eyes, her parents were amazed, then worry sank deep into their bones. Staring at the soft contrasts of Blue and Brown, the doctor's comment of slight blindness was the only thing they could think about. Her soft cheeks pouted and were scattered with gentle birthmarks and freckles, some identical from both her mother and father.
“Kanoko” was the name they settled on, meaning ‘fawn.’
Was it because they knew she would turn out this way? Be perceived as something so small and fragile that it could be broken with a small pressure from the heel of their foot, so misunderstood and judged too hard for her young mind to handle the relentless comments of her peers throughout her childhood? But her parents loved her. That’s what mattered, right? Father is a surgeon, Mother is a Hotel manager; both jobs that required them to never see the light of day, and the breaking distance between themselves and their own child. Sure, Kanoko’s life was full of expensive gifts for her birthday, phones, cars, and access to the most prestigious schools, but nothing could ever fit the shadow her parents held in her slowly emptying heart.
Pushing up her glasses as she navigated the halls of her primary school, avoiding chatter or just people in general. She knew the exact meter she should keep away in order not to be recognised, to be their recurring target of the day. This was routine by now. Avoiding everyone, not daring to utter a single word in classes, or to anyone else but herself. To keep her mind focused on her studies and her studies only, because maybe, just maybe, if she was good enough, her parents would come home. She wouldn't be stuck with her grandparents constantly, living under their care or with servants from their own home. It’s like she was being passed through families, discarded when she wasn't wanted anymore.
Her grandparents were her closest family members, people she held near and dear to her heart. The only ones who got her to take her eyes off a book to take a bite of some food, or gain any sort of sustenance other than intelligence from reading. She loved her Grandparents, of course, she did. She was so family-oriented that she couldn’t feel anything but love for her family, no matter how heart-wrenching it was. However, all she wanted was to get her parents’ attention.
So she worked hard. She completed primary school with honours, top of her class. In secondary school, she took multiple Advanced Placement classes, joined clubs, and even pushed herself to become proficient in some type of instrument. She chose the Violin, learning to play it expertly. By the time she was in grade 12, she was in the Student Council, playing the violin in her music club, singing, and was the salutatorian.
But nothing could replace the hole in her heart. Not the books, not the soft chime of the violin mixed with the sweet melody of Kanoko’s voice. Not even her straight A’s.
Kanoko’s parents were never around. Whether they had a choice or not, she would never know. Her grandparents would always say they’re working or on work trips, but even they themselves don't believe it. She often finds herself sitting at her bay window, looking out at the city lights as she awaits her parents’ return. However, the only time she would see them was briefly during holidays, her birthday, or at school conferences.
If she did wrong, they would be there to reprimand her.
Were they there to be proud? No. Be happy to see her? No. They were there to be strict. To keep their ‘perfect’ trophy daughter in line, and break down every inch of self-confidence and love she ever felt from anyone but her grandparents. They would come and go until she reached Grade 12, and on her 18th birthday, they began sending letters. No more showing up, no more comments. Just cards on holidays, money on birthdays, and heartless and false words of affirmation on coffee-stained paper.

What is your character’s medical speciality? Why did they choose this focus?
In Grade-12, her grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma (brain cancer), which was the worst heartbreak of her life. Watching her grandmother go through treatments, sitting by her side, and as she turned 18, beginning to take care of her was a huge weight on her shoulders. Her grandfather was already very old himself and barely able to take care of himself, let alone his wife suffering from cancer. Upon her grandmother and grandfather’s sad deaths, she promised herself one thing: she would make them proud, make herself proud by working towards a cure. So after graduating from high school, Konako attended the University of Tokyo, where she majored in Neuroscience and minored in Biomedical Engineering.
She studied as hard as she could, and without so much weight on her shoulders, she began to let herself actually live. She no longer felt the weight of her parents' eyes on her shoulders. No longer longed for the affection and love from them. And now, as sad as it was, she didn't have to care for her grandparents anymore, constantly being at home, at their bedside, and isolated. She began to put herself out there, talking more, making friends, and finding love.
It was a sunny day when Kanoko was walking down the campus courtyard, her glasses slightly shifted diagonally across her face, and post-it notes were scattered around the binder she was flipping through. She was engrossed in her notes, frantically cramming some last-minute studying into her morning before she took her final for her Biology course. Her shoulder swiped another woman’s, her notes scattering to the ground along with the other woman's. A frantic motion of picking up papers, and the constant repeated apologies from Kanoko, were a complete contrast to the light chuckle of a response from Se-na.
Only until later that night did Kanoko notice she had completely swapped their notes, and currently had notes for cardiology instead of neurobiology. And… their relationship was a field blossoming in spring. Kanoko felt.. Appreciated. Like she could live without the weight. Se-na were her wings that let her take flight, that steered her to the light.
Even though Medschool had its challenges, and it was one of the most difficult portions of her life, she did it with Se-na. They were attached at the hip. Whatever they did, it was together. Despite being in different majors, they both spent a lot of time together, working on projects, papers, and studying together to help each other pull through med school. They were both introverted, but Se-na turned Kanoko into a total extrovert. She blossomed into a beautiful flower with a bubbly and happy personality. Sure, she has her moments where her anxiety can really take hold of her and overpower her, but Se-na always knew how to be calm in her storm.

Does your character have any work experience in medical positions?
Graduating from medical school at the prime age of 25 was a breath of fresh air Kanoko didn't even know she was holding in. The late-night studies are gone, but now replaced with early mornings, 12-hour shifts, and constant exposure to medical work and commitment. For real this time. But she has Se-na by her side, so of course she could do it. They could do anything together.
After graduating from the University of Tokyo, they officially began residency in the hospital district, working there full-time instead of mostly taking classes. Things were quite the adjustment, going from 20 years of elite schooling and honours to….. Well.. work. It wasn’t as hard as she thought it would be. The adjustment at least. She already knew all of the basics of medical practices; she just… had to put it in action.
Around 2 years in, she met someone.. Fell in love, and… you know.. Got married and had a child. Around the same time, she was juggling raising a child and working long hours at the hospital; it was one of the biggest challenges. She felt like she was turning into her own parents and failing herself, and more importantly, her child. She tried to be there for her child and husband, but their relationship was very strained, always running for work, always burying herself deep into her studies to hide from looking at her own mother when she looked in the mirror. That eventually led to a divorce. Jiu-li, her daughter, was 4 when it happened. It was a hard decision, but everything was civil. Kanoko and her father just didn't work out, yet he still let her keep the last name. . . more like a separation, minus all of the formalities. Se-na was also going through a divorce, and both of the girls decided it was time for a break.
They both moved to Seoul, Korea. They wanted more opportunities and a fresh start after the constant weight on their shoulders. They both received positions at Asan Medical Center, and began officially working as doctors. The transition was more difficult for Kanoko than it was for Se-na, because having to learn a whole new language on top of re-learning medical terminology and whatnot was basically a whole school re-do. But, after another year and a half, despite the struggles she pulled through, becoming fluent in Korean and happy in her life.
They recently decided to move to Karakura to start their new journey together. Kanoko mostly came to rekindle her faded relationship with her daughter, hoping to become more involved in her life and for some sort of bond. Kanoko and Se-na both decided to apply to Karakura Hospital to make a difference here as doctors!

Describe your character; how do they look, what makes them unique? How would they be perceived by others?
A soft click of heels echoed through the halls as Kanoko rounded the corner, her long, deep purple hair curtained gently down her shoulders and back. Her scent entered first, a soft mix of floral and sugary, filling your nose. Something not too abundant, but drawing. Her presence was welcoming and gentle, her heterochromia meeting you, one blue eye, one brown, two colors so contrasted but so perfectly matched with one another. Her well-cared-for fingers gently slid up the bridge of her nose, pushing up her glasses to rest perfectly on the bridge of her nose. She always had a gentle smile on her face, something so professional but caring. Her outfit was professional, and her posture was professional and straight. Hands folded in front of her, eyes always glued to the topic, always attentive and ready to listen and learn.

How does your character act around the hospital?
Though often quiet, Kanoko is mostly seen as quite an approachable person. Being quite kind and welcoming to others around her, despite her introverted look. She’s someone who’s always seen smiling, waving, and greeting her fellow co-workers around the hospital. However, she might not be too keen on approaching first. She’ll happily contribute and finish a conversation once the hard part of the approach is over! You’ll often see Kanoko busying herself with some sort of task around the hospital, keeping her mind away from dormant thoughts. She likes to stay moving, always prepared and ready for the next thing.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ━━━━⊱༒︎ • ༒︎⊰━━━━ ⋆⁺₊⋆
Does your character function better on their own or with others?
Kanoko is either caught alone or by the side of Se-na. They’re attached at the hip, and without her, Kanoko feels like a wild animal re-released into the wild. She doesn’t know much of how to function socially. However, when it comes to work, she’s constantly determined and hardworking, busying herself with tasks that need to be completed around the hospital. She doesn’t mind working around the side of others, helping out when it is needed, and giving space when she catches that type of vibe. Though she seems to keep a professional forefront and calm demeanour, large crowds and loud noises can seem to disturb her deeply.
