'The definition of pride is a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired.'

INTRODUCTION
‘Hello winners, my name is Wichai Wattanakul and considering that it is currently pride month, I thought it would only be fitting to talk about the pride of the students and faculty at Karakura high school and college. In order to get a proper evaluation, I have interviewed over twenty students and faculty in total. However, I will not share every single interview today, only the ones I deemed most important for my research. Given that this is my first article, it will not be a super long one. But, I do have more in the works. Stay tuned for that . . And, have a fun read!’
GENERAL INFORMATION
‘Pride 'quite literally means, ‘the quality or state of being proud’, and is also known as a sin in some cultures. Pride can serve a negative and a positive meaning in many stories. However, it is also a feeling of honour and self-respect; a sense of personal worth that every person has for themselves or others. During my research, I have gathered that a lot of people draw pride to their team, if they are on one, or to any other school function they may be in. Only a few others stated they were proud about the person they had become, or that they were proud of their families. This was a surprising result to me personally. I have also gathered that over sixty percent of the students feel pride comes from teamwork rather than yourself alone. It has also been brought to my attention that people tend to care more about their image, rather than their own goals. Perhaps this is something that needs to change? Finally, one thing I found very refreshing to see was that nobody was ashamed of their cultures or background. Everyone I had spoken to was open, and willing to share about their own stories with me for the sake of this report.’

⤷ D.L : ‘What am I proud of.. There are many things I am proud of, but if I could mention one thing, it would be my achievements here in Karakura so far! Part of my achievements and goals here is what makes me happy as well, that is tailoring pieces of clothing for other people, and being able to show off new outfits in seasonal magazines.’
W.W : ‘What are your goals? What do you want to achieve in life?’
⤷ D.L : ‘I would say that I somewhat reached my goal.. That is being able to create outfits that make people feel confident, which consists of being remembered for what I do.. That is mostly my goal, it is nothing special.’
W.W : ‘Finally - What would you like to say to people that want to give up on their goals?’
⤷ D.L : ‘The first stitch is rarely ever perfect, so is your second one.. You learn and try again many times to take small steps into the path you are wanting to create, even if it’s full of obstacles! So wanting to give up on your dream is letting yourself miss the chance of creating your future.’

W.W : ‘What are you proud of? What is something that makes you happy?’
⤷ M.M : ‘Ah, that would mostly resonate around my job as a school counselor, which might seem sad to some people, how could I not be proud of anything else? Well, to be straight with you, most of what I am proud of isn't visible on paper. However, I am proud of the students who always come up to me during school hours, who eventually found their footing again. It makes me feel proud of the job I have kept here that is extremely useful to other people who are in need of it. I am also proud.. of the consistency I have maintained, while continuing my job with care, patience, and responsibility. In general, I am proud that I never gave up on trying to understand and help others. That is enough for me.’
W.W : ‘What are your goals? What do you want to achieve in life?’
⤷ M.M : ‘Well.. My goal is to be a reliable and trusted school counselor who students can approach without fear or hesitation.’
W.W : ‘Finally - What would you like to say to people that want to give up on their goals?’
⤷ M.M : ‘There will be exhausting days where your dreams may feel unnecessary or too far. On those specific days, it's okay to rest. However, don't confuse rest with the end of your ability.’

CONCLUSION
‘Do not let other people make things hard for you, or ruin what you intend to achieve. Never be ashamed of who you are, and chase after the things that you want in life. It is important to set your own goals, and do what YOU want to do with your life. You only have one, and you need to spend it with no regrets! And when in doubt? Simply talk to someone, the counselors office at the school would be a good example to go to to set academic goals for yourself, if you are a student. Or maybe starting small will help you get closer to your dreams? Either way, you should do what you want to do, and feel your own pride, at your own pace. Oh! And by the way! The song of today’s article is ‘DO IT’ by the k-pop group Stray Kids. Enjoy pride month, and mens mental-health month. That’s all for me today, Wichai Wattanakul - OUT!’
