Why are Teachers so important to SchoolRP?:
I think Teachers add an extra layer of immersion to the roleplay of SRP for high school students, and with teachers that have classes that are not only engaging but also fun-allows for students to want to actually participate and have fun in school. They serve as authoritarian figures that enforce the rules when things go wrong. Teachers are also obviously important to roleplay so that students can progress from Highschool to College, and teachers are often one of the first people you think of, aside from a parent or guardian who you can trust in times of need if done right... Not to mention the teachers in SRP are also just as important (if not almost more so) as the students. You can't have a school roleplay without any teachers? Overall, it just adds to the atmosphere. Potential student teacher dynamics, staff interaction with other school employees, and so forth.
₊˚ ౨ৎ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ౨ৎ ˚₊
Do you acknowledge that if you are inactive you may lose your role?: Yes
Do you agree to undergo teacher training if your application is successful?: Yes
₊˚ ౨ৎ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ౨ৎ ˚₊
What is your motivation for becoming a Teacher?: I'd say a few reasons, for the first one. It's because I've felt that I've leaned a lot more towards more interactive roleplays as of recently—I like to get into detail and story. And I think being a Teacher would be nice, not only because I get to experience an entirely different side of SRP—but because I think, since a large percentage of the server is circled around the school environment. I'll be able to have a lot more fun if I had a teacher character engaging with students and staff in the like

my second reason is because I have a lot of ideas for this role—as I am an artist myself, and have been for quite some time. I've got lots of ideas for this faction that I think would make for fun classes and experiences for students who join—I also just enjoyed a lot of my early days in SRP in this subject, because when I first joined again a lot of my classes consisted of Art. And I always found myself having the most fun in those classes (If Moriel wasn't also hosting at the time anyway) and the few teachers who also hosted those classes always made for the experience to be just that much more fun. And I think, possibly. I can bring that to the table myself.

Three would be because I think I just want to have even more fun with this, and reach out more in terms of the community. Despite my life getting a little busier than I expected out of nowhere—I must admit, I have lots of fun in SRP and am always looking for something to help me spice up my experience just a little more so that I can have even MORE fun with my friends and people I meet along the way even.

Overall I think being in the teacher faction would just be fun, and doing something as interesting and as vast as the subject of art is really something that just pique's my interest and kinda encourages me to want to commit myself to it even more since it's something that i'm familiar with.

Genkei's ID.png
What's your character's full name?:

Dominique, after entering the room. He would set down an ID card. His facial expression had matched the one on the card—stoic, and unmoving. "Dominique Maxence Walker..." The man would speak calm and calculated, before he would then break his character. A warm smile upon his face as he would then say "But you can call me Dominique, it's a pleasure to be here" He continued after, his demeanor completely changing from before to a more approachable and friendly one.

What is your character's age?:
"My age? Is it not a bit rude to ask of someone's age...?" He would question, a playful brow raise before he'd snicker "I kid... I'm 54... But who's counting?"

What is your preferred subject to teach?: Art

Describe your character:

The older gentleman sitting across the desk began to fix his collar, then his blue and gold tie, and finally adjusting the watch around his wrist before covering it again with his sleeve. You'd be met with a man who stood at a staggering 6'10. Despite being in his 50s, he didn't look all that old? Even with his silver hair, which funnily enough. Hadn't come with his age, but was always apart of him. Being born with natural silver hair his into life with soft coils. He looked put together, classy, and quite lively for his age. His soft curls slicked back with a single stray curl in the front, some hair on the side that looked intentionally pulled from the slicked back hair. And a scar on the left of his head. His eyebrows were full and matched the color of his hair—though his left was cut, a scar on the edge of his brow. And on the same side of his face, a scar along his left eye. Leaving him partially blind in that one—eyebags and dark circles under his pale blue eyes which looked back at the interviewer, not tired, but aged. And lastly, a mole. Right on the left corner of his top lip. Wearing a knit beige sweater and a collard shirt underneath—was he hot under those layers? Waist high wide cut slacks with brown boots underneath, his Blue and Gold tie accented all the neutral colors. And underneath his right sleeve lay a black watch wrapped around his wrist.

He seemed like a stoic type at first—but after getting to speak, he seemed like his neutral state was just a chronic case of RBF. Something he never seemed to be aware of either? As the older man had always pictured himself as a jolly and merry type of person, even if he were to look at himself in the mirror. He'd automatically smile... It was something he liked about himself especially, despite all his troubles in life and what he's gone through and seen—he still sort of maintained being a kind hearted person, with a gentle soul.

"Something I'd say that makes me want to do this job the most is connecting with the youth... Back in the states, I was the Captain at this police station I had worked at for almost 30 years... I'd seen a lot—heard a lot... Been through a lot, even." The older man would reminisce, a gentle chuckle would leave him as he folded his hands together, inhaling.

Thinking for a moment, the man would then exhale and continue. "I got into the force shortly after college. After getting my degree in the arts—I figured I had nothing to do afterwards. I wanted to do something more with my life? I mean, I knew that I always had a... A knack for painting. It was always something that gave me some sort of... Peace in my life, as where I lived was never all that 'peaceful' if you understand my meaning... So, I figured. Why not give back to the community I loved? Especially seeing many of the people that I loved and cared for were so... Young. Doing things and—resorting to the very bottom of the barrel just to make ends meet? It broke me, especially being someone who was lucky enough to not have to do that... I wanted to make a change." Dominique would hum "It was a nice run, I'd say. But I had seen... A lot" He crossed his arms

"I got into painting again somewhere along the road—I'd say... Shortly after becoming Captain I started painting again, so. I was about 34 or 36 at the time, give or take... And, hah... It just brought me back I suppose?" He had a gentle smile on his face "I started up this little community get together every other week, where I'd bring in kids and families to try art.... Anything art, really. But it started with the basics... Drawin' on pen and paper, arts n' crafts. All that stuff. We did it, then we got more to have more projects... And next thing I knew? 6 years later we're lettin' in the big wigs. Artists from all around coming in to see what we had going on... It was a big community thing, and... God... It was amazing." Walker closed his eyes at the memory, wiping his eye with the ball of his index finger

"Shortly after I decided to leave the force when I was 46 I had decided to take up the task in teaching... Sooo, I went through the process. You know the deal... Did some teaching preparation classes, passed the exams with absolutely flying colors... And then I worked at the local school in my neighborhood for a couple years... And, ah. I guess once I figured my work was done there I came here!" Dominique would explain, folding his hands together as he'd sigh, chuckling "I've been told that I've done far too much in my life over the past few years, but... I can't help but to move around and do as much as I can to help those around me. My community and—I guess, in a broader sense. Feel like I'm contributing to the world... I manifest every day about things like this. I pray, I do everything I can to ensure the places I will be in are helped and that my job is done, so... This city? Isn't exempt from my plans" Dominique snickered "I do love teaching, though. Back even when I was Captain, helping new officers, detectives, chiefs... Even the person who took my place, I taught them everything up until I finally finished my courses and got a job in a school. I'm good at those things."

"What I want to do for the future? Is to do what I did back then. Show kids all the things you can do with art. How you can express yourself through different mediums... How life brings art to you, and how you can do so much more than just be what society thinks of you... You know? That's what I want for this generation. I want kids to know they're not alone. That they're heard, and that through doing art... Of any form. You can make a difference for you, for your friends and family, and for your community....... Does that make sense?" Dominique would chuckle raspily "I really enjoy this topic, it's truly something I find interesting."

A student in class is struggling to understand the content, what would your character do?:
Dominique walked down the classroom, getting looks at what the students were doing with their assignments. The assignment in question? They make friendship bracelet's! A simple task, he assumed anyway. Something short, fun, and sweet. Each table had beads, macaroni, string, tassels—any and everything you'd need to make a decently made friendship bracelet. While walking down the class, Walker came across a student who seemed to be struggling. He stopped in his tracks and looked over their work as they silently fidgeted around with the twine in their hand- not quite figuring out what had went wrong with their bracelet. But Dominique had already seen what was wrong, the knots they were tying were all coming out asymmetrical—there was no rhyme or reason behind the patterns they were attempting to make while weaving, which is what the student had decided to make with their bracelet, opting out of the beaded ones some were making. They wanted to make a weaved one, but was failing. Dominique placed a hand on the desk and smiled at the student "Would you like a pointer?" He questioned, then grabbing a few pieces of string himself "It's a simple up and over, like braiding... Have you ever done that before?" He questioned, then began to slowly weave the string beside the student to show them. Noticing that they were attempting to make a star pattern—he began to do exactly that, weaving all the pieces of fabric up and over one another in the star pattern they were attempting to do. He then finished off the design by tying the ends thinly on both parts. And holding up the bracelet. Afterwards, he placed it aside, and placed a few pieces of twine up and over each other like the pattern he had made—Or, well. Similarly, anyway. "Here's how it's done... Do you get it?" He asked, tilting his head. And once he got his answer, he smiled with a nod "Don't be afraid to call for help if you need it, okay?" He assured the student, patting the back of their chair before coming to a stand and walking around the classroom yet again to look over the students and their work.

A student is continuously being disruptive in class, talking out of turn, and making jokes with classmates. What would your character do?:
Walker immediately turned his attention to the student that made an outburst in the middle of his speaking. Raising a brow at the culprit. Dominique cleared his throat and called out the student that made the outburst "This is your first warning to quiet down, please don't interrupt the classroom" He said in a very stern voice—then clapping his hands loudly "Please if you need anything to be said, raise your hands first and I may let you speak or ask any questions you may have—" Dominique explained, though being cut off again by the same student. He called their name again, and motioned for them to come to the front "This is your second warning not to speak again, I want you to sit in the front of the classroom. Failure to do so will lead you to leaving the class, do I make myself clear?" Dominique would warn yet again. He had no tolerance for misbehavior—he was FAR too old for anyone to try and make a fool of themself for a few laughs in class just to be held up in detention at the end of the school day or miss an entire class for the same reason. He motioned to the seat, eyeing them as they went to make their seat. Breathing through his nose as he watched them sit. He took a moment to continue. Before beginning to speak again. "I hope we can continue this class with no further disruptions... I won't allow for another outburst again, so if anyone else does so. You get one warning, then you're out." He nodded his head, then after a moment. He began to continue his class.

Provide at least 2 interactive class ideas related to your preferred subject:
Extra Credit
is given to those who seem to be there for both the immersion and the class itself, interacting is key to being a teacher. I also think it's necessary to add the ways in which I would implement it myself
Class Length:
Most of these classes I want to last at least 2-3 periods to cover more basis and to have a good amount at least of class interaction with students and such, especially things like Field Trips and such. Classes like Moving Pictures would never be able to be done in one sitting, and would need at most probably 3 periods to complete. Though with what I have in mind for class interaction—that being games, video watching and ****ysis, classroom participation and so on. It will be worth lasting more than just 1 class.
₊˚ ౨ৎ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ౨ৎ ˚₊
CERAMICS
A class based around the art of Ceramics, the history of it, and how to do it yourself! And the class would have homework based around what the students will learn in the class. Walker sets the class up in the basic class rooms first, the first class is about the history of the art itself. Where it began and how it started. Early ceramic artifacts, the difference between Pottery and Ceramics, and then a second class being held for the students to make Pottery themselves with Potters set up in the Art Studio and making vases, cups, bowls, plates, or whatever else they see fit in making!
Extra Credit: Will be given to students who are able to interact the most in this class
₊˚ ౨ৎ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ౨ৎ ˚₊
MOVING PICTURES
A class that circles around the art of animation. Where it started, and where it is now. Watching videos of old animations from way back when, and then specifically getting into clay animation. The clay animation bit is extremely important for this class because afterwards, the students will be asked to work in pairs of 3 or 4 and make a animation themselves with the things given to them. Clay, aluminum foil, Legos, and lots and lots of cardboard. This class is meant to be very interactive as students are made to make little animated figurines after watching bits of animated shorts put together. Then to make animations and show them off to the class before it ends, likely lasting about 2 class periods (would probably be done in 4th period since it's the longest time wise) also homework for this.
Extra Credit: Will be given to the student with the most interactive or interesting/out of the box short
₊˚ ౨ৎ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ౨ৎ ˚₊
LIFE ON THE CANVAS
Students are made to bring canvas', easels, cups, and paint brushes to go outside and sit in the middle of the court yard and paint the things they see—whether it's a butterfly on the leaf of a bush, a standing tree, someone who walks past, or the sky. Everyone brings outside something to draw with and make art of it. By the end of this class, students will be asked how the experience made them feel before and after. This class is specifically made to decompress the students and allow them to take a moment and relax while enjoying the life around them as it passes by.
Extra Credit: Given the the student with the most emotionally charged painting/response
₊˚ ౨ৎ ━━━━⊱⋆⊰━━━━ ౨ৎ ˚₊
SAND CASTLES: FIELD TRIP
A class based around looking into the history of making sand castles, also made as a fun trip to go to the beach and make sand castles in the sun. The students are made to do whatever they want with tools that are brought with them from Dominique himself, students will work in teams or solo if wanted. Discussing amongst one another how something so simple yet thera-peutic could have been made up, why it's so fun, and how beaches also serve as major parts in our life and such.
Extra Credit: The students with the largest castles gets extra cred (Roll based, to make it 100% chance)
