Throughout the three years I have been playing on the server, my activity remains practically the same with me being consistently online at least eight hours daily. Yes, that sounds like a lot, but somehow it isn’t an exaggeration..! While my attention is divided between multiple accounts and characters, being online for so long each day allows for me to give a good amount of time to each one with ease, especially since I can run two or more accounts at the same time. The timeframe that I’m online for each day can be quite random, though I still find myself being on for a good portion of when the server is at its peak player count, all the way to even when it's time for the daily restart. Being around at various times helps me get even more involved with people outside of my time zone on each and every one of my characters in one way or another.
I’m currently most active on my football tag as teams do require a lot of attention, and this is where I find the majority of roleplay between a wide range of people. Whether it’s other team members, or someone I don’t know who’s looking to learn the plugin, I’ve had plenty of interactions with this character and plan to have many more. The character I plan to make my shopkeeper was previously on my detective tag, so reintroducing them in this new role is something I am excited about doing. They’ve naturally had quite the horrific experience in Karakura, and with how much I am online each day I have plans to flush this character out some more.

Why do you want to become a Shopkeeper?:
The shop faction is one of the groupings on SRP that I’ve been familiar with for a very, very long time now. Once I started playing a more active role in the community well over two years ago now, I found myself applying and getting accepted into numerous shops as a basic employee, enjoying the varying environments that each different shop hosted. Across all the shops I have had the privilege of experiencing, it’s safe to say that Okinasa was my favorite. Okinasa was one of the first shops I was accepted into, and the first I became manager in. As its previous owner found themselves busy, I frequently opened and assisted with figuring out stocking needs, employee issues, and handled random in-character mishaps that occurred. Truthfully, each opening had its own few people that came in causing some sort of hassle, but that was sort of the appeal of Okinasa and what I personally loved about the store.
I knew that Okinasa’s time with the previous owner was coming to an end, but the place kept on chugging along for as long as it could. I don’t wish for Okinasa to be gone completely, so my motivation towards becoming a Shopkeeper is for the hectic yet comforting shop to continue running in a reformed manner, allowing those in need of quick and easy shopping to continue to have the place to go for their basic needs and wants. With the opportunity to bring Okinasa back, I’m thankfully in the position to be able to fund new items for the shop and fulfill the comforting vibe that I wish for it to carry out with. While it may seem somewhat silly to have such a passion to keep this specific shop around, Okinasa has truly left its mark on me, and I really would love the chance to share that with others.
One final bit of ramble to give insight of what’s driving me to want to become a Shopkeeper is giving opportunities to more people. There’s many who apply to be an employee to different shops, yet there always seems to be the same few people who find themselves filling the positions. With Okinasa’s return, I want to ensure that this isn’t completely the case, and rather offer positions to those who truly are looking for something new and wanting to be a part of the store - not just some extra yen at the end of the day. It’s the unpredictable people that has always made Okinasa so great and comforting, so it’s only right to make those people part of the centerpiece.

What do you plan to do with your shop, and what makes it unique?:
The shop’s name, Okinasa, is taken from the Japanese term Okaerinasai which means ‘welcome home’ - Okinasa has always had a certain type of charm, one that encourages customers to feel at home upon entry and throughout their entire shopping experience. Part of the convenience of shopping at Okinasa included the multitude of homely items, things that could be placed around in any theme of space someone would want. Tying into what Okinasa is all about, a mascot is being introduced to the store: Kuishinbo the Tanuki! These animals are known in Japanese folklore to bring good luck through eight specific traits, and statues of them are commonly placed outside shops to bring good luck, wealth, and success. With their friendly smiles, they can also be quite tricksters and have quite the personality to them. The reasoning behind Kuishinbo’s name is that it’s a direct Japanese term for being a foodie, which only seems right for how he’s representing a store full of quick to grab snacks.

- Food Court -
Leaning towards the comfort side of convenience and what Okinasa has to offer, one of the improvements made would be something along the lines of a food court area. This spot of the store would be designated for people to sit around, enjoy a quick meal or even just a coffee, and basic appliances would be available for public use to heat up whatever they’ve bought. Customers could chat with those they came with or even meet someone new, or even take interest in the plenty of reading material left around since talking while eating isn’t everyone’s style! This area would be open 24/7, available for use whenever people want.

- Delivery Services -
A pretty simple idea that was never carried out before, but it works in perfectly with the sense of convenience; A delivery service! The plan for carrying this out would be to put a phone number in the advert, most likely my own as the shopkeeper, where I would ask for any orders to be texted so that multiple could be managed at the same time if needed. From there, a designated worker would be informed of what to grab and where to go, and then they would simply go and deliver it.
Since there would likely be fewer deliveries than how many orders a typical cashier would make, this worker would be offered a pay dependent on the overall business of the store for the shift they worked alongside whatever they made from collecting delivery payments. To make it easier for the majority of people, Okinasa’s full catalog will be posted on discord including the price of each item, so that they can view and decide what they want to buy with ease rather than going through the hassle of asking to see what an item looks like.

- Kuishinbo’s Wheel of Fortune -
If someone’s full order comes out to a total of 400,000 yen or more, they’ll be given the opportunity to spin Kuishinbo’s Wheel for an opportunity to save some yen! The customer would be instructed to roll out of 20, where anything 1-10 would reward them with... Nothing! If they roll 11-15, they’ll get a 5% discount, 16-18 would be 10%, and finally 19-20 would allow them a whole 20% off their order. This list, alongside a wheel of sorts that could be actioned to be spun, would be written down visible for all customers near the registers to ensure they don’t get scammed from their chances of a discount.

- Holiday Themes -
One of my favorite things is being able to decorate an area to suit an upcoming holiday, which is something I often did in Okinasa as a manager. With the opportunity to again, each major holiday would be celebrated within the store with decorations and discounts up and coming. Customers would be encouraged to show off their holiday spirits, people who dress up to suit the occasion being granted the chance to spin Kuishinbo’s Wheel even if they don’t spend the required yen. For larger holidays such as Halloween and Christmas, there would potentially be costume contests hosted within the store, and any winner would be prized with a free item of their choosing. The whole idea with this is to get anyone and everyone involved with the festive seasons, of course with the incentive of some prizes! Who wouldn’t want to participate in saving their wallet from feeling lighter?

- Uniforms -
Rather than forcing all employees into a full get-up for a simple convenience store gig, all that is going to be asked of them is to put on this super cool and awesome apron that shows off Okinasa’s colors! More accessories will come in the future such as a hat, beanie, and whatever other article of clothing might be requested. For the meantime, employees can slip this apron on top of whatever outfit they desire.





What will you sell in your shop?:
Some of Okinasa’s most popular items were those that suited the ‘welcome home’ vibe pretty well, things such as the magazine pile and two variations of snack displays. These three items would be brought back, and I plan to get new custom items that stick to Okinasa’s comforting front though that have enough differentiation from current stock that would draw more people in, a hope to get something that suits everyone while still being something fresh to Karakura’s homes. These new items would range from more snack and magazine-like piles to newer room decor, things such as lava lamps, radios, books, and so on. I would like these new items to have more of a cluttered at-home feeling to them and lean towards things that the students of Karakura would realistically have and need to get through their school days, seeing how the majority of the population are in fact working on their education!
Other simple items that I would like to bring back to Okinasa, and get more similar to them, would be umbrellas, basic smart phones and flip phones, bags, random hats, and so on. I understand that it has gotten stricter regarding the theme of which items shops are allowed to sell now, and that previously there were quite some random things in Okinasa’s stock such as the pink vanity and hanging electric guitar. If it’s possible for me to continue these sales, great! If not, that’s okay! Either way, I have plans to get new items, and I will make sure with the shop lead that everything planned will be allowed to be sold.

With the hope to keep the majority of the same items that Okinasa once sold, I would like to continue selling basic ingredients, simple prepared food items, and sweets such as different bakeable doughs, bento boxes, dango sticks, milkshakes, fruits, ice-cream, and so much more that could be enjoyed inside the store itself if that’s what customers so please alongside essential cooking items like frying pans and spatulas. Even though most grocery items can now be found in the market hall, I would sell them at a somewhat lower price, alongside making sure any ingredient not available elsewhere is for sale here! Convenient, right? And while the majority of these food items were actually able to be eaten, I would like to get some new things similar to the sandwich ‘strawberries’ item that could be worn to look like it was held in the mouth. Some ideas regarding that would be things such as an egg sandwich, onigiris, ramune, and yakitori.


How many employees do you plan to have?:
An issue Okinasa faced while running was how there were a bunch of employees who didn’t often get the opportunity to work, or didn't even bother to try and show up to a shift for months on end. Previously its roster held up to 26 people! Because of this, Okinasa’s new roster would be better suited to stay on the smaller side so that I can better witness the activity across the people brought in to work. This time around, the roster will be capped at around 18 people, including myself. Of that, I would likely have two manager positions, meaning there are 15 normal employees. Each shift will bring in three employees, two of which as cashiers and one for handling deliveries.
TLDR; Owner -> 2 Managers -> 15 Employees. 18 total. Ok? Yay
