Barnaby Montgomery was born on August 20th, 2001 in York, England. Barnaby was born in England with his mother, his father, James was self employed in Australia and lived there at the time as Barnaby's parents were divorced when he was born. Barnaby's childhood did not see much drama, He did his full Secondary School education in England before moving to Australia to live with his father due to his mother falling to an alcoholic addiction, Barnaby thought this was the best move on his half as he could not care for his mother any longer. Barnaby straight away moved into his new school, Barnaby was 16 at the time and this is when he got his 'glow up' straight away Barnaby was seen as a person who would be popular in the school but that is not what happened. Barnaby was very quiet in the first couple of terms, focusing on getting used to the new town and getting his studies back up to date after the long time off due to the moving process.

Barnaby without knowing found out that his father James was the schools best volleyball player back in 1963 and won 2 1st Place National trophies. Barnaby can recall that his father had a lot of old volleyball equipment in his garage, this peeking Barnaby's interest he decided to dig through his fathers old items, finding and collecting the equipment needed.



Out of the blue Barnaby showed up to one of the volleyball tryouts, a lot of the students were surprised due to Barnaby being so silent the past few months of school. Within the first few matches Barnaby was seen as a surprisingly good player, he was let onto the team and was placed as a Spiker. This is what got Barnaby popular and noticed within the school as his team were the ones to crack him out of this shell he had created. He was an entirely new person, he was star pupil as his grades were high, his attendance was great and his overall attitude to the school environment was exceptional.

After a late practice in the school Barnaby and his friends went home all together, when it was just Barnaby and his best friend they were jumped in a alleyway by a corner store, Barnaby only gaining a sc**** got out of the fight, while looking back he saw his friend getting kicked to the floor, a rush or adrenaline went though Barnaby's body as he picked up a trash can and threw it at one of the attackers. He ran straight towards them, tackling one of them to the floor, as they all ran off Barnaby looked down at his hands seeing it covered in blood, in all the ruckus it seemed that Barnaby was stabbed in his leg, rib and his cheek was sliced but because of the adrenaline Barnaby did not notice nor feel any of the cuts. After a week of recovery Barnaby went home, waiting for the confirmation for him to go back to school, but the confirmation never came through, it seems the report his friend filled out made out that Barnaby attacked a bunch of random students and got cut with his own knife that he was carrying, the school not wanting to take a risk did not allow Barnaby back into the school, along with this Barnaby lost his position at the school. Through the entire Summer Barnaby worked with his father at this Homebase shop. He worked moving boxes, paint and tools. One day while Barnaby was working he was tapped on the shoulder by a man, the man requested where to find the rough pieces of wood, Barnaby getting distracted looking over his shoulder seeing a young girl, not much younger than him looking down at her phone.



Barnaby got a weird feeling around this girl, although Barnaby was feeling odd emotions he had never felt before he noticed she looked quite annoyed while texting on her phone, so to quickly make conversation Barnaby asked the young girl why she looked so annoyed, she quickly responded with her team being really annoying with practice times, Barnaby responded with a light giggle and explain how many times he also has issues with his team, Barnaby was quickly cut off with the young girl looking directly at him explaining in a rush that her name is Brook, she looked quite flustered while looking up at Barnaby. Before she left with her dad Barnaby asked if he could get her number so they can talk some more, although she seemed hesitant she wrote the number down on his arm. Barnaby felt an emotion he had never felt before, for the next week he could not get Brook of his mind but was scared to talk, as he was packing up for the night he got a (Bleep) from his phone, quickly looking at it he could see Brook messaged him with the text "Are you free this Sunday?" without hesitation Barnaby explained he finishes work at at 5, Brook told Barnaby not to worry about it, without knowing Barnaby's father was looking over his shoulder with the stupidest grin on his face, his father let Barnaby have the day off on Sunday so Barnaby got the details for Sunday.

Barnaby was invited to one of Brooks games, Barnaby then learnt that Brook was the Volleyball Captain of the female team in another local High-school. He stayed for one of her games that her team won, Brooks skills were amazing and Barnaby was amazed by how good she was. He stayed after the game to meet up with Brook, while all the girls came out of the locker room he could see them all whispering to each other and Brook, Barnaby might he a bit dumb but he isn't stupid. Barnaby and Brook decided to go on a walk through the forest, Barnaby explained that he was in a volleyball team when he was in High-school, Brook asked Barnaby why he isn't in school no more, Barnaby not wanting to ruin his imagine already with Brook he explained that he simply didn't see the point of education and decided to start working early to get the experience for when he gets older.

Though the next month Barnaby and Brook began to date, A lot of Brooks friends got to meet Barnaby but many of Barnaby's friends did not meet her as they all have decided to desert him and ignore his messages. Although many of Brooks friends found it odd that Barnaby had no friends they accepted him into the group none the less. Barnaby and Brook would go on multiple dates though the year, they would also have a battle of who is better at volleyball but Barnaby would never actually play volleyball with her, he felt that volleyball had an empty space in it that only his old team could fill. Brook would always press Barnaby to do what he loved and clearly by the way he spoke volleyball was what he loved, and she was right, Barnaby wished he could gain the courage to play volleyball again. Barnaby decided to celebrate that him and Brook were coming close to their 2 year anniversary, but when Barnaby met up with Brook she had her friends with her, suddenly Barnaby was being shouted at by all of Brooks friends, calling him a monster, a walking issue and worse insults, it would seem that Brook took wind of the report made on Barnaby and her friends all talked her into believing the report. Barnaby walked home in the rain, walking past key ares in his life, with this he would reflect, noticing that all these bad things happen for a reason, if his mother didn't make Barnaby leave he wouldn't have found his love for volleyball, if he didn't get kicked out of school he wouldn't have worked at his fathers shop and wouldn't have met Brook. 3 months later Barnaby's father was diagnosed with cancer, although Brook tried to contact Barnaby he ignored all messages. As Barnaby was only 18 at this point, no where to live or work his old High-school offered him transfer to another school in Japan as they have been looking for a good volleyball player, the Headmaster of the school felt as he owed Barnaby so he allowed Barnaby to take this opportunity , he was told he would be moving to Karakura.



Barnaby's first time in Karakura High made him be placed as the Captain for the College Males Volleyball Team, he met someone by the name of Matt Martinez who was not apart of the team yet. Matt showed Barnaby around the town and school, he then also met Weston Moreitti. They would all quickly become friends and Barnaby would see the great skill that Matt had with volleyball, along with Matt he also found that Weston was a great player and placed them both on the team. They later decided to begin saving for a house. It is now 2020, Barnaby is 19 and has been the Captain of the College Males Volleyball Team for nearly a year.

Personality: Despite his flirtatious and childishness behaviour, Barnaby is an excellent, well-rounded player and is extremely serious about volleyball. He's known to have a "disgusting personality" amongst both opponents and his own teammates because of his smug, yet outwardly flippant attitude. Barnaby also frequently makes cheerful remarks, but follows them up with serious or intimidating afterthoughts. Barnaby is extremely intelligent and cunning and easily figures out both his teammates and opponents' weaknesses. Barnaby is also a grade-A student, although he occupies a lot of his time practising he still fits in study time. Barnaby is neither a introvert or a extrovert he is more along the lines of a ambivert, someone who is very social but needs time to recharge and be alone.

Appearance: Barnaby has dark brown hair that is swept outwards and bright blue eyes that stick out with the rest of his face. Many others find him attractive. Barnaby frequently smiles and grins. He tends to make victory signs or large waving gestures, which are often accompanied by broad smiles or a wink. Another trademark expression of his is sticking out his tongue while smiling and closing one eye.

Emotional Strengths: Barnaby is a pretty emotionally strong person, he rarely shows any emotion to anyone he doesn't knew well. He is a great listener and sees himself as a person to go to for advice on how to take proper and reasonable actions towards various situations

Emotional Weaknesses: Barnaby can easily get competitive and takes any official game serious so around these times he can get quite stressed and can snap at even his closes friends





Motivation: Barnaby is motivated by the fact that his life has lead him down this path that he cannot control, he is okay with the path chosen and is ready to see what else comes in his way
