Background:
Binna Jae had always been quite the odd one of the bunch. She was born in one of the big cities of Japan, while the rest of her family were born and raised in Germany. This already lead to Binna never being able to learn fluent German.. really not being able to understand any of it. This wasn't a huge issue for school, but just for family life in general. Binna being the unintentional trouble maker, with her bright, loud personality tended to often get scolded by her parents. Even other kids parents and relatives scolded her for her actions. Though because Binna couldn't understand German, her parents main way of communication, these scoldings never got across to her. Gunther and Emmeline both having jobs to support the family didn't have the time nor energy to teach Binna German.. *Some parents EH!* In situations where Binna wasn't complying due to just simply not understanding, her parents would use their hands. Either a slap on the wrist? Perhaps across the cheek, or shoulder. . depends on what happened. When it was talking back usually it was the wrist, tolerable right? Ehhh not quite. Even if the action was as small as this, their words which Binna never heard were what really. . stung. Their constant threats and belittling was disgusting. Mi, who was Binna's older sister did understand German, and could speak it fluently. She always heard these words of hatred and hurt. So, Mi tried her best to tutor Binna German so she could eventually understand it better. However no matter how long or how much Mi tried to teach Binna, she just never got it. . This was later on diagnosed to be a learning disability. Binna was officially diagnosed with Processing Deficits when she was at the prime age of 7. . .
